The Chuo-ku Health and Welfare Festival, which is held every year during this season, was held at [Akatsuki Park]. This weekend was a rainy forecast in the first place, so I was worried about the sky, but on the day of the event, the rain on the day before left, and the weather gradually recovered.
People gathered one after another at the venue [Akatsuki Park]. A variety of faces, including the elderly, families with small children, and welfare organizations, were also available this year.
Various performances were performed on the central stage. It is also a place where you can sympathize with the rules of society and what you want to keep in mind while having fun.
Many volunteers and members of each town council participate in this event and support the operation. This is an event to rediscover the warmth of helping each other and communication. At the same time, the "Consumer Life Exhibition" is also held in the venue. Many people are looking forward to this event every year this season.
In the corner of the "Fureai Shokudo", there are mock shops where each town council has devised each. Many people seem to have a fun tasting time while feeling the autumn of appetite, such as seafood, yakitori, steak, yakisoba, cakes, etc.
It is a pleasure to deepen local exchange and enjoy a friendly feeling through various events in Chuo-ku. It is a good opportunity to see the charm of this place. Everyone, please find the opportunity and go out.

This project, which was started with the aim of rediscovering the charm of Chuo-ku through comparison between the Sumida River and the friendship river Seine in Paris, has also reached "Part 5".
This time, the theme is "Tower".
Speaking of the Tower in Paris, it's a well-known [Eiffel Tower].
Built in conjunction with the World Exposition held in 1889, the tower was named Eiffel Tower under the name of one of the proposers, Gustave Eiffel. At present, the height of the tower is 324 meters. Even after more than 100 years, its innovative design and personality accentuates the landscape of Paris.
It was originally planned to be dismantled in 20 years, but has escaped from military necessity and has continued to this day. The tower, which was initially strongly opposed to building as "distributing the dignity of Paris," is now completely familiar with the landscape, and the Seine area in this neighborhood was registered in World Heritage in 1991.
Of course, Tokyo Tower has long towered as a symbol of Tokyo. It was completed in 1958 (Showa 33), when post-war reconstruction began in earnest. 332.6 meters high.
The background of many movies and novels has remained in the memory of Japanese people. The tower is built in Minato-ku, but from the viewpoint of the theme of this time, "view from the river", it can be said that it is one of the scenery of Chuo-ku. The appearance of [Tokyo Tower] seen from the bridge and on the boat seems adorable.
The Tokyo Sky Tree, which is scheduled to open in May next year, has a total height of 634 meters. As an independent tower, of course, it boasts the highest height in the world.
This location is Sumida-ku. However, the view from the Sumida River in this tower is very picturesque. It is good to look up close in the area of Asakusa, but when you go down the Sumida River and enter Chuo-ku, it looks just right height and blends into the surrounding town scenery. It will produce many stories from now on.
It is a mysterious common point that each of the two cities has a tower that becomes a "face", and the view from the river invites people to relax. It is a season when you can see the tower rising in the clear sky dignifiedly.

The autumn of Chuo-ku is full of events.
Following the “Sports Festival” on the 10th (Mon), the “Children's Festival” was held at Hamacho Park on the 16th (Sun).
It was a sunny autumn day with the rain that had fallen until dawn. Many children who were waiting for this day gathered with their families and friends.
As staff of administration, everybody of each area in ward and PTA of each elementary school, kindergarten take charge of each role and have you make an effort. It is an event that truly symbolizes the comprehensive power of residents.
Various corners are prepared in the venue. It is a day for children to get acquainted with play and culture while choosing and experiencing their favorite events.
The Children's Festival is held every year at this time. If you didn't have the opportunity to visit this time, please take a look next year. You can meet the cheerful voices of the children.
By the way, such a lively Hamacho Park also looks at the trees and flowers in the park, and makes you feel the coming of autumn here and there.
The scent of ginkgo (ginnan) flows faintly from the ginkgo tree. There are also leaves that are slightly colored. The wind blowing from the river has clear autumn air.
The autumn of Chuo-ku has just reached the moment. Why don't you go out to a nearby park or a promenade on the riverside to feel the sense of season?

This is the fourth in a series that rediscovers the charm of Chuo-ku while comparing along the edge of the friendship river between Sumida River and Seine. (For the prologue, please refer to the “Introduction” section. "Sumida River and Seine" ≪Introduction≫
By the way, this time, we will take up the canal (moat) leading to each river and the surrounding town.
Seine is itself a tourist attraction, but in fact it is a little sideway and you can enjoy a slightly different atmosphere by going around the canals and moats that lead to the main stream.
Near St. Louise Island, near the Bastille Square, there is a dock for yachts and sightseeing boats, and it is called the Port of Arsnar. It's also a great pleasure to cross a small bridge and look at the shape of this canal.
In addition, the waterway extends further from this [Alsnar Port]. Although it is partly underground, the [San Martin Canal] appears again on the surface of the earth.
The waterside is where citizens and tourists enjoy walking around and relax at riverside cafes.
This is a recommended walking course that preserves the atmosphere of the old days.
Of course, Chuo-ku is a city of water transportation, so many canals have been set up in the ward since the opening of Edo.
After that, quite a lot of moats were reclaimed, but it is near Shinkawa that can extend its ancient appearance. The riverbank, which was once crowded with boat transportation as a collection point for sake and soy sauce, still makes you feel nostalgic even now. This is also recommended for strolling along with the riverside of the main Sumida River.
In addition, although the history is relatively short, the Harumi Canal has a presence. Just at Ishikawajima, it is divided into the main stream of the Sumida River, forming a border with Koto-ku, passing through Aioi Bridge and Harumi Bridge to Tokyo Bay. On holidays, you may see people who enjoy jet skiing. It is the face of a new waterway in Chuo-ku.
Many tributaries are connected to the Sumida River and the Seine, and boats come and go, and people move. If a person moves, a story will be born. Why don't you blend into the canal that spells out the history of the city and the scenery of the surrounding town for a while?

Chuo-ku Tourism Association carries out this year [Chuo-ku new discovery! I accompanied one of the programs of "Town Walking Tour" <Industrial Course-Nihonbashi Long-established Course 2>. "Chuo-ku new discovery! "Town Walking Tour"
This time, there are three places to visit: [Kiya], [Kaishin], and [Yamamoto-noriten]. All of them are long-established stores that have been around since the Edo period, and are only famous stores with many fixed customers.
The first thing I visited was Kiya. The reopening on the first floor of [Cored Muromachi] is a new place to remember, but we also have old-fashioned items and products based on new concepts, so you will never get tired of it.
On this day, they practiced how to sharpen kitchen knives. I realized that the sharpness of the kitchen knife will change so much depending on how you sharpen it. Also, listening to the story that the way of sharpening depends on the direction of the handy arm, it is said "convincing!"
The next one I visited was Mr. This shop, which originated in Ise and Kuwana, is famous for its unique flavorful "Shigure-ni". In addition to the “Clam” related to Kuwana, “Ami” and “Konbu” “Shijimi”, all have an appetizing scent.
When I visit the shop, I am just impressed by the depth of the taste because the seasoning differs depending on the ingredients, as well as adjusting the sweetness and depth according to the season and climate.
The last thing that bothered me was Yamamoto-noriten. We commercialize fragrant seaweed based on materials collected from paid production areas in Japan, including Kyushu and Ariake Sea.
It seemed quite difficult to distinguish the good or bad of seaweed, but the easiest way to understand seems to be "eat and delicious". Recently, many overseas customers have visited in search of the high quality of Japanese seaweed.
Nihonbashi is full of other long-established stores. It is a rich time to shop while receiving explanations of the products along with history and history.
Just from today, the Chuo-ku Tourism Industry Festival (60th anniversary of the Chuo-ku Shopping Street Federation) will be held until the end of November. "Chuo-ku Tourism and Commerce Festival"
There are also events in the Nihonbashi area, and on October 30 (Sunday), the "Nihonbashi Festival" will be held.
Would you like to be invited by the refreshing breeze of autumn and go out for a shopping walk?
