Wednesday, July 27 Nihonbashi Long-established Course 2 of the “Town Walking” tour industry course was held.
Wood shop → Yamamoto-noriten → I went around Nihonbashi Kaishin.
(Part 1) Then I would like to introduce "Nihonbashi Kiya".
Until around the fall of last year, it was on the opposite side of the Mitsukoshi Main Store across Chuo-dori, but it entered the first floor of "Cored Muromachi" and was opposite to the Mitsui Main Building.
Metro Link (free) In front of "Nihonbashimurocho 1-chome" bus stop is "Kiya".
Kidai Shoran ... A wonderful view of the brilliant era
At that time, four wooden shops were lined up, including Kiya Kochichichi (head office), which is under contract at that time.
Japanese shop curtain, the rightmost wooden shop, is exactly the same as the trademark used in today's knives wooden shop.
It is with the crest of the name of Kiya in the frame of Izutsu. (I wrote a small → in the picture.)
It is a masterpiece with a bird's-eye view of the main street from Imagawa Bridge in Edo to Nihonbashi around 1805 (1805) from the east, and the streets on the west side of the street are drawn with a length of about 12m.
The origin of the name "Kiya"
Kubei, who was a medicinal merchant of the Toyotomi family as a medicinal merchant, was invited by Ieyasu Tokugawa to his younger brother and went down to Edo to have a store in Honmachi.
It is said that since it was separated from the main store in Osaka, the forest with the last name was divided into two and used as "wood" to be called "kiya".
Founded a knife shop
In April 162792, he was allowed to divide the Japanese shop curtain into the first "Isuke Kato Isuke" who came out of Ise Kuwana and worked hard at the Kiya Main Store.
At that time, carpentry tools were mainly used for knives, but at the end of the Tokugawa period, Western knives began to be imported.
We're on sale until the end of July.
In addition to a number of wonderful kitchen knives and scissors, there were many whetstones, nail polishes, and small items used in the kitchen.
I learned how to sharpen the kitchen knife ... ... The taste of sashimi cut with a well-cut kitchen knife is delicious ...
Also, I often learned that I need to grind my kitchen knife myself.
The handle material is natural wood, and the bow and zelkova are Japanese kitchen knives ...
Shidandan and ebony are used for Western knives ...
I found a "claw clipper" that cuts very well in the product, but it seems to be a popular product.
It was a very good sharpness without breaking the nails.
The long-established store in "Cored Muromachi" seems to have a high threshold for us, but it is never such a thing and it is a friendly shop. If you haven't come yet, please visit us once ... it's fun ...
