Morning and night in Kachidoki where you can see the landmark tower in the clear air

[Yurikamome] December 28, 2011 15:00

I could see Yokohama Landmark Tower reflecting the morning sun from Chuo-ku in early morning. It's a building that shines vertically across ridgeline on the left side of the Teppen on the pillar of the Rainbow Bridge in front.

The sun sank in the mountains of Tanzawa, and the buildings on the ground glowed. In the sky, which retains its blueness, the thin crescent moon and the evening star are shining.

If you look more closely, the contour lines are also shining in the dark part of the crescent moon. The color gradation that follows blue, white, yellow, orange, vermilion, red, and black from the top reminds us of Hiroshige's ukiyo-e. I think it's finished well today.

Looking west, the Tokyo Tower stands sharply down overlooking the area. This color scheme of the tower is a design of normal times.           2011_1227 twilight Tokyo Tower Photo 06.JPG

However, on Christmas Eve the other day, I was dressed in fashionable costumes as shown in the photo below.

It's getting darker. The lighting of the Rainbow Bridge has also increased its brightness. At the government pier at Harumi Wharf in the foreground, a four-mast sailing ship "Kaiomaru" stretched a light bulb on the mast to enhance its presence.

Fireworks on Christmas Eve A wonderful view from Chuo-ku

[Yurikamome] December 27, 2011 08:30

Dodon ...

Suddenly I heard a loud noise.

Looking out of the window, there was a large fireworks in front of the left side of the Rainbow Bridge.

It was only 10 minutes from 7 o'clock in the evening, but I couldn't help but stand on the terrace and see it.

It was fried on December 3 (Sat), 10 (Sat), 17 (Sat), and 24 (Sat).

It was only 10 hours from 7 p.m. on Saturday night in December, but it shines beautifully in the cold dry night sky.

And I thought it was good to live in Chuo-ku.

I'm glad I became a Chuo-ku sightseeing correspondent ...

The joy of being told that the beautiful scenery is beautiful.

The joy of being told that a delicious meal is delicious ...

The joy of being told that strange things are strange ...

The joy of conveying fun festivals and events in Chuo-ku.

The joy of supporting the Tokyo Marathon and participating in various events.

Why don't you all try the certification test of the Chuo-ku Tourism Association and see it ...

By informing a large number of people who see the blog, my knowledge will increase.

The application for the examination will be closed on January 23.

I hope that many people will take the exam.

2011 Press Photo Exhibition Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Store 7F December 16-25

[Yurikamome] December 22, 2011 13:00

This is a press photo exhibition taken by news photographers of the Tokyo Photographer Association (Newspaper, Communications, and Broadcasting (NHK) companies). It was an annual event that looked back on 2011 and celebrated the 52nd photo exhibition.

2011_1222 Press Photo Exhibition Photo 0004.JPGThis year's work was a painful and sad event in major earthquake, mainly in the Tohoku region, and the unprecedented great disaster hit by the tsunami.

The horror of the tsunami ...

Looking at each one, there are things close to my chest, but there were many photos of bright smiles during the reconstruction.

The moment of the women's soccer World Cup "Nadeshiko Champion" and the appearance of women's figure skating Miki Ando sliding on the ring with the "Hinomaru", and the smiles and innocent appearance of many children were well photographed .

The momentary truth that revives the excitement ...

I recommend that you take a look.

This photo exhibition: It is free in Tokyo, but it will be charged next year in Yokohama.

For 140 years in Ginza Tsuya Fukin Smoking Tobacco Cigar (Sasaki Shoten)

[Yurikamome] 10:00 on December 16, 2011

On the other side of Takashi Tanaka Metal, which I posted on my blog last time, there is Sasaki Shoten, famous for "Tsuya Fukin".

What I would like to introduce most at this shop is "Sasaki no Tsuya Fukin".

More than 140 years have passed since we started production and sales in 1868.

It looks like a cloth on a yellow towel with a handkerchief size, but it is a special "excellent thing".

Tans tokonoma Different shelf koto shamisen musical instrument, such as ebony ebony aragi work, are lightly wiped to create a surprising shine and feel comfortable.

If you wipe a cast or copper iron instrument with a "tsuyafukin", it will be beautiful with rust prevention action.

There is no need to wash this cloth because it loses its effect when washed.

"Tsuyafukin" uses nature instead of the power of chemistry. ¥1050.

An adult female adult of Ibotaroukaigaramushi, which parasitizes trees such as Ibotanoki and Ratmochi, lays thousands of eggs while making a dark brown round shell of about 1 cm. Male larva hatched around June secrete white wax in twigs around July and grows and wraps twigs in lumps of white wax. It becomes an adult around September, but this white wax is collected and refined, and is used for various industrial and medicinal purposes. "Tsuyafukin" is made by soaking it in a cloth.

It's an expensive pipe.

It reminds me of the scene that appears in old Western paintings.

Even if you don't smoke, if you look at such a lot of pipes, it has each feature and is interesting.

I remember a scene where my father did not particularly like tobacco but had a pipe.

This is a gold Christmas tree produced by Shogo Kariyazaki.

A total of 50 pure gold Phalaenopsis orchids and a total of 60 pure gold heart-shaped plates decorate the Christmas tree with pure gold leaf ribbons. The star, which is indispensable to the top of the tree, is also made of pure gold, and is a large object about 20 cm square.

The Christmas tree, which shines while covered with golden-dyed poinsettia, emits a special shine even higher than the sky in the city of Ginza, which is brilliant with illuminations.

A long time ago, a rice cake making tournament on the street

[Yurikamome] December 6, 2011 08:30

On December 4 (Sun), the 11th Mochitsuki Tournament was held with the participation of neighborhood associations such as Kakigara-cho and Hakozaki-cho. .

In the past, smaller neighborhood associations went to each other just after the 20th, when the New Year is near.

Why did you do this? ? ? ? ・・・・・・・

In the past, there were many people who could not eat rice cakes during the New Year because the gap between the rich and the poor was larger than it is now.

In such a situation, rich people paid out money and put rice cakes in each town and celebrated the New Year.

Today, it is supported by volunteers and inherits old traditions.

Equipment used for rice cake making is stored underground at Nihonbashi Elementary School.

2011_1204 Holding of Ningyocho 1 Photo 0170.JPG New rice is delicious, but old rice seems to be better for rice cakes and sushi.

The rice cakes made by a large number of volunteers were put in a pack with yellow flour and red bean paste and distributed.

I purchased the 200 yen ticket first and went with you.

There is also "Udon", and eating freshly made rice cakes and udon on the street is a sense of unity and fun.

You can see that the photo above is a great crowd.

2011_1204 Tent with rice cake in Ningyocho Photo 0182.JPG Each neighborhood association set up a tent, gathered in one place, distributed to each tent in the order in which the mochigome was steamed and completed, and delicious mochi was completed in each place.

2011_1204 Ningyocho Mochitsuki Happy Photo 0185.JPGThere was also a matching happi appearance, so I felt like a festival.

I was very happy to hear that the participation of young people living in condominiums in such gatherings is increasing.
