In summer, we will start production. It is a season when children often play in the pool and go out.
I think it's interesting to learn about the history of Chuo-ku, especially the history of Kachidokibashi and the structure of the bridge.
I have participated in a tour of the pier. You can put it in the bridge.
From the overview, there is a signal for the passage of the ship, and the bridge is hitting a pedestrian signal when jumping up or a waiting line (stud). (I didn't notice even when I walked a lot.)
Please read the photo at the time of the tour, so please read it to the end.
Museum in Kachidokibashi (from the website)
Kachidokibashi, built based on the Tokyo Port Rebuilding Plan, was built with the best of the state-of-the-art technology at the time, in order to use it as the main gate for the World Exposition, which was scheduled as a national event at the time. The Expo itself was canceled due to the intensification of war, but Kachidokibashi was completed on June 14, 1940.
Kachidokibashi, which opens and closes the center, was the largest in the East as a jumping bridge at the time of completion, but due to a decrease in the number of ships sailing on the Sumida River and an increase in traffic volume, etc. Finally, it is now a bridge that does not open.
The museum has renovated the substations used to open the bridge, and displays and discloses valuable materials and related information on the bridges of the Sumida River, including Kachidokibashi. In addition, huge machines for opening the bridge will be released through a tour of the pier, which requires a reservation.
