Nihonbashi "Bamboo Light"

[Sam] December 23, 2014 09:00

R0031720RSG.JPG Currently, champagne gold is illuminated at Mitsui Main Building / Mitsui Tower in the Nihonbashi area, and illuminations (Modern EDO KIRIKO) with the motif of "Edo Kiriko" are being developed at Cored Muromachi Tower Dining Co., Ltd. (Producted for a limited time on December 19th.

Venue: Cored Muromachi 1-2 front (Edo Sakura-dori St., Ukiyokoji),

In front of Fukutoku Shrine (Ukiyo Path)

Period From December 19 to February 15, 2015

"Bamboo lights" are handmade one by one using green bamboo, with patterns of snow and cone, which are traditional Japanese beauty. I heard that the concept of circulating used bamboo (returning it into bamboo charcoal or compost to the earth) is suitable for an eco-friendly city Nihonbashi, so it was adopted for the first time.

Gentle and warm "light" and "shadow" create a fantastic atmosphere and add color to the roadside.

Yaesu Underground Shopping Street Shiwasu

Yaesu Underground Shopping Center 2014CRRS.jpg Yaesu Underground Shopping Center, commonly known as Yae Chika, spreads under Sotobori-dori St. in front of Yaesu Exit of Tokyo Station and under Yaesu Street.

Directly connected to the Daimaru Tokyo store "Hoppo Town", Tokyo Station Development (JR Central), "Tokyo Station Ichibangai", and the Railway Hall (JR East) "Grand Roof Front <Old Kirapika Street>, Granage and Black Fence Yokocho". The sales floor area is one of the largest shopping malls not only in Tokyo but also in Japan.

This underground shopping mall was originally built in line with the maintenance of public parking lots at the Yaesu Exit of Tokyo Station, completed in 1969.

Originally, the area around Yaesu is a commercial area that borders Nihonbashi and Kyobashi, and was crowded with people.

Compared to the Marunouchi side, which has been redeveloped as one of Japan's leading office districts and has been spotlighted, it was undeniable that the impression was slightly lessened, but in recent years redevelopment plans have been promoted in the Nihonbashi and Kyobashi areas, and a new flow of people seems to be being created.

At Yaesu Underground Shopping Center, the annual Christmas Festa 2014 is being held from November 26 to December 25.

A lottery place is set up on the main Avenue, and a large lottery is held where you can draw once every 3,000 yen for shopping and eating and drinking.

Also, from December 19th to 24th, twice from 12:30 to 15:00, Flute Women's Club will have a classical music and various genres of "Christmas Music Live".

At the Yaesu Exit, the Grand Roof, which consists of a large roof, a pedestrian deck, and commercial facilities, was completed last year.

The station square has also been improved, and the dress has been renewed.

On December 1st, illuminations based on the concept of "TOKYO COLORS" are lit on the Grand Roof, which is celebrating its second year.

(From 17:00 to 23:00 until February 14, 2015)

I hear that it expresses the hope of the visitors for the future and the bright future of Tokyo by creating a production that images the future, such as changes in light incorporating the flow of the blowing wind.

Autumn leaves in Japanese maple <Hamarikyu Garden>

[Sam] December 4, 2014 18:00

momiji_kaedeRRSG.jpg In the Hamarikyu Garden, the autumn leaves "Japanese maple" is at its best.

Momiji is a representative variety of the maple family maple to refer to this species.

Also known as Iroha maple, Kohamomiji.

It is also called Takao Momiji because of Takao, a famous spot for autumn leaves in Kyoto.

It is said that the Japanese name is derived from the fact that the leaves that split 5-7 in palm-shaped shape are counted as Irohanihoheto from the end.

Of the approximately 6,000 trees in the park, Japanese maple counts 25 trees.

maple is a general term for the genus maple of the family maple, and it is said that it comes from "momizu", which means that it leaves, and refers to maple, a representative of plants that turn red in autumn.

There are many horticultural varieties in Japanese maple.

①Let's move from green to yellow to red

②The delicate beauty of the small, palm-shaped leaves 5-7 split into small branches.

 ③Vibrity of color

The vivid colors of Japanese maple planted around the tide pond (Oizumi) shine on the surface of the water.

GINZA ILLUMINATION 2014 <Michi Hikari>

[Sam] 09:00 on December 4, 2014

R0031561ELS.JPGR0031577RSG.JPG On December 3, the illuminations of "Hikari Michi 2014" are lit in the city of Ginza.

Lighting period: Until January 18, 2015

Lighting time: 15:00~24:00

This year's theme is "Light that illuminates the future."

As in last year, around 74 glowing triangular pillars, along Ginza-dori (Chuo-dori) 1-chome to 8-chome, Harumi-dori St. from Sukiyabashi to Ginza 4-chome intersection, about 180,000 specially developed "special champagne gold" colored LEDs wrap gorgeously.

On Ginza Street, a ring that means "hope" shines on the upper part of the glowing triangular pillar, and on Harumi-dori St., guardrails and streetlights are decorated, creating a fantastic Hikari Michi.

A design inspired by such a situation where the thoughts of the people coming and going are connected and spread to a shining ring.

This is the fourth year of the “GINZA ILLUMINATION” project, which was started with the wish of the reconstruction of Tohoku.

This year, a new symbolic art work that embodys that thought has been newly installed and posted.

One is the 2m high spherical object "MOON" installed along the road near the 4-chome intersection.

The other is the art work exhibited at the Rumbini Art Museum in Hanamaki City, Iwate Prefecture, which supports and displays art activities for people with disabilities, posted on the temporary wall at the construction site at the corner of the 4-chome intersection.

In addition, during the illumination period this year, a charity donation box for Tohoku reconstruction support is provided in the supporting stores and stores that agree with the purpose.
