When it comes to spring events on the Sumida River, cherry blossom viewing is the best.
When it comes to sporting events, there is this historic event that takes place every April.
This is the Waseda-Keio Regatta, which celebrates its 84th anniversary in 2015. This is an eight-seater boat race between Waseda University and Keio University.
(The picture is from a regatta a few years ago.)
This tournament is known as the competition between Tokyo's best private universities, but since the boat itself is not a very major sport, it has a plain impression now.
However, it is said that in the past, it has attracted considerable attention.
By the way, it is relations with Chuo-ku, but race may start from around Hamacho Park because the starting point is upstream of Shinohashi.
The goal is Sakurabashi that crossed Asakusa.
It takes about 10 minutes to go through this distance.
At the starting point, OBOGs from both schools are cheering. Is there a lot of people who were university students a little long time ago? Still, everyone is hot.
Both schools started shortly about their location. When we started accelerating, it quickly disappeared to Ryogoku Bridge. The latest information comes in by radio, but you can not see the race process in Chuo-ku. Even so, there are also TV broadcasts, so some people seem to watch it on their mobile phones. Isn't this kind of sport suitable for public viewing?
It seems that there have been various progress, but this year we won Keio University.
Waseda University will pledge the humiliation of next year and will do his best again.
This kind of repetition will build history.
This is the 84th time since it has been more than 100 years in history. In fact, there was a time when the river was dirty and I couldn't race. It was finally revived in the 1950s and has continued to this day.
If you think so, it's a race with a beautiful Sumida River. I hear that players from both schools are proud to be on this stage.
Remember that the tradition of this race is inseparable from the Sumida River and is with the people who protect the Sumida River.

In the last week of March, the cherry blossoms are already in full bloom, but this is Hamacho Park last week. Flowers are open one by one from the inflated buds. It seems that this opened all at once over the weekend. It's in the middle of spring now.
Where should I go in Chuo-ku, where there are many famous cherry blossom spots?

It's been a week since the rush run. I have run various marathons and have already completed more than 20 races, but every time I run the Tokyo Marathon feels like a special tournament. It was my third participation this time, but when will the next time? I want to go over the hard lottery before that run, and run again.
I would like to make some reports on the topic of discussion.
(Expo)
Before the tournament, I have to go to Tokyo Big Sight to get a bib, and it has been decided that the venue will be fun with a festive atmosphere. I visited on Friday night. There are many booths such as manufacturers of sports equipment and supplements related to marathons, and most marathon contestants are busy preparing to the end, but in fact, various organizations are coming and those booths are also interesting .
Meanwhile, our Chuo-ku Tourism Association was also on display.
When I asked for a greeting, the Skanda hand towel of Daikanonji, which I prayed before, was sold. You're always good at grabbing your heart. I pledged a good weekend for one.

On the day, it did not rain and started in front of Shinjuku Tokyo Metropolitan Government at 9:10 in a just right climate. The first half is an easy course with many descents. After that, there are many flats, so the course layout is easy overall. It is said that Tsukuda-ohashi Bridge in Chuo-ku is the toughest, so there are no hills or mountains and it is actually an easy course. Yes, it's easy to run. In the first half, if you cross the guard of Yurakucho, it ends half. Up to this point, it was good to take 1 hour and 35 minutes, but it feels a little over pace. At that time, I decided in my heart that "If you still enjoy Tokyo, if you crush it, that's fine, I'll do my best."
When I headed from Ginza to Asakusa in the first Chuo-ku section, I was in good shape, but when I headed from Asakusa to Ginza, my feet stopped around Kayabacho. It's sometimes something, but I'm sorry. You have to practice more and more.
The goal is to change quickly. It's important to go to the goal without giving up even if it's a slow pace. In the gorgeous glamorous situation of Ginza, my heart was about to break, but I remembered the happiness of running in this city and proceeded without losing.
(goal)
I managed to get to Tokyo Big Sight. 3 hours and 24 minutes. Yeah. It can be said that it is not bad, but the result is tough compared to the previous Tokyo Marathon. Except for my feet stuck, my feet were solid after running, so it was a good run. If you cross muscle pain with this, you will surely be a runner on one sheet. There was a strong desire to run better at the Tokyo Marathon in the next race or in the future.
A non-alcoholic beer and a celebration. To myself who ran safely.
I want to run like a fly next time! I couldn't get to Skanda this time.

I was practicing hard at the Tokyo Marathon, but from the second half of December, I felt sick and couldn't run as expected. I'm worried that the finish is delayed like that.
It is a course I know well, but I tried to pick it up properly both for practice and test run. Proceed to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, Yasukuni Dori, and the Imperial Palace, not to Shinagawa, but to Ginza. When I wanted to take a break, I stopped by Kabukiza.
Originally, I want to run up the stairs, but I ride on an elevator to the garden. Speaking of which, recently, Kabukiza's articles have disappeared for a while, but when it opened, there were many introduction articles. That's what I remember.
It's a happy phoenix. There are phoenix tiles lined up, but only the phoenix on the left is facing the left. It's the only place in the whole.
I left, praying to run like a phoenix.
If you think about it, the area around Kabukiza is around 35 km, which is the toughest in the race, and you will not be able to run out with such a comfortable feeling. But among the courses of the Tokyo Marathon, the area from Nihonbashi to Ginza and Tsukiji is also the most exciting area. The area that excites the most difficult part may be the secret of this marathon.
My practice was distracted by this detour and ended at a public bath in Tsukiji. I can't keep it as it is.
I would like to do my best to run through like a phoenix until February 22nd.

After receiving the lottery for the Tokyo Marathon 2015, I decided to run in the gorgeous city of Chuo-ku on February 22.
Well, I'm ready. I will practice a lot from now on! But before that, I wished. I wish you good luck.
Where shall I go? There was something I could think of.
Daikanonji Temple in Ningyocho. This temple is enshrined with a cast iron bodhisattva head that was originally located at Kannondo of Shin Kiyomizu-dera Temple in Kamakura.
The Kannondo was destroyed by fire during the Kamakura period, but later the head was dug out and laid here as main deity.
Among such a venerable temple, Skanda is enshrined separately.
Upon examination, the Buddha god of Tenbe, who is one of the eight generals of Masuchoten and is the leader of the thirty-two generals. It is said that he was able to make a quick comparison because he chased and regained the demon that took away the Buddhist shalt. There is also a story that Skanda came to be a treat because he ran around for Historical Buddha and collected food.
I wanted to be the god of running, so in Ningyocho, near the course of the Tokyo Marathon, I joined my hands with Idaten.

This time, I think the store I will introduce will be the best information for those who like wine, especially Italian wine, and those who like procured ham and cheese.
Vineria IL Passaggio is always secretly in the street behind Shin-ohashi-dori St., Hamacho 2-chome.
You can always drink nearly 10 bottles of wine in a glass. I'm glad that organic cultivation and specialty wine are served normally.
If you're lucky, you can meet one cup with a pretty premium feeling. All wines are served in good quality, well managed by the seller. The owner, Satake, is a connoisseur, so it's a good idea to ask various questions and get your favorite wine.
There are many possibilities for eating.
There are about 20 types of prosciutal ham and salami, and you will surely be able to meet something you have never met.
Cheese are all authentic.
In addition, shopkeepers trained at a number of Italian restaurants will prepare dishes with the special menu of each season.
In addition, there is a lot of food. There are more than 30 kinds of bottles, mainly grappa, so you can choose any one by glass.
I usually start with a standard dish of appetizers, raw ham and salami, and ask for the recommended dishes at that time, and enjoy the wine as much as I can. And tighten it with pasta. A lot of after-meal sake (one cup) when you have enough power.
It is an irresistible shop for those who like alcohol.
