A mountain of treasure

[Old Rose] January 31, 2017 18:00

The other day, I stopped by marche Tsukiji.

I always check black tea and chocolate, but when I looked at the coffee corner, I found a lot of cafe Paulista beans.

It was surprising that beans that I wanted to buy at a Ginza store someday could be bought at Tsukiji.

I chose Mandelin (500g 1,080 yen).

I saw a woman buying 10 bags of coffee-flavored flower beans at the store next to it, so I visited it.

"Oh! I was asked by a friend," he said.

According to the owner of the store, it's a popular product.

Another rice cake made by a woman who came to the peddling from Chiba, who appeared on NHK TV several times before, was also sold.

Tsukiji was already aware of it, but he still lacked study.

I'm going to walk further to find the treasures of Tsukiji.

Western sweets are also recommended. ~Senbikiya Sohonten~ ②

[rosemary sea] January 30, 2017 16:00

It is rosemary sea that picks up "Gift and Enjoy yourself" and covers it.

Sembikiya Sohonten is a famous store for high-end fruit sales, but I would like to introduce you in addition to fruit sales.

It's a Western confectionery corner, but not to mention Rosmari, the Nihonbashi Main Store was full of customers.

We talked to Mr. Kawado, assistant manager of Nihonbashi Main Store, Senbikiya Sohonten Co., Ltd., and Mr. Yoshida, deputy sales manager.

It is said that the Western confectionery corner has been put in full swing since he became the current president, President Hiroshi Oshima.

Well, let's introduce the product. All images can be enlarged by clicking.

DSC01805a.jpgBanana omelet.

"It's the most popular. The right is the banana omelet, but the center is the strawberry omelet, a seasonal product.

By the way, mango omelets are limited in summer and banana Mont Blanc omelets are limited in autumn.

The left is a chocolate banana omelet."

DSC01851a.jpgGrapefruit Jerry (right).

"It's the second most popular. Jerry made of whole grapefruit. I'll pull it out once and put it back as Jerry.

Due to the limited number of sales, it will be sold out depending on the time.

In addition, grapefruit has a strong acidity depending on the season, so there are times when we do not serve it.

There is Orange Jerry in the center and Grapefruit Jerry Ruby on the left, among which grapefruit Jerry is the best selling."

In fact, the first shooting day was sold in the daytime, and I was able to visit again the next day to shoot. It seems that they may be replenished in the evening.

"It's also on the menu at the fruit parlor and restaurant on the second floor. In addition, it is also available at "All-you-can-eat fruits of the world" every Monday, which is very popular and reservations are filled up immediately. Because of its popularity, sales are also strong. The two kinds of fruit sandwiches use seasonal fruits every month. As for the main store, half of the regular sandwiches and half of those using Queen Strawberry are now like this."

The interview is in January. It seems that it will switch to half from February.

DSC01807a.jpg DSC01801a.jpg

Sherbet ice cream (left).

"We're buying quite a lot even in winter. vanilla, banana ice cream is popular."

The right contains 12 sherbet ice cream assorted.

"It's popular for mid-year and year-end gifts."

DSC01852a.jpgFruit punch.

"We have confirmed the fruits once at the market, but when they are delivered and reviewed here, there are some things that cannot be sold as they are due to scratches and dents.

Not all, but in such a case, it may be used as a parfait or fruit punch at the fruit parlor & restaurant on the second floor. In addition, it can be sold as a fruit punch like this."

Senbikiya, who pursues taste, quality and freshness, is a confident work.

DSC01858a.jpgMask melon sherbet.

"I cut the mask melon in half, cut it out inside, cut the pulp, and returned it with a mask melon sherbet. It has been processed, but the price is the same as the original mask melon."

Have a really delicious coffee while riding a turret at Tsukiji

[Shiba Inu] January 27, 2017 14:00

Do you know a vehicle called Turret Truck?

It is very useful as a transport vehicle in Tsukiji Market.

ao04675.jpg

I've seen it!

There is a shop where you can drink truly delicious coffee while sitting on this turret. The location is close to Tsukiji Honganji Temple.

DSC_6956.jpg

Its name is Turret COFFEE <Turret Coffee> 。

DSC_6968.jpg

If you like coffee, you may already know! It's a famous shop for its "tasty book".

DSC_6967.jpgWhen you enter the shop, you'll find turret!

You can sit in the rear. I hear it's a good thing.

DSC_6966.jpgOf course, we also have regular seats.

DSC_6965.jpgAnd coffee.

Both hot and ice cream are amazingly delicious. Rich bitterness and weight of coffee, easy to drink and clear taste without turbidity. It doesn't make punch work, but it feels like wrapping it gently. Although it is a small shop, it is a space where you can calm down just away from the bustle of Tsukiji Market.

DSC_6963.jpgMr. Kawasaki, the store manager, is particular about the deliciousness of handmade coffee and seems to have been trained for a long time in the Tokai region. The one who chose Tsukiji was "something." The point was that there were a lot of delicious things around me. The location and customer layer are thick and uninterrupted.

DSC_6970.jpgThe sweets sold together are also available from handmade shops, and are moderately sweet and refreshing. It goes well with coffee and tastes good.

DSC_6959.jpgMenu The price is also good.

A long-established tradition, innovation from there luxury fruit specialty store -Senbikiya Sohonten- ①

[rosemary sea] January 27, 2017 09:00

This is rosemary sea, which covers "gifts and enjoy yourself" as a catchphrase.

DSC01790a.jpgAs you know, Senbikiya Sohonten is a famous store selling luxury fruits.

Founded in 1834 (Tenpo 5). The first member, Benzo Oshima, who was a samurai of Senbiki-no-sato, Saitama-gun, Musashi-kuni (currently Senbiki, Koshigaya-shi, Saitama Prefecture), displayed a signboard of "Water Confectionery Anurisho" in Fukiya-cho (currently Nihonbashi Ningyocho 3-chome). We opened a shop dealing with fruits and vegetables.

When he was the second generation, Bunzo, he became a merchant of the Tokugawa family, and became the third generation, Daijiro, and moved to Nihonbashi Honmachi (now Nihonbashi Muromachi).

Since then, he has always led the industry, with a groundbreaking Western-style three-story store, importing foreign fruits, improving the quality of domestic fruits such as melon and loquat, and Japan's first fruit specialty store.

Kyobashi Senbikiya and Ginza Senbikiya, respectively, were separated from Nihonbashi here in the Meiji era.

In September 2005, the Nihonbashi Main Store opened at Nihonbashi Mitsui Tower, and continues to this day.

Even though it is a long-established store, it is constantly aiming for a new stage of innovation and continues to increase sales.

DSC01792a.jpg DSC01783b.jpg

We spoke with Mr. Kawado, assistant manager of Nihonbashi Main Store, Senbikiya Sohonten Co., Ltd.

Introducing the product immediately.

DSC01785a.jpgMask melon.

"Sinbikiya's synonymous is mask melon, so it is the most product that comes out when considering mid-year and year-end gifts.

It says on the lower bill, "How many days do you usually eat?" This changes the speed of ripening day by day, so I check and rewrite every morning. The softness touched by hand, and if it is hard when hit, it sounds high. When it becomes softer, the sound is elastic like a drum, and the sound becomes lower. There is also a way to distinguish it by sound like that. The rest is the antenna, this vine, but I look at it. This antenna is getting dry little by little. Occasionally, even if the antenna is solid due to an exception, it may become soft only below, so it is not all in general. There are some difficulties because it is absolutely raw, but I study every day. If you don't touch it every day, you will not know the condition of the fruit, so everyone is studying. "

DSC01782a.jpgQueen Strawberry.

"It is produced in Miki-cho, Kagawa Prefecture. Although it has a slightly sour taste, it is recommended for this season, with a balance between sweetness, acidity and aroma. Queen strawberry is limited to producers, but the rest is not generally limited to producers, but is a system that takes good places in the production area. I know that if you specify a producer, it is the best as a producer, but there are times when you can't do it or maybe you can't do it due to bad luck, so after all I can follow you at that time. "

DSC01787a.jpgI'm sorry.

"Despite the size of orange-like fruits, the skin is thin like oranges, so it is easy to eat and has a strong taste. This month is from Ehime, but next February it will be from Nagasaki and Shimabara.

Every year, we are planning to have producers come to the store and sell them together for Queen Strawberry Tose. This time, the producers of Seka are scheduled to be held at all stores on February 25 and 26, but our shop will be closed on the 26th due to circumstances. I'll do it only for 25 days."

DSC01781a.jpgDecopon.

"This is also the season.

Mangoes and other products from Brazil in the Southern Hemisphere are rising at this time.

Bananas are also popular if they are imported. Depending on the day, it is mainly from the Philippines and Ecuador. You can also divide it into home or home souvenirs. "

DSC01786a.jpgAssorted fruits.

"We have combined it according to the customer's needs. There is a sample that such a thing is included for 20,000 yen for the time being, but there are some people who want you to send it as it is, and if you can replace it because it is not good at this .

It may take some time to send it, but when you actually send it, we may also send you what we ordered from the market. We will not send you anything that has fallen freshness. "

DSC01797a.jpgEach fruit has an explanation card next to it. The image can be enlarged by clicking.

"There are many foreign customers. Some people, including regulars, are staying at hotels here. I want you to send goods overseas, or to eat mandarin oranges in the hotel room."

I would like to introduce it again.

Mihara-do's cake (Ningyocho Main Store)

[Slow of Satsuki's Koi] January 24, 2017 14:00

Speaking of Mihara-do, I think there are many people who think about salt rice crackers. I also brought Mihara-do's salt rice cracker to go to a certain place for the New Year's greeting. It is easy to eat, so it is also recommended for souvenirs.

By the way, this time I bought a decoration cake by Mr. Mihara-do. I've always wanted to buy the cake here, but this month (January) is my eldest daughter's birthday, so I bought a celebration decoration cake. (It seems that cakes are handled only at Ningyocho Main Store.) The elegant sweetness spread to the mouth and was popular with family members.

TP170100_Mihara-do-san_02.JPG

The strawberries in the center are fresh.

TP170100_Mihara-do-san_04.JPG

The cut cross section looks like this. There are also strawberries inside.

TP170100_Mihara Do-san_06.JPG

The front of the Suitengu intersection "Mihara-do" is a Japanese confectionery corner.

TP170100_Mihara-do-san_11.JPG

On the left side, I ordered a Western confectionery corner here.

Actually, I have memories of Mr. Mihara-do. Shortly after joining the company, a female senior told me, "I will buy a cake myself on my birthday and distribute it to everyone," and I bought Mihara-do's cake (dolce cake) for a number of people. I acted. Because of the large number of people, it was quite expensive, but it was very happy to eat and it was a fun memory. As I learned later, there was no custom of acting cakes, and it was simply tampered with. At that time (more than 30 years ago), I think the Western confectionery corner was called Dolce. On the second floor, there is a coffee shop called Cafe Dolce. (Please check the business hours on the Internet, etc.)

Returning to the story, we recommend Mihara-do's Western sweets as well as Japanese sweets.
