Why don't you enjoy "Kouta"? -Mitsukoshi Theater

1. April 9, 2014 14:00

"Traditional Performing Arts" and "Entertainment Appreciation" sound a little more threshold, but among the traditional Japanese performing arts that have been going on since the Edo period, "Kouta" may be relatively familiar.

Before the collapse of the bubble economy, the three types of office workers sacred treasure were golf, go (or mahjong) and Kouta. Many people have the experience of meeting the "Kouta" review party just started by acquaintances?

On Saturday, 5th, when this year's cherry blossoms are likely to be overlooked, I came to the Kouta appreciation party. The place is the Mitsukoshi Theater on the 6th floor of Mitsukoshi Nihonbashi, where the 23rd Classic Kouta Appreciation Party is being held. This party, which claims to be "the real pleasure of tradition-listening to the essence of Edo Kokagaku", is divided into two parts and 35 performers, and the teachers of the Japan Kouta Federation. "I will return even if I stop", "Kinugi Nuno", "Shinobu Nara", "Wait" This is an example of the theme of Kouta, "Emotion" and "Iki" that make you feel like a time trip to "Edo" Right. There are also themes reminiscent of plays such as "Kawasho" and "Lost". While talking with his neighbors about his own thoughts, such as "Nikori" and "Nyari" involuntarily, and the shouts of his favourite, "This voice is pleasant to his ears." End. "Eh! That's the time?" I'm getting better and better, so I'd like to be more soaked. ・・

After the performance, I was able to talk a little to my friend, Mr. Takumi in Hamacho, who also appeared at the "Chuo-ku Traditional Performing Arts Appreciation Party", so I introduced it specially.

①    Kouta was founded by Oyo Kiyomoto in the late Edo period. Developed as a parlor art where smart people gather.

②    This time, I picked up "Edo Kokagaku", so one song was short, so it was two songs, but it was not always two songs.

③    The shamisen uses a finger without using repellency. Kouta is the only one that does not use repellent among Joruri and song music that uses the shamisen.

④    The names of the performers are "Tate ・ ・", "Spring bamboo ・ ・ ・" and "Tago / ・". I heard that there are more than 70 schools at present.

⑤    The difference from "Hauta" is that "Hauta" plays the shamisen by repelling the shamisen, and for example, Hauta is "Femic Song" and "Kouta" is chanson.

Finally, for those who thought, "Let's start learning Kouta in the future."

There is no "age limit" to get started. When you start thinking, first look for a teacher. If you contact the Japan Kouta Federation or contact the Japan Kouta Federation at such a meeting, you will be introduced to a teacher near you. (It seems good to ask the shamisenya)

It seems that there is always something for rehearsal in the training hall even if you do not prepare the shamisen from the beginning. There are many teachers who live in Chuo-ku. Even if "inheritors of traditional performing arts" are impossible, how about starting a time to immerse yourself in" the style of Edo "a little away from the busy daily life?
