Hawk dances in the sky of the New Year (Demonstration of Suwa style hawk at Hamarikyu)

[Yurikamome] December 25, 2009 08:30

Falconry (falconry): A hunting method that releases tamed hawks and catches wild birds and beasts

A demonstration of this falconry (Suwa style) will be held at Hamarikyu in the New Year.

Date and time : January 2nd and 3rd 11:00 14:00 (Twice a day)

It began about 4,000 years ago in Central Asia and was introduced to Japan in the middle of the 4th century.

A falconer is a profession that teaches hawk.

There were many falconers during the Edo and Meiji eras, but after the war, falconry was no longer performed by the government due to various circumstances, and it was handed down by private volunteers.

I would like you to think about nature and the connection between hawk and people through demonstrations.

Suwa-style hawk

It is one of the corps of hawks held by shoguns of the Edo period, and is derived from the Shinto ritual, where birds caught by hawks are served in front of the gods of Shinshu Suwa Taisha Shrine.

Hamarikyu's free volunteer guide guidance is available twice on January 2nd and 3rd at 10:00 and 13:00.

Recommended Test Test

[Mikazuki] December 24, 2009 09:30

We, Chuo-ku sightseeing correspondent, have passed the 1st Chuo-ku sightseeing certification and love history and culture. Many of you who are viewing this Chuo-ku sightseeing correspondent blog also like history and culture, so there is a certification test that I would definitely recommend.

The first is the "Chuo-ku Tourism Test", which allows you to apply for the exam until January 15.

You can study the history and culture of Chuo-ku, and if you learn what you have learned is your own study, you can also participate in sightseeing events in Chuo-ku if you are appointed as a correspondent. By showing around the long-established shops that have been around since the Edo period and writing on a blog, I think it was good to love history again.

The other is the "Edo Cultural History Test".

The application period is from summer to autumn, so the text can be purchased at bookstores.

When I wanted to study more about history, I learned about the Edo Cultural History Test and took the 4th and 3rd grades held last month. This test is narrowed down to the Edo period, and you can study a wide range of cultures that were not found in textbooks. 20% of the questions were asked from "This year's title" outside the text, and the fourth was "53rd Tokaido-Journey in Edo".

In the Edo period, I traveled on foot, so it is common to leave early in the morning. What time is the "Seven" of the lyrics "Edo Nihonbashi Seven Standings" now? There are many things that I wanted to know this rather than a history test like a problem like that, and the text can be enjoyed with lots of pictures and photos.

There are many sponsors in this certification, so by presenting the certificate, there are plenty of discounts at Oedo Onsen and Hanayashiki, and there are courses and events that only successful applicants can participate.

I read the text on my daily commuter train and enjoyed studying for about three months. Grade 1 can only be taken unless you have passed the second grade, so I'm going to take the next exam by passing this time, but Grade 1 seems to be a fairly narrow gate with a single digit pass rate. The Edo period lasts for about 260 years and is profound, so I would like to aim for passing the first grade even if it takes several years.

"Chuo-ku Tourism Certification" and "Edo Cultural History Certification"

These two tests have the same content, and the text is well-made, so you will want to read as many times as you want. For details, we recommend that you search on the website.happy01

◆Newly discovered Ako Asano family "Tenbosu Kamiyashiki pictorial map"-displayed at the Edo Tokyo Museum special exhibition-

[Akira Makibuchi / Sharakusai] December 12, 2009 20:32

At the Edo Tokyo Museum, a special exhibition "Chushingura saw by Hagimoto-The Trajectory of Wakasano Asano Family Three thousand stones" is now being held. Wakasano, Ako-gun, Harima, owned by Tatsuno City, Hyogo Prefecture, is owned by the Tatsuno History and Culture Museum in Hyogo Prefecture. Materials from Wakasano, Aioi City, Hyogo Prefecture) and Wakasano Asano family are on display. The flagship family is a branch of the Ako Asano family, and is related to Oishi built-in assistant, responsible for the processing after the Akaho incident, and took over the documents of the head family. These recently found materials are the highlights. (The photo shows the entrance of the venue. The exhibition will be held until February 7.

0913_p_091212asano.jpg One of the highlights of the exhibition is the newly discovered Ako Asano family's "Tenbosu Kamiyashiki pictorial map". At present, there is an explanation board and a monument to Takumi Asanouchi's residence (Designated Cultural Property, Tokyo) beside the St. Luke's College of Nursing in Akashicho.

Until now, there was a site map, but the inside of the site was unknown. It has been revealed for the first time now more than 300 years since the renovation.

If you put this mansion picture in front of you at the venue, you will be able to see it in size and detail.

According to a commentary at the related forum of the exhibition (held on December 12), this picture is 2.32m horizontal (south-south) x 1.44m vertical (east-west). Colored paper in the shape of a building etc. is pasted on the mount and is called "paste picture". The scale is accurate, about 1/100, and features detailed description and careful finish. The date of creation is from 1681 (1681) to 1701 (1701), between site reduction and renovation. The 4th generation feudal lord Asanouchi Takunori and his wife Akuri lived in the palace. The site tsubo is 8,794 tsubo (approximately 30,000 m2), which looks like a picture when it was reduced to about half of the original. Therefore, the Baba is as short as about 50 spaces (90m). It is said that the appearance before the Akaho incident can be read, such as the fact that there are two "stages" performing Noh.

While comparing this mansion picture with the current site, there is a moat on the west side (currently Tsukiji River Park), and was there a front gate, the face of the mansion, around here? On the south side (now St. Luke Street), there is a digging, and you can think about whether it was a landing place or a loading place with a bamboo fence fence. In addition, related materials are on display, and it is a special exhibition that can not be overlooked by interested people.

◇In the Chuo-ku HP "TV publicity" plan program, "Genroku era Akaho Incident-Reflecting in Historic Sites, Related Lands, Lectures in Chuo-ku-ku-" is posted in the story of a female lecturer and commentary by a local Tenmonkan curator. I have. Here>>

The dress of the town of Harumi

[Shitamachi Tom] 09:00 on December 9, 2009

200912 Harumi 1.jpgHarumi is the gateway to the sea in Chuo-ku.

This year marks the 80th anniversary of the completion of the land reclamation in 1929.

Initially, it was called "Tsukishima No. 4", and although it was scheduled to be a pre-war World Exposition venue, it was canceled due to the war.

wave

200912 Harumi 2.jpg At present, new urban development is progressing through waterfront redevelopment.

The bustle of the day is good, but the night view is also attractive.

Why don't you take the "Chuo-ku Community Bus" (Edo Bus) and visit Harumi?

◆Chuo-ku There is a history here <16>-A bridge name sign of Inari Bridge over Hatchobori-

[Akira Makibuchi / Sharakusai] 12:00 on December 8, 2009

The remnants of "Inaribashi" (pictured above) is located on "Tetsugunsu-dori" connecting Hatchobori and Minato districts. The name of the bridge is derived from the fact that there was Tepposu Inari Shrine. It is said that around 1624 (1624), he moved to the east side of the bridge's Minamizume and moved to his current location in 1868 (1868). The shrine is designated as a cultural property and building of the central ward.

0913_16_091207_inaribashi.jpg This is where Horikawa's "Hatchobori" was flowing. The distance from the Kamejima River to the Kyobashi River node was Hatchobori (approximately 870m), so it is said to be Hatchobori, but this Inari Bridge was the first bridge at the mouth of the mouth that poured into the Kamejima River. In the Meiji period, Hatchobori changed its name to "Sakuragawa". This area has been reclaimed, but it is still a place where you can feel the terrain like Funairi.

This bridge is also depicted in the Edo map of the Shoo era in 1653 (1653), so when the Akaho Nanji was repatriated in the Genroku era, did you cross the Inari Bridge from Eitai Bridge via Takahashi? . It is also said that Kana Heizo Hasegawa lived around the east side of the current gunpowder Inari.

Looking at the "Hundred Views of Edo" Tepposu Inaribashi Minato Shrine "(pictured below) in Hiroshige Utagawa, where Kyobashi and Ogamachi were the end, the scenery of the Ansei period is clearly reflected. Inari Bridge is drawn between two sail pillars, which may belong to a large ship anchored on the Kamejima River in the foreground, and on the left (south) there is Inari Shrine surrounded by red-painted fences. He was also revered as the god of maritime protection of water owners. Ships up and down carry cargo. You can see Sacred Peak Fuji in the far west. The old bustle of the Hatchobori estuary is photographed.

The southern side of Inaribashi was once called Minami Hatchobori. In the "Edo Famous Zoukai", it is written in the article "Minato Inari no Sha" as "North-South Hatchobori's Ubusuna". Kiyokata Kaburagi entered Suzuki School in Minami Hatchobori in 1884 and studied.

In the 1940s, Sakuragawa (former Hatchobori) was gradually reclaimed, and five bridges, including the Inari Bridge, disappeared from history. Is this "Inaribashi" bridge name mark just before landfill? The area near this bridge is Hatchobori, Minatomachi (Minato) and Irifune-cho (Irifune), etc., indicating that the names and names of towns used to be the waterside of Edo Minato. After the war, it is remembered that rowing shops and boating shops lined the eaves.

Toto norenkai (100 years from Edo to Tokyo's 3rd generation) Shigeru Kami

[Yurikamome] December 8, 2009 09:30

Do you all know the Toto Goodwill Association?

Founded in the early Meiji era from Edo to Tokyo, 53 stores are members of a long-established gathering that has been held by the family for more than 100 years.

Soba, eel, dumpling, Tsukudani, amazake, kimono, tabi, glasses, toothpicks, etc. ...

Most of the 53 stores of the Toto Goodwill Association were said to be a downtown area during the Edo period, and were born in the busiest place under the castle. Of these, 27 stores are located in Chuo-ku.

There are many famous places and historic sites near the head office of these stores, and there are many stores that will make you want to stop by if you go around with a map of "Chuo-ku Cultural Properties Tour".

I visited Shigeru Kami of Nihonbashi Muromachi and talked to Taku Inoue, Representative Director.

Shigeru Kami also belongs to the Toto Goodwill Association.

I listened to the story while showing old documents and past books.

In 1596, Ieyasu Tokugawa opened a fish market in Nihonbashi, and the Muromachi area flourished as a fish shore.

It seems that fish to be delivered to the Shogunate were collected in three places.

Nihonbashi was an important place to keep the kitchens of samurai and townspeople, but it was bustling for more than 300 years before it was relocated to Tsukiji due to the damage of the Great Kanto Earthquake.

When Mr. Taku Inoue was a child, one of the "Juken stores" listed in the "Kanei era Edo map" in Nihonbashi Muromachi was left.

There is a observation deck on the roof of the Mitsukoshi Main Store, which seems to be good far away.

At that time, there were many two-story houses, and there were greengrocers fish shop and bathhouses.

The area around Nihonbashi Muromachi today was home to many masonry people to create Edo Castle as "Honodawara Town".

"Yes" ... to offer "Daifuku Book" ... Money Book

"Shiodome" ... A place where the canal is intricate "Oiwake" ... A place where the road is divided into two

"Tsukiji" ... Reclaimed land (which also remained as the name of the town)

The expressway on Showa-dori was on the banks of the U.S.

While learning the above, I received a map of Nihonbashi Fish Market Map (around 1921) and asked various things.

In addition, we heard about the valuables of some famous shops belonging to the Toto Goodwill Association when it was founded.

 Origin of "Kami Shigeru"

The founder is Chojiro Kamizakiya and is from Kishu Kanzaki.

When Edo shogunate opened, he went to Edo and engaged in fishing, and founded in 1688 in his current location.

320 years of company history.

Later, he became Saburo Shigeru again, and his owner named Shigeru Daidai Saburo.

From the Meiji era, he took Kanzakiya's "God" and Shigeru Saburo Shigeru's "Shigeru" and called himself "Kami Shigeru".

 Why was "Halfpen" born?

The fin of the shark, which is a half-pen material, is called "Tawara Three Goods", and was one of the export seafood of Nagasaki Trade during the Edo period and was an important export source of Edo shogunate.

Offshore Shinagawa and Urayasu, there is a fishery under the direct control of the Shogunate called `` Sameba '', and after taking the `` fin '', many sharks were traded at the fish market in Nihonbashi, and Kamabokoya made it using the manufacturing method of shinjo. It is the beginning.

I'm currently ordering it from Kesennuma.
