Walking around the city even during the cold season

[Shitamachi Tom] January 28, 2010 08:30

2009 Minato Bridge. jpg

It is a cold season, but even in such a case, you can encounter various scenery if you walk in Chuo-ku.

Today, I crossed Minato Bridge from Shinkawa through Reigishi Island. There is a lot of digging around here near Kayabacho, which makes you feel the remnants of water transportation from the Edo period.

Beyond Minato Bridge, you can see the Toyomi Bridge. The bridge was damaged by the Great Kanto Earthquake and was rebuilt in the early Showa era.

In the Edo period, there was [Mifune Tebansho] around here, and it is also known as the stage of Yumie Hiraiwa's novel "Onjuku Kasemi".

It's also fun to take a walk while thinking of such an old landscape.note

Higashinihombashi Inari Tour

[North Yujin] January 19, 2010 09:00

Speaking of the temples and shrines in Higashinihombashi, Yakken-dori Fudoin is the most famous. However, the shrine is hiding behind a tour of Nihonbashi Seven Lucky Gods.

I'm going around such a minor Inari today.

First of all, from "Kawakami Inari Shrine", which stands quietly on the left alley at the entrance of the Industrial Hall Street, west of Ryogokubashi.

080.JPG

Founded in 1628 Boshin July (1628)

Located on the boarding point of the former Shogunate, Shiga moved the sanctuary to this area in April 1869 and honors Takashi. There is an explanation that it became a concurrent company of Kanda-jinja Shrine in January 1873, burned by the war in 1945, and rebuilt as a memorial to the 360th anniversary of 1988.

Next, we will go to "Yanoko Inari" on the back street of Yagenbori Fudoin.

079.JPG

 According to Engi

In 1645, the Shogunate built Yonekura near here, and was called Tanino Kura and Yanozo. In the garden, we worshiped Sansha Inari Shrine, which combined three shrines as the gods of Mikura. It consisted of Tanino Kura Inari in the center, Fukutomi Inari on the left, and Shinzaemon Inari on the right. In Genroku 11 (1698), the warehouse was relocated to the gunshot, and these three shrines Inari were also moved together, but Shinzaemon Inari was relocated in 1873, and Fukutomi Inari was relocated to "Hatsune Mori Shrine", and the current location of Tanino Tazo was changed to the location of Inari. The name was "Yanoko Inari" from some time ago.

Let's go to "Hatsune Mori Shrine" in "Yanoko Inari" Engi. Asakusabashi Minami, Nihonbashi Ryogoku Post Office.

081.JPG

According to history

The shrine was called Hatsune no Sato along the Oshu Kaido during the Genko era (around 1330).

Astronomical 20 (1551) Baba was called Deki Hatsune Baba in front of the company.

In the Edo era, half of the precincts were cut down during the construction of the Asakusa Mitsukemon gate, and after the great fire of the Meiryaku era (1657), it became the Kanto-gun Daishiki, and moved to Sumida-ku. In 1948, a shrine was built in a part of the historic site.

At this shrine, you can get a modern translation of "Musashi Abumi", which describes the devastation of the great fire of the Meiryaku era.

Also, beside the entrance, you can see the "Asakusa Gomon gate pillar" discovered in the soil in 1961.

082.JPG

Finally, there is "Tamao Inari Shrine" in the valley of the building near Kiyosubashi-dori, Higashi Nihonbashi 3-chome.

As mentioned above, I met four Inari-san in Higashi-Nihonbashi-cho.

◆Chuo-ku There is a history here <17> ~ Yatsushiro Su and Yaesu in the territories of Jan Jooss Ten worship area ~

[Akira Makibuchi / Sharakusai] January 15, 2010 12:00

In 1600 (1600), a Dutch ship drifted to Usuki, Bungo Province (now Oita Prefecture). Jan Jooss Ten and William Adams (Anjin Miura) who were on the ship were heavily used as diplomatic advisors to the Shogunate. As you know, there are traces related to Chuo-ku now.

0913_17_100115yaesu.jpgThe name of the ship is "Leafde", and its sculpture monument (Photo 4) is displayed on the south side of the Maru Building. This was given by the Royal Government in 1980 when the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of the Netherlands came to Japan. In response to the wind full of sails, it expresses the bravery sailing over the rough seas. "Leafde" means "love".

The place where Jan Jooss Ten worshiped the site was "Yasukashi", named after its name. Later, in 1797 (1797), Hiroshige Utagawa was born in the Ando family, a concentric fire extinguisher. Speaking of its current location, it is the same as Maru Building, which faces Hibiya Street in front of the Imperial Palace and Baba-Saibori. It is around 2-chome Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku.

In 1872 (1872), the area from Baba Sanmon to Kajibashi was called Yaesu-cho 1-chome and 2-chome [Note: Tokyo's 15 wards were established in 1878 (1878)]. In 1884, the Yaesu Bridge was built in outer moat. It is in front of the current Yaesu Exit of Tokyo Station. In 1929 (1929), Yaesu-cho was renamed Marunouchi 2-chome, Kojimachi-ku. The name of Yaesu disappeared from Chiyoda-ku.

In the earthquake reconstruction project, the east exit (Yaesu Exit) was constructed at Tokyo Station, and the road at the border between Kyobashi Ward and Nihonbashi Ward was widened and extended, and the main line No. 7 street was named "Yaesu Street". . From this time, it was a place separate from the original "Yatsushirosu River Bank", but did the east side of Tokyo Station, that is, the current Chuo-ku side, come to be collectively referred to as "Yaesu".

Twenty-five years later, in 1954 after the war (1954), the town name "Yaesu" was revived in Chuo-ku from 1-chome to 6-chome. At the same time, the old town names such as Gofukumachi and Makimachi disappeared. The Daimaru Tokyo store opened during this period when the outer moat on the east side of Tokyo Station was reclaimed and the Yaesu Exit was being improved.

In 1973 (1973), Yaesu 1, 2, and 3-chome were integrated into Yaesu 1-chome, and in 1978 (1978), Yaesu 4, 5, and 6-chome became Yaesu 2-chome. I have. By the way, the current Yaesu 1-chome is the former Nihonbashi area, but it is the only town name that does not have the name of "Nihonbashi", and Yaesu 2-chome is the former Kyobashi area.

From Yatsushiro Su to Yaesu--After many changes, it still has a history.

At present, As for the two monuments in Chuo-ku, the "Jan Jooss Ten Monument" (Photo 1) is located in the median strip of Yaesu Street, and the "Jan Jooss Ten Statue" (Photo 2) is located in the Yaesu Underground Shopping Center, the Anjin Miura Yashiki Ruins Monument (Photo 3) is located in the old Anjincho.

The 55th Cold Water Bathing Tournament (Tetsugunsu Inari Shrine)

[Yurikamome] January 12, 2010 12:00

On January 10 (Sun), a cold bathing tournament was held at Teppozu Inari Shrine.

Shinto ritual prays for Misogi Hae and sound health by bathing in cold water in front of the shrine in New Year.

In the Edo era, it was called Kanmisogi and Kangori, but after the war it was revived by replacing it with modern language as the "Kannaka Bathing Tournament".

Men wear Echichu loincloths and women wear white kimonos and enter ice water.

This is a traditional festival celebrating its 55th anniversary in 2010.

From 9:30 in Kagura Hall, there was a dedicated performance of Tepposhu Inari Hayashi with flutes, drums and drums.

The icicicles were carried in by truck.

The sky is clear and clear in perfect condition.

After the story of chief priest at 11:00, he conducted preparatory exercises such as Torifune, went out on public roads, ran around the shrine, sang several waka under the guidance of Mr. Michihiko, shouted and voiced to breathe and encourage the purification of spirits.

On this day, 80 people participated, including the general open call for participants, some of whom were about 75 years old.

There were about seven women.

It seems that there were also participants by airplane in Hokkaido, Miyagi, Fukushima, Ishikawa, Shizuoka, Fukuoka, etc.

Bird boat event (Torifu Negiyoji): The main focus is on rowing a boat.

This is a manners that purifies the mind and soul.

Yuken event (Otakebigyoji) ... Focus on the lower abdomen and raise a shout.

Michihiko leads the way in how to move the body and waka as the whole coordinator.

This is a manners that receives the spirit of the earth.

The operation of cutting evil with two fingers.

Air blowing event (Ibukigyoji) ... It is deep breathing.

Kanmisogi

After draining the water with a sword seal, "Ah!", And throw yourself into ice water.

He purifies his mind and body while performing a movement called "Furitama" many times, saying "Haredo Okami, Hareno Okami ...".

The group going up from the aquarium will perform bird boat events and other activities under the guidance of Michihiko. (Michihiko is the person who leads and performs this ceremony.)

A large number of training in the gunshot cold water. JPG

It seems that an accident has never occurred during this sacred event.

Also, by participating in this, it is said that you will never catch a cold.

In today's age when people are less aware of the New Year and the beginning of the year, I felt very significant to participate in such a thing.

People who are immersed in ice water are doing their souls.

This year, 80 people were divided into two sets and alternately entered the water three times.

How many times do you have? And how much ice water is in the ice water is determined by Michihiko at that time.

There was a great man holding ice after the event was over.

・・Thank you ...

In interviewing this article, I was very helpful to Mr. Tatsuo Ishikawa of Tepposu Inari Shrine "Yayoi-kai Secretary-General".

Despite my sudden visit, my family welcomed me in the reception room and gave me a kind explanation.

I thank Mr. Ishikawa and other Yayoi-kai, who have protected and maintained traditional culture, and I felt the kindness and depth of Edokko.

Pine decoration. Bamboo decorations at a famous store in Chuo-ku (second installment)

[Silver] January 8, 2010 12:00

The New Year's pine decorations are about to be cleared. Before that, one of the famous stores I covered in the second installment.

Check how to cut pine or bamboo.

The pine decoration of Hotel New Hankyu at St. Luke's Tower. Edo, it's a samurai style, isn't it?

Is it a place that says, "If you enter the town, follow the town"?

CIMG3739.jpg

The entrance of the same St. Luke's Tower. Even though the cutting method is the same, I wonder if the arrangement on the left and right is different.

CIMG3740.jpg

The pine decoration of the Shiose Sohonke, the first bun in Japan. The method of cutting bamboo is "small body type".

A large Hagoita about 1m in the back. "New Year's Kotobuki" is transmitted.fuji

CIMG3742.jpg

Miyakawa of Tsukiji. It's okay to call the main store. The kanji character of this store does not appear in this kanji.

The bamboo here is a "laughter mouth", and the tip is cut off. It's safe and secure.

CIMG3743.jpg

The restaurant "Tsukiji Tamura" This is a Kansai-style "sunto type" cut.

CIMG3744.jpg

"Rehabian" is a soba shop in the corner of Tsukiji Honganji. Decorating in Shino.

CIMG3745.jpg

Shingari offers pigs at a common price opposite Tsukiji Central Market, and lunch is also available.

It's an affordable "Tentake". This is a bamboo decoration on a signboard all year round. Don't you wear pine decorations in New Year's Day?

CIMG3747.jpg

Then, I hope that this year will be a fun year with an accent like bamboo.

I pray.

Next time, why don't you enjoy walking together while detouring the Tokyo Marathon Course?run
