Theatre of a stylish adult to enjoy in Ginza

[The cat on the slope] April 28, 2010 14:00

Chuo-ku, where many stage works have been born and nurtured.
While traditional performing arts continue to carve for many years, it has become a new work.
There are many places where you can touch it.
One of them is the Ginza Makoto Theater, created by Harold Pinter.
"Celebration Celebration Feast" directed by Kazuki Takase will be performed.

According to the officials, it is a stylish work that allows you to enjoy the new charm of Pinter.
During the consecutive holidays, she hides in a closed space a little away from the bustling Ginza main street.
While enjoying the sophisticated adult conversations that take place on the stage, play a theater street
I'd like to take care of it.

Date and time of performance: Wednesday, May 5 13:00 and 17:00

Theatre: Ginza Makoto Theater Map

Inquiries/tickets: Telephone 090-8117-1598 e-mail [email protected]

*If you apply by looking at the tourist association's website, the ticket will be reduced by 500 yen!

<Feast> (From the Flyer Commentary)

Premiered in 2000 with the production of Pinter himself. Set in a high-class restaurant in London, it depicts people like symbols of the bubble generation coming and going there. At first glance, light and humorous conversations flow out as if they were different from a series of pinter works. However, the world opposite to the world of restaurant customers who pursue only their immediate desires ... a pinter-like world is depicted on the other side. It is the mysteriousness of human beings, the power and significance of human memory, its significance, and a world that reminds us of something that we have lost.

Teahouse restoration site tour

[Sam] April 26, 2010 01:11

 CIMG1337S.JPG

At Hamarikyu, there were five Ochiyaya on the shores of a pond with tide. Many of them were built during the era of the 11th Shogun Ienari, all of which were destroyed by the earthquake and war, but Nakajima's Chaya was rebuilt in 1983. Ochiya is not only a place that not only composes the scenery of the garden, but also serves meals, breaks, and guests when visiting the garden. Unlike the tea room, which exclusively deals with tea ceremonies, there are few examples that exist.

By the way, the restoration of "Matsuno Chaya" as part of the restoration and restoration project that began in 2004. An excavation survey was conducted in 2008 to investigate the situation in foundation stone and other areas, and construction is underway based on existing materials. On April 24, a tour of the restoration work site, which was not normally visible, was held immediately after the upper wing.

About one hour was explained by people involved in the construction, such as the restoration policy, construction ingenuity and construction method, and the current situation. I was interested in listening to the stories about the use of the same materials as those at the time of construction, such as yakusugi cedar on the ceiling plate and Japanese Spanish mackerel on the roof, the connection technique called fittings and fittings, and the preservation of dynamics of foundation stone remain on the modern construction method.

Money Museum

[Mido] April 25, 2010 11:26

I went to the "Monet Museum" in Nihonbashi.
The Museum is adjacent to the head office of the Bank of Japan, and the museum has since ancient times to the present day.
Until then, Japanese coins, commemorative coins, rare coins from the world are on display.
It was established in 1982 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Bank of Japan's founding, and opened in November 1985, attracting 70,000 visitors annually.
It seems that there are 3 million coin collections owned by the museum, but about 5,400 of them are on display.

After entering the exhibition room through the lobby covered with red carpets, there is a large-sized oval there. The gold lump related to the Owari Tokugawa family, which is said to be the "heritage of Ieyasu Tokugawa," was conspicuous.
I felt strangely nostalgic, such as Tomomi Iwakura's 500-yen bills and Taisuke Itagaki's 100-yen bills, Ito Hirobumi's 100-yen bills.

What surprised me about the world's rare currency was the German banknote, a 100 trillion mark mark bill when inflation hit. Further up is Hungary's 1 billion pengo tag! The number of digits of 0 is 29 digits.
I was surprised at the stone coins weighing 100kg and a diameter of 3.6m.
In addition, we sold interesting goods such as an experience corner where the actual weight of 100 million yen, a banknote cracker, and a gold bar yokan, so we were able to enjoy it more than expected.

What is the 1 billion pengo?
=10 yrillion
pengo = 1 × 1021 Pengo = 1, OOO, OOO, OOO, OOO, OOO, OOO, OOO, OOO
It seems that 21 zeros are lined up.

Goodbye to the Kabukiza Theater for a while

[Shitamachi Tom] April 21, 2010 12:00

2010kabukiza1000.JPG [Kabukiza] will finally be closed this month only.

Every day, many people who regret their remnants are coming in.sprinkle

Even on this day, in the rainy weather, people come together. I tightened my ticket and slowly passed through the front door which I had passed many times. As soon as you enter, you will be wrapped in the air of the playhouse.

2010kabukiza2000.JPGThe audience's excitement spreads more than usual. In the tightly packed spectator seats, you can see the attitude of burning the last performance firmly in your eyes.

As you know, the current [Kabukiza] was built in the current style in 1925 after several renovations, and was rebuilt in 1951 after being destroyed by the war. It has long been loved by people as the origin of Japanese Kabuki culture.heart

2010kabukiza3000.JPGRather than Higashiginza, I think that the atmosphere of "Kibiki-cho ..." is more like an atmosphere.

Let's say goodbye for a while until the next generation of theaters opens in three years. The "stick board" (a board that beats the clap as the sound effect of the stage) set up in front of the "formal curtain" seemed to have a feeling of regret.weep

The play culture that shines brilliantly in Chuo-ku will continue to nurture history. Even while Kabukiza is closed, you can enjoy it at several theaters such as Shimbashi Enbujo, Meijiza, Mitsukoshi Theater, and Le Theatre Ginza.

I would like to continue to value it as a flower of urban culture.good

Promenade at the site of Kaikaikan and secret places

[The cat on the slope] April 12, 2010 16:23

From famous tourist spots such as Sumiyoshi-jinja Shirine and Nishinaka-dori.

Perhaps because it's a bit far away, there are not many visitors, but

Along the revetment facing the Harumi Canal at Tsukuda 3-chome can be said to be a well-known promenade.

There is a monument to the site of the Kaikaikan. Kaikaikan was established in 1905.

This is the Kappo cuisine Ryokan. At that time, Tokyo Bay spread out in front of you, and you can see the mountains of Boso.

It was said that many cultural people stayed at Kaikaikan because it was a scenic place.

Toson Shimazaki's "Spring" and Kaoru Osanai's "Okawabata" are works born here.

"Let's see the winter sea and make the New Tsukuda Sea Water Museum wabi live."

(From Isamu Yoshii, songbook "Poison Utsugi")

And there is another highlight that is never listed in the guidebook.

Along the inside of the revetment, there are mini gardens as far as the eye can see.

Seasonal flowers are planted in each block.

It would be fun to walk while comparing it to the next block.

Use this kind of seawall, which is only a concrete fence, to enjoy the enjoyment of eco and horticulture.

What is it? It is a hat to the flexible ideas and aesthetics of the local people.

From Izumi Bridge to Kanda River, Sumida River, Jisshi Park

[Silver] April 11, 2010 09:44

Hello everyone. I had never walked from Izumi Bridge to Asakusabashi, so I went around.

It's a good season when dandelion is in full bloom. Well, what kind of encounters and discoveries do you have today?

CIMG4466.jpg

It is impossible to walk along the Kanda River to Asakusabashi, but while thinking about the old days.run

CIMG4465.jpg

For a long time, Yanagihara has a beautiful woman. Introducing international students who were lost, pachiri!

CIMG4481.jpg

The ruins of the county mansion in Asakusabashi are omitted because Sharaku Sai has announced it. Ryogoku Post Office is located in Chuo-ku.

CIMG4489.jpg

It's Hatsune Mori Shrine next door. Let's take a look.

CIMG4490.jpg

Please refer to the explanation of "The Great Fire of the Meiryaku era". No, let's be careful of fire.

CIMG4493.jpg

At the landing on the second floor, the history is explained.

CIMG4495.jpg

I came from Kawabata to Yanagibashi. You can hear the scent of camellia oil and the chinton chan.

CIMG4497.jpg

At the foot of Ryogoku Bridge. Dogs and walks from Musashi no Kuni to Shimousa also entered the angle.

CIMG4500.jpg

Read the monument of Ryogoku Hirokoji Temple. Cross the pedestrian crossing

CIMG4501.jpg

After all, let's walk along the Sumida River Terrace.

CIMG4504.jpg

Look at the water bus, Himiko, etc. on your left, and look right at buildings such as the "button museum" on your right.

Let's go up here.

CIMG4511.jpg

Pass Koza-dori in front of Hisamatsu Police Station and Kasama Inari Shrine to Ningyocho Station.

CIMG4513.jpg

At Ningyocho Station, pass in front of "Genji Store Ruins" and "Ubukeya", and look left at Sugimori Shrine and Takarada Ebisu Shrine.

In front of Kodemmacho Station. On April 10th, pure white lotus flowers were in full bloom. (What is the scientific name of this tree?)

CIMG4534.jpg

Study history at Jisshi Park at the ruins of a prison where Shoin Yoshida and others were imprisoned.

If you are interested in history and Chambara, we recommend "Otamaga Pond Ruins" a little ahead.

CIMG4537.jpg

Return to Kodemmacho Station, go about 50m toward Bakurocho Station, and return on the "Edo Bus".

CIMG4552.jpg

Now, the peach blossoms in front of the ward office are beautiful, and even if you are on the Edo bus (ride fare: ¥ 100).

You can enjoy seasonal flowers such as lotus and cherry blossoms around Suitengu.
