The trace of residence in Kamono Mabuchi Prefecture

[Taro Hama] July 31, 2011 22:18

Speaking of Kamono Mabuchi, along with Motoori Norinaga, Atsutane Hirata and Azumamaro Kadano, it is still regarded as one of the four major national studies. The inscription of Kamono Mabuchi hangs on the wall of Nihonbashihisamatsucho on Kiyosubashi Street.

Kamono Mabuchi is nowHamamatsu-shiAt the age of 37, he entered Azumamaro Kadano in Fushimi, Kyoto.

After the death of Shiharuman, at the age of 41 at Mabuchi, he descended to Edo and was collected by Munetake Tayasu (the second son of Yatsushiro Shogun Yoshimune) for Japanese studies, and his residence was given to Tayasumon.

In 1764, at the age of 68, Mabuchi moved his residence to Nihonbashihamacho, and he himself called this new house "Prefectural residence" (Agata I). "Prefectural residence" means "country residence", and let's do it because both houses and gardens were made in a rural style.

According to the inscription, the location of "Prefectural residence" is about 100 meters northeast of this point, so I guess it is probably near the red bus in the photo (currently Nihonbashihamacho 1-chome).

In Hamacho's "Prefectural residence", we often hold "Tsukimi no Utakai", and the song at that time is written in the inscription. .

As you say, "Slow down Hara, where the dew went down," at that time, this area was a field where you could hear the sound of insects, and I think it was a windy countryside that you could not imagine today.

In the life of 1769 and 73 years of Mabuchi, I personally imagine that it was the land I loved most as a "prefectural residence" despite being in this area for only six years.

Visit the stage of Kabuki-Genji-ten-"Gokushi"

1. July 31, 2011 11:36

"Yonajo Fukina Yokokushi" is a popular performance of Kabuki, commonly known as "Otomi Yosaburo" and "Kirire Yozo". Recently, Kabukiza Sayonara performed last January, "Yosaburo / Tomi" Many people have seen it performed at "Somegoro / Fukusuke". This kyogen was based on the true story of Izaburo Yoshimura, the fourth generation of Nagauta, based on a lecture by Bunsha Ichiryusai, and was adapted to Kabuki Kyogen by Joko Segawa. The premiere is a feature-length feature of 9 acts and 30 places in 1853 (Edo Nakamuraza, 8th Danjuro, 5th Kikugoro), but now the second act `` Kisarazu Hamabemisome '' fourth act `` Genji store concubine house '' Most of the performances are performed.

The stage of the fourth act of "Genji Store", which began with a well-known line of "Goshinzo, Ouchigi, wealth, no Saotomi, it's been a long time" was the stage of this "Genji Store" . At that time, Genji's store was famous as a concubine residential area in Edo, and with that, "Genji" was replaced by "Genji". → It was replaced with "Genji" and moved to Kamakura to make it "Genji store".

The Genji store is near the current Ningyocho 3-chome intersection, and there is a historical monument in front of the drugstore next to the Mitsubishi UFJ Bank at the intersection. According to the explanation board set up under the name of the Chuo-ku Board of Education

100_0149.JPG

"In the early Edo period, this area around Shinwa Izumicho was called "Genji-ten" because there was a worship house of Genya Okamoto, a doctor of the Shogunate. According to the Kanpo gu ticket map, the worship house is "60 Omotekyoma back, 25 Kyoma, 1,500 tsubo". It is reported that descendants lived here for nine generations after that, and repatriated the land during the Meiji Restoration. "Omitted."

As you know, "stores" are rented houses. Genji, who became famous for treating the pox of Iemitsu and became famous, was a worship house (wide! I built a rented house in a rented house and rented it to the common people, so "Genji Store (Genji's rented house)"

100_0150.JPGAfter that, it seems to have become a common name for the whole area. Behind the Mitsubishi UFI Bank, "Tachibana Inari Shrine" (a gift from the Shogun family and took the name of Tachibana, the family crest of the Okamoto family. It is said that it is worshiped as a god of fire protection), there is the site of the former Suehirotei, and the three-star Michelin "Genji store Hamada family" is also nearby. It is a narrow area one block from the intersection, but why don't you go back a little and play in the world of Kabuki? The wealth of bathing with a red bran bag with a red bran bag and a snake's eye umbrella may appear in the background of "Smart Black Fence, Overlooking pine".

By the way, "virginan fukina Yokokushi" (Otogo no Mikina no Yokogushi) commonly known as "Kiri-Otomi" is a rewritten Kyogen (parody) written by Avenge Ami to Mizedanosuke, and his wealth is in love with Yosaburo (34 places in Yosaburo, 75 hands in wealth), and "I'm sorry for a long time. Recently, in May 2015, the Progress Theater performed at the National Theater. I've missed this. I'm sorry!

Hakodateya-original ice cream shop

[Yotaro] July 29, 2011 08:30

IMG_0493.JPG The hot summer has come again this year. When you go out in the hot weather, you just get your hands on shaved ice and ice cream.

Ice, as is known in the story of Kaga Domain's ice offering on June 1 (the lunar calendar) during the Edo period, seems to have been eaten only by noble people. After the Meiji Restoration, he moved to Yokohama, and in Tokyo in 1872 (1872), Hakodate's natural ice was sent to the ice room in Shintomi-cho and sold to citizens. It seems that artificial ice was founded in 1883 (1883), when an ice making company was established in Shinsakaemachi, Kyobashi Ward. ("History of Chuo-ku")

Ice cream was introduced by foreigners at the end of the Tokugawa period, and in 1869, a person named Fuzo Machida opened an ice shop on Bashamichi Street in Yokohama, and sold it with a banner called "Aisukurin". ("Milk and Japanese") However, it seems that foreigners rarely stopped by and suffered a great loss. The ice cream was sold to the general public around 1879 and 13 (1879, 80) at Hakodateya in Ginza, and "Chuo-ku Fumishita" said it was probably the first shop in Japan.

Shin Okura (1831-?), the owner of the Hakodate shop, is said to be the former Owari clansman, and is the remnant party of Hakodate Goryokaku, who fought according to Takeaki Enomoto. In 1876 (1876), Mount Fuji was formed at 2-9 Hiya, Owari-cho, Kyobashi-ku (now around 6-9-7 Ginza). (Roan Uchida's "Ginza Prosperity", Shogetsu Yamamoto's "100 episodes of Meiji Seso") He was said to be a strange man and famous man in Ginza in an unexpected Australian language of customers, such as a drum belly like a beer barrel, wearing clogs on clothes, etc. Was Roan Uchida says that the presence of a grandfather at Hakodateya is proud of Ginza, and that the disappearance of the store is even the loss of Ginza.

IMG_0473.JPG The grandson of Shindaizo is actor Kinzo Shin (1910-1988). He has been active as a famous supporting role for a long time and has appeared in many movies and TVs. He is a graduate of Yasuaki Elementary School. His writing, "Genso Ice Cream Hakodateya", states, "Grandpa borrowed money from Takeaki Enomoto and opened Hakodateya," "How to make ice cream from a Frenchman of the Shogunate adviser during the Hakodate War. I got it. " By the way, what was the taste of the ice cream at Hakodateya? I'm writing this.

"My misfortune is that ice cream grew up thinking that the house is the best, so I still can't afford the ice cream at any shop and I can't feel like eating it."

The graves of the Hakodate family and Kinzo Shin are located in Yanaka Cemetery.

Along with the town walking tour "Nihonbashi Long-established Course 1-Ninben, Eitaro Sohonbu, Yamamotoyama-"

[O umbrella] July 7, 2011 08:30

On the morning of July 5 (Tuesday), it was a sunny and hot day, but we led a customer of the town walking tour “Nihonbashi Long-established Course 1” hosted by the Chuo-ku Tourism Association with correspondent “Catherine”.
All of the long-established stores are famous stores such as "Ninben", "Eitaro Sohonho", and "Yamamotoyama", which were founded in the Nihonbashi area during the Genroku era and Ansei era in the Edo era. We had you explain about the history and products.

The tour started by gathering by 10:00 in front of "Ninben" on the first floor of Choledo Muromachi and explaining the participants' confirmation, precautions, questionnaires, etc. The required time per store is about 40 minutes, including the explanation of the store, shopping, and moving to the next store. Below, we will briefly introduce the descriptions of each long-established store and recommended products.

[Ninben]

IMG_0626coltcomp.JPG IMG_0883coltcomp.JPG
Mr. Tomita explained the history of the store and the products.

IMG_0885coltcomp.JPG IMG_0887tcolcomp.JPGIt seems that the beginning of Genroku 12 (1699) during the Edo period, the first generation, Ihei Takatsu, lined up doorboards in Nihonbashi with "no cash price" and started trading bonito and salt dried fish. Mitsui Echigo-ya started the business of "no cash discount", but the first Ihei also built confidence at a low price.
Also, at the end of the Edo period, "Ninben Bonitobushi Store" issued the first gift certificate in the world. The gift certificate at that time was a stamped silver thin plate, and then turned into paper.

IMG_0634tcolcomp.JPG

It seems that new products have been developed with the relocation to Cored Muromachi and is popular. Natto Japanese sweet "Iromame Hoheto". You can enjoy various kinds of flavors.

Then, with a new idea, he started "Nihonbashi Dashiba", which offers "Katsuobushi rice", which is said to never get tired of eating every day. Under the theme of the basics of Japan's unique food culture, one soup and one rice, lunch menus include "Katsubushimeshi" and "Soup" (350 yen) (in July, cold mozuku soup, meat dumpling sesame miso, mokuzu soup) And "dashi drink" (bonito-bushi, bonito and konbu taste, etc. are offered at a restaurant, 100 yen per cup). We had a little salt in "dashi drink" (bonito-bushi and konbu flavor) to prevent heat stroke. It was hot and delicious.

It happened that the president, Katsuyuki Takatsu, came to the store and greeted him.

[Eitaro Sohonpo]
IMG_0900tcolcomp.JPG  Mr. Nishiwaki explained the history of the store and the products.
In the Edo period (1857), Yasubee Hosoda (young name: Eitaro) sold "Kintsuba", which was named from the sword Tsuba on the banks of Nipponbashinishi. It seems to be. It seems that the name of the shop was changed from "Izutsuya" to "Eitaro" after his childhood name.

It is a store curtain with the name of the store, but the color is said to be white on a dark blue background in Edo and white on the upper part.

IMG_0903colcomp.JPGAt the entrance, there is a large red stone "Akadamaishi", which is a red stone carried from Sado at the villa of the Koza official "Goto" who manufactured the oval in the late Edo period. It seems that this was handed over by the first Anbei (Eitaro). There is a good benefit, and there is a good idea to pray with a lottery ...
Since the villa of "Goto" was handed over, valuable paintings of Oukyo Maruyama were included in it, and Mr. Hosoda currently has it. I'd like to see it.

IMG_0916tcolcomp.JPGAfter entering the store, the "Japanese Confectionery Eitaro Main Store Mansion Factory" (written by Shinya Shibata) is displayed on the left wall, but at the "Bangkok Invention Expo" held in London in 1885 (Meiji 18) It is a valuable thing exhibited to explain Eitaro's manufacturing process, and is said to be the inhabitant of the ward Tangible Cultural Property in Chuo-ku.

IMG_0915coltcomp.JPGIn the introduction of the products, of course, there was famous confectionery's Kintsuba, but he emphasized the stick-shaped ball-shaped ball. It is a rare confectionery in the world that uses this wasabi as a raw material and is said to be Eitaro's original product. It is said that it is made by mixing sugar and grilled rice flour (steaming glutinous rice into rice cakes, baking and crushing), mixing the grounded Yamato potatoes and wasabi, and wrapping them in kneaded rice cakes. It seems that the soft touch and wasabi taste are good. Some of the participants were asked to buy it.

In addition, matcha candy, black candy, tea candy, throat candy (released in the spring of 2010), sweet name sugar (Amanatsuto: Nihonbashi limited), plumboshi candy, Arihira sugar (Aruheito: Nanban Watari sugar confectionery), freshly made bread etc. There was introduction. O umbrella I bought Eitaro candy and Kuzumochi.

IMG_0928coltcomp.JPG
There was also a restaurant in the restaurant where you can enjoy meals, sweets, shaved ice, etc. at reasonable prices.
Weekdays are from 9:00 (9:30 on Saturday) to 18:00, meals are lunchtime: From 11:00 to 17:00 (Saturday at 15:30).

[Yamamotoyama]
When I entered the shop, I was guided to the cafe in the back. There are 16 seats on the table, and it is a small room based on black, but there is a large red parasol in the accent, and ukiyo-e on the surrounding walls, giving you the atmosphere of Edo.
In each seat, there were cool water tea and hojicha plastic bottles in glass vessels, rice crackers, seasoned seaweed, etc.

IMG_0622colcomp.JPG IMG_0962comp.JPG
At first, Mr. Inoue (male) talked about the history of the store.
In Genroku 3 (1690) during the Edo period (1690), Kahei Yamamoto (the first generation) went out of Kyoto to Edo and traded tea.
Yamamotoyama was the product name of Uji Sencha, which was sold during the Edo period. It seems that it became the name of the store in 1941.

Next, there was an explanation of the product received from Ryo Chiki (female).
Fukamushi Sencha seems to be delicious even when watered, and in fact it was delicious because I walked outside the hot weather. Two types of seasoned seaweed (ume and sesame flavor) and two types of tea friend "Nori Senbei" are recommended.

IMG_0943comp.JPGRecently, they sell Brazilian tea in autumn. October is the spring of the Southern Hemisphere, a new tea season. It seems that the quality of Brazilian tea is as good as Japanese tea.

Then, it was broadcast on the TV commercial (early 1940s) of the example, "Yamamotoyama, even if you read from the top, Yamamotoyama even if you read from below", but it seems that tea cultivation is performed on the mountain rather than flat ground, Yamamoto It is said that it is Yamamotoyama because it is a mountain of Sanchi's tea garden.

Mr. Chiki was carefully answering questions from the participants while pouring water tea to the participants. .

IMG_0969comp.JPG
The coffee room menu consists of matcha, Gyokuro, Hojicha, Kombucha, Sencha (specialty deep steaming, Shizuoka, Uji, Sayama, Kagoshima Chiran, Fukuoka Yame) tea and Japanese sweets set (600 yen), tea and rice crackers (400 yen) ... Japanese sweets and rice crackers are collaborations with Japanese sweets "Nihonbashi Nagato".
And it is ochazuke (900 yen, green tea pickled + green tea ume taste + Nagato Japanese sweets + Example tea). I want to try it once.

IMG_0889coltcomp.JPGAs mentioned above, there was a nostalgic Pessen "Nihonbashi Edo Long-established Tour" with the logos of "Ninben", "Eitaro Sohonpo", and "Yamamotoyama" at every shop.

Participants listened to the explanation at each shop, and enjoyed shopping such as recommended items.

I think that everyone was very good in 2 hours. With the souvenirs and shopping items received from the shop, I returned home with a regret.
I'm glad I could lead you safely!

The photo below is taken from each long-established store on this course. Thank you very much.

Go through the town while looking at the building where you are going.

[Shitamachi Tom] July 6, 2011 08:30

In Chuo-ku, there are many buildings that have a wonderful atmosphere while getting older.

Today, I walked [Heisei-dori] from Hatchobori to Tsukiji while looking at such a stylish building.

Tomojosha Building. jpg

First, near Hatchobori Station, facing [Yaesu Street] that leads to Tokyo Station, the building of [Tomojosha] shows a distinctive appearance.

It is reminiscent of the former appearance of Tokyo, and even the breath of modern merchants seems to be heard.

The building of [Kikumasamune Tokyo Branch] is located right next to Shintomicho Station.

From Showa 2 to Showa 36, it was [Shochiku headquarters].

Next to this building, there is a building where the Kyobashi Tax Office is located on the site of Shintomiza. His historical interest spreads.
