Take the Tokiwa Bridge Gomon from Shibakuchi Gomon.

[Chuo Kotaro] April 27, 2015 09:00

Hello, I'm Chuo Kotaro who likes to walk around. I became a correspondent from this April.

Today, from Shimbashi, around Kaedegawa and Nihonbashi Rivers, I checked the geography by hanging around the places I was interested in when I was studying the Chuo-ku Tourism Test.

First of all, the site of Shibakuchi Gomon. From the Minato-ku side, enter Sotobori-dori St. into Chuo-ku, go southeast along the Metropolitan Expressway, and go a little over Chuo-dori to the left. A stone monument is installed along with a wooden signboard, and the picture of the copper plate embedded in the stone monument shows the fineness of the gate at that time. I imagine that it was a fine gate suitable for the entrance to Edo Castle, which was set up on the old Tokaido from the Shinagawa area and crossed the former Shiodome River.

Next is the main pillar of the Shipping Bridge. There is a Oita distance from the site of Shibakuchi Gomon, and the place suddenly flew, but I was worried because it was difficult to imagine the place at the time of the sightseeing test and it was difficult to remember it. From Shibakuchi Gomon, go northeast along Mihara-dori between Chuo-dori and Showa-dori, and from around Kyobashi, go northeast along Antique Street as well.

Cross Eitai-dori St., thinking that you want to eat someday while watching the procession of eel box rice Tamai, and turn right after Taimeiken. After passing Showa-dori, we found a main pillar around the capital height of the former maple river, which was now reclaimed, and successfully eliminated the sprout during the sightseeing test.

After this, I discovered the Kabuto-cho History Map near the birthplace of the bank (Mizuho Bank), and found a map of the confluence of the Kaede River and Nihonbashi River, and imagined that time.

Today, I also wandered along the Nihonbashi side from Reigishi Bridge over the Kamejima River to the site of Tokiwa Bridge Gomon.

Unfortunately, the site of the Tokiwa Bridge gate was under construction (which seems to have been damaged in Great East Japan Earthquake) and was rarely seen. About this time today.

When you enter this museum, designed with an elevator, calm appearance, and light lighting up to the 7th floor of the Mitsui Main Building.
There is a sense of being released from the hustle and bustle of the world. The tea ceremony developed during the Muromachi period in Kamakura, which ended in the war, is a tea ceremony.
In such a situation, the tea room "Nyoan", which may have provided a temporary samurai seeking peace of mind, is reproduced.

The history of Mitsui dates back to Ise and Matsuzaka for about 350 years, during the Edo period.
Overcoming many hardships in the kimono and cotton kimono store division (Mitsui Echigoya) and the financial division (Mitsui currency exchange store).
It's up to now. The ukiyo-e of Muromachi 2-chome, where Mount Fuji can be seen, still has its impression.
It is said that there are more than 20,000 companies in Japan that have been in business for more than 100 years, and it seems like a world-class long-lived company.
Many are small and medium-sized long-established stores, but Mitsui is a global Japanese company representing large stores (Odana).

Looking at the left hand from the street, you can see a cute dog parent and child statue.

It's a famous dog Chirori Monument.

The birthplace of Edo Kabuki and Brother

[Dimini ☆ Cricket] April 20, 2015 09:00

At Kyobashi 3-chome, beside the expressway that separates Ginza and Kyobashi, there is a monument to the birthplace of Edo Kabuki.

This is because in the first year of Kanei (1624) in the early Edo period, the founder of Nakamuraza, Kanzaburo Saruwaka (Nakamura) fried a Kabuki performance tower (Yagura) in Nakahashi Nanchi (currently near Kyobashi 1-chome). It is due to the fact that it was done. This was the origin of Edo Kabuki.

In the upper center of the monument, mimicking the tower, you can see Nakamuraya's regular crest and Tsunokiri Ginkgo.

brothe4.JPG

Next to the monument stands, there is Brother's Tokyo Showroom.

brothe2.jpg

Brother Industries Co., Ltd. started in sewing machine manufacturing and is now a listed company (headquartered in Nagoya) boasting a strong brand power in facsimiles, copy machines, etc. Kaneyoshi Yasui was founded in 1908 (Meiji 41), and the trade name of Brother was derived from the fact that Masayoshi Yasui inherited the business in 1925 and changed the company name to Yasui sewing machine brother business association. It seems to be

At the entrance of this Tokyo showroom, there are large photographs of the image characters Kantaro Nakamura and the Shichinosuke brothers (Brothers). Needless to say, the Kantaro and Shichinosuke brothers were Nakamuraya, the sons of the eighteenth generation Kanzaburo Nakamura, who died three years ago, and had been concerned about the relationship with the monument next door for a long time.

So, at the reception of Brother Tokyo Showroom, "I should solve the question," I asked about that point, and found that the birthplace of Edo Kabuki and the appointment of Nakamuraya Brothers were not particularly relevant. However, there was a similar question from the customer. That's right.

The photo below shows Nakamuraza reproduced at the Edo Tokyo Museum (Sumida-ku).

◆Local Tenmonkan special exhibition "Tsukiji Small Theater and its surroundings" is being held!

[Akira Makibuchi / Sharakusai] April 16, 2015 14:00

At the Chuo Ward Folk Tenmonkan (Time Dome Akashi), a special exhibition "Tsukiji Small Theater and its surroundings-Focusing on New Collections-" began on April 11 (Saturday). In addition to performance posters and stage equipment models related to Japan's first permanent theater permanent theater "Tsukiji Small Theater", it displays a collection of new materials. Admission is free until May 24th (Sun).

0913_592_150411tukijishugeki.jpgThe Tsukiji Small Theater was formed in 1924 (1924) mainly by Yoshi Hijikata and Kaoru Osanai. The performance continued during the "New Theater Movement" at that time, and a theater company that led to today was born. It was destroyed by fire in the Tokyo air raid in March 1945 and closed its curtain. The site is 2-11-17 Tsukiji, with monuments and explanation boards erected.

The exhibits include a layout drawing of the small theater and a number of performance posters coloring the pre-Showa War period. The theater, with less than 500 seats, was said to have a slope on the floor to make it easier for spectators to see the stage. It is natural now, but it was the first facility in Japan at that time.

There are many new collections such as original drawings and costume image drawings of Tanabe who was in charge of stage equipment at Tsukiji Small Theater and played an active part in the movie world after the war, so it seems that you can get a glimpse of the essence of stage creation. @ Akira Makibuchi
