The 29th Oedo Festival Bon Dance Festival in Chuo-ku

[Sam] August 25, 2018 14:00

DSC07078ELS'.jpgP8241731RS'G.jpg On August 24 and 25, the 29th Chuo-ku Oedo Festival Bon Dance Festival was held at Hamacho Park (Nihonbashihama-cho 2). .

The magnificent wadaiko and singing voice echo in the night sky, centered on the large turret colored by Japanese lantern, the circle of dance spreads in multiple layers, and the venue is filled with enthusiasm.

There are plenty of fun, including the fair corner, familiar specialty markets in the ward, friendship and exchange cities with local specialties (Hinohara Village, Fujikawaguchiko Town, Higashine City, Tochigi City, Tamano City) / antenna shop corner.

A total of 14 songs have been added, including the ward's original song "This is Edo Bon Dance", and "Tokyo Olympics Ondo-2020-", which was remade to foster a spirit for the Tokyo 2020 Games from this year.

It is a festival that conveys history, tradition, and "smart and humanity" with a feeling that has been completely established as a summer tradition in the main ward.

Scenery from the ship Scenery from the river

[HK] August 23, 2018 12:00

There is a favorite scenery at the point overlooking the Sumida River toward Asakusa, Eitai Bridge in the back and Cheongju Bridge in the front.

While turning around the heavy Eitai Bridge, you tend to be absorbed in the contrast between the elegant Cheongju Bridge and the Tokyo Sky Tree, but there is a skyscraper with a gate-like pyroti in the direction of Hakozaki (left hand).

It seems that both sides are living spaces, and the floor above Piloti is used as an office.

Going upstream Sumida River, I have a favorite view point of mine in between Eitaibashi Bridge and Kiyosubashi Bridge.
People usually look back to see stately Eitaibashi Bridge as well as looking forward to see elegant Kiyosubashi Bridge and Tokyo Skytree behind, but there is an interesting builiding adopting piloti frame on the Hakozaki (letf) side of the river. Both sides of lower floors are residence and floors above piloti are for business offices.

CIMG2469.JPG

Of course, I like Eitai Bridge and Cheongju Bridge, but the buildings seen from the river look different from those seen on the ground. Viewing the scenery from the boat is one of the best sightseeing spots to recommend.

Eitaibashi Bridge and Kiyosubashi Bridge are also lovely, but observing various buildings from the river is so different from seeing them on the ground that can attract you so much.

River cruising is one the activity that can never let you down.

[August Limited] How about a gin filled with the scent and history of Scotland?

[Hanes] August 22, 2018 18:00

Hello. This is a new correspondent, Hanes.
We have introduced two places in Chuo-ku where you can enjoy overseas culture and cuisine.
Do you need an airplane? Excursions in Greece and Italy[Russian Year in Japan] Russian culture to enjoy in Chuo-ku
Have you already checked the Scottish Gin & Tonic Gallery, which is open at Suitengumae Station only in August?

IMG_0202.JPG

There are many restaurants in the ward that serve English cuisine, but there are many restaurants in the ward.
This shop only sells Scotland gins for August only.
I was invited to a fashionable gin bottle that I don't usually see, and went to the store....

IMG_0181.JPG

The interior is full of Scotland!
Harris Gin's poster, a poster showing the state of the Hebridez Islands.
Harris Tweed goods, maps showing gin distillation in Scotland, various tartans...
Perhaps because I've lived in Scotland, I'm not tired of watching it all the time.

SGT.jpg

As mentioned above, gin is the main restaurant, but in August we also offer lunch with Scotland ingredients specially.
You can have an open sandwich with Scotland smoked salmon and scallops tartar.
This time, I ordered smoked salmon open sandwiches and gin tea.

IMG_0187.JPG

The thick salmon smoked with peat had a nostalgic taste, saying, "This is Scotland salmon!"
When it comes to fresh and delicious fish, Japanese names are often listed even when searching all over the world.
As for smoked salmon, it's still Scotland.
At a supermarket in U.K., besides Smoked Salmon, it was written as Scottish Smoked Salmon.
As you can see the package, Scotland smoked salmon is exceptional in Japan!
Since it is higher than those from other production areas, places where you can eat this way in Japan are very valuable.

And the cheddar cheese from Scotland that was accompanied was
According to the clerk, "I'm salty, so please tear it little by little."
It's rich in Japanese cheese, and the smoked flavor goes well with open sand.
It tastes better for whiskey than wine, and I also felt Scottish here.
This cheese seems to be available on the saketry website.
It was exhibited in a cute show window inside the store.

IMG_0192.JPG

And the gin tea I ordered is non-alcoholic tea.
It is a blend of ingredients used in botanical gin scenting, such as Juniper Berry, Angelica Route, Koreander Seed, lycolis, cinnamon, orange peel, etc.
From this photo, you can see Juniper Berry, which is famous for its fragrance of gin.
There is no doubt that it is a rare drink that allows you to know the source of the gin scent.

IMG_0183.JPG

On this visit, I ordered the main gin and missed it.
Here you can taste the premium gin of Scotland (especially from the distillery in the islands), which will be the first landing in Japan.

IMG_0195.JPG

They are scented with materials harvested on the island where the distillery is located.
Some of them used Angelica, which was brought to Oakney by Nord people in the past.
A selection of gins that condensed land materials, history and culture
It is a restaurant that I would like to recommend for those who like alcohol!

Hamacho Park in Midsummer

[Dimini ☆ Cricket] August 20, 2018 12:00

haman201801.JPG

Hamacho Park is located in 2-chome Nihonbashihama-cho, a park in Chuo Ward.

haman201802.JPG

It is the largest park in Chuo-ku.

haman201803.JPG

The trees in the park are dark green, and the cicadas of Minminzemi and Abrazemi have fallen.

haman201804.JPG

However, because of the dark green, there are few flowers during this season.

haman201807.JPG

At present, the flowers in the park are Lantana and Salsberg.

Lantana is a flower originating from the tropics, is very resistant to heat, and blooms well even in the hot summer months of Japan.

haman201808.JPG

As the name crape myrtle, Salsberg is a flowering tree that blooms for a long period from early summer to autumn.

What was blooming in the park was white sarsberg

haman201809.JPG

In the area near the Sumida River in the park, pampas grass stretches silver-white spikes.

haman201810.JPG

Pampas grass is a perennial plant of the family Riceaceae, native to Argentina and southern Brazil, similar to Japanese pampas grass.

It makes you feel the coming of autumn.

Summer Festival in Chuo-ku! “Summer Festival 2018” @ Hamacho Park

[Edamame] August 20, 2018 09:00

This is Edamame, a correspondent with children.

Today, I've been working for the first time in a long time.

Today, Sunday, August 19 at Hamacho Park

Co-hosted by the Japan Tug of War Federation, Chuo-ku Shopping Street Association, and Chuo-ku Tourism Association

"Summer Festival 2018" was held.

http://www.chuo-kanko.or.jp/#we-page-single-entry?spot=236032

I've helped you, so I'll report it.

Around eight thirty in the morning.

Edamame arrived at Hamacho Park.

Then ...

The preparation of the tent has already begun.

DSC_3635-1.jpg

This is for "Chuo-ku Tourism Certification PR"

"Chuo-ku sightseeing certification challenge quiz!" Corner.

I, another correspondent, and the staff of tourist associations, etc.

I was supposed to run the quiz corner.

And...

DSC_3636-1.jpg

What do you think this will be your first time?

It will be held on February 3, next year.

Poster of the 11th Chuo-ku sightseeing certification was completed!

The date of the test that the correspondent did not know yet!

And ... This theme issue (10 questions from here)

I heard "Heisei Chuo-ku" for the first time!

And...

The venue this time is only "Coatyard Marriott Ginza Tobu Hotel" in Ginza.

That's because it's important to be careful.

Please note that there is no "Royal Park Hotel" venue in front of Suitengu, which was until last year! ! That's right.

Applications will be accepted from October 1st, so let's take the test together! !

※Correspondents are also required to renew their qualifications, so they take the exam seriously.

There is absolutely no information leak of the problem, so I will study hard.

Well, once the booth is ready, it's already about 9 o'clock.

There was a customer right away.

5 questions from past examination questions:

The original problem is four choices, but you will try it as a two-choice problem.

It was a pleasant scream of the customer.

(That's why I don't have much photos on my smartphone.)

And there are quite a few people who are familiar with Chuo-ku.

Saying the wrong option, "Is this a coincidence?"

Some of you say that.

The gifts to be given to those who have a large number of correct answers have gone steadily.

Correspondent, I can't tell you! I'll keep studying properly.

By the way ...

By the help of Edamame here

A husband who was imposed on "Daughter Azuki (3 years old)'s right to do one-operated childcare for one day"

I came to take a quiz with Azuki ...

※No problem has been leaked.

Click here for the products that my husband won.

DSC_3653-1.jpg

A lot of postcards! And

What a test textbook! !

(What a big behaviour!)

This was published last fall.

Actually, it was Edamame and Kechinbo, so I didn't buy the last fall version.

Thanks to you, you can check the revised parts (it's a year later).

It was quite a big behaviour, so check the test quiz booth next year and beyond! !

In addition, a stage event of the "Tourism Test Quiz" was also held.

There are also hotel meal tickets and other items here.

I think it was a quiz that was worth trying.

I was on the stage, and I was thrilled.

There were two correspondents explaining the problem ...

I would appreciate it if you could enjoy it.

Of course, the summer festival is not just the "certification booth".

At the Chuo-ku Sports Center in the park

There was an exciting battle for the tug of war Festival.

(In the championship section, powerful players from all over Japan fight.)

There are a lot of delicious food in other tents.

According to her husband's information, "Chanko in Arashio's room and Tanshichu in Courtyard Marriott were particularly popular."

Certainly, chanko in the sumo room is attractive.

It is nodding to flood the Arashio room, the only sumo room in Chuo-ku.

And just by listening to "Hotel Maid Tanshichu" is likely to come out ...

Also, this time it is co-hosted by the Chuo-ku Shopping Street Association.

There was also a store opening in the local Hamacho shopping street.

They are also available at Hamacho marche, which I always visit.

https://www.facebook.com/hamachomarche/

Lunch with yakitori and yakisoba.

Actually, it was next to the "test quiz booth"

I've always had a good smell of yakisoba from next door ... (laughs).

This time, as in marche, it was delicious.

Next time we are looking forward to the Hamacho marche scheduled to be held in October!

And then. Around 15 o'clock...

"Pikachu has come! !」

DSC_3649-1.jpg

That's right. A great march in Pikachu!

I was introduced in the correspondent blog before.

/archive/2018/07/dx.html

This year, the Pokemon Center was established in Nihonbashi Takashimaya.

https://www.pokemon.co.jp/info/2017/11/171130_p01.html

There are a lot of Pikachu in this summer festival!

It was a great march that both adults and children were surprised.

(I'm sorry that the video cannot be uploaded to this blog.

I wanted to show you in the video, it was a powerful force that I couldn't say.

In addition, at the Tokyo Metro booth, it was a commemorative photo wearing uniforms.

It's the experience corner of the official Paralympic event "Boccia"

There is a live music event.

It was a great summer festival.

Will you be at the booth again next year? Is it the customer's side? ?

In any case, I wanted to have a good time next year.

★An extra★

Next week, Friday, August 24 & 25 (Sat)

Also at Hamacho Park

"The 29th Oedo Festival Bon Dance Festival" will be held.

http://www.city.chuo.lg.jp/kurasi/komyunitei/ooedomaturi.html

Bon Odori, but also the opening of antenna shops and shopping streets.

There are plenty of events.

Please come and visit us.

amazake to prevent rice malt summer batter

[Asunaro] August 17, 2018 18:00

"amazake" has the image of New Year's and winter, but it is a seasonal word for summer.

 amazake Yokocho. jpg

Rice koji amazake, also known as "drinking drip", breaks down glucose by koji mold, so it can efficiently absorb energy into the body. And since it contains amino acids and minerals, it is a fine nutritional drink.

The old people had a good understanding of amazake, so in the Edo period, sweet liquor stores sold in town as a drink to prevent summer batter became a specialty.

That's why amazake has become a seasonal word for summer.

 amazake Soft. jpg

Non-alcoholic rice koji amazake flavor refreshed

It's soft ice cream. It's perfect for the hot season.
