Footsteps of Soseki in Chuo-ku

[Yotaro] October 31, 2012 12:00

The London Olympics, which colored this summer. After the closing, the parade of British national players was filled with a great success of 1 million citizens. The Ginza Parade of the Japanese medalist was 500,000, so it's really here. Soseki Natsume (1867-1916) was the first Japanese who studied abroad in London. This time, I visited the relationship between this great writer and Chuo-ku.

Soseki has no connection with Chuo-ku (Nihonbashi-ku + Kyobashi-ku), but there are three monuments in the ward. Both were built by an official at Waseda University near the birthplace of Waseda, and are located in a place related to Soseki's work.

IMG_0573.JPG①"The site of Masago-za, where the performance of Soseki" Cat "" Monument
  (5-1 Nihonbashi Nakasu, 2003)

From January 1905 to August 1939, "I am a Cat" published in grayheaded cuckoo magazine became very popular and was performed in Masago-za from November 3 to 30, 1906 by Yoho Ii. (Soseki doesn't seem to be watching this stage.)

IMG_0578.JPG②"The Stage of Soseki Masterpieces" Monument
(2005 Nihonbashi 1-4 Coredo Nihonbashi Annex Square)

Before the earthquake, there was a vaudeville called Kihara store in a narrow Yokocho around this area, which appeared in "Sanshiro" and "Kokoro". Soseki himself loves rakugo, and he often visited when he was young.

IMG_0582.JPG③Monument of "Echigoya in Soseki"
(Rooftop of Mitsukoshi Main Store, 1-4-1 Nihonbashi Muromachi, 2006)

Echigo-ya kimono shop (Mitsukoshi) appears in "Michikusa" and "Hobby genetics". In addition, "Gobijinso Yukatachi" will be sold and it will be a great reputation.

Born in Edo, Soseki of Tokyo. Nihonbashi and Ginza in the city center should have been very interested, and their works will feature many famous stores and long-established stores that continue to exist, such as Takebatei, Tenshodo, Shiseido, Meijiya, Maruzen, etc. You must have visited him many times.

Looking at Soseki's diary, there is a description of taking a walk in Ginza like one day. In 1910, from June 18 to July 31, just before the so-called "Shuzenji Great Case", he was hospitalized at Choyo Gasin Hospital near Hibiya Park (the brother of Yoshiro Nagayo was the director), but one week before discharge It seems that he walked around Ginza every night. On July 28, he climbed to the roof of Tenshodo, and looked at his legs and felt like he was scooping. (In this hospital diary ... The unusual therapy of warming the abdomen with konjac heated for gastric ulcer treatment continues for two weeks, and the skin becomes fired, but the konjac fee is 15 per week It is said that you paid 25 yen. In addition, Takuboku Ishikawa, who worked for the Asahi Shimbun in Takiyama-cho (Ginza 6-chome), visited twice on July 1 and 5 for corporate purposes. There is a description.)

Okura Shoten and Hattori Shoten, which published Soseki's success work, "I am a Cat", are located in Nihonbashi and Kyobashi wards, respectively, and probably have traveled several times. In addition, the Asahi Shimbun, who joined the company, was also in Takiyama-cho, so the relationship between Soseki and Chuo-ku seems to be unexpectedly deep. There may be a monument in the ward from now on.

I got on the Harumi Liner!

[ukiuki] October 31, 2012 08:30

Harumi Liner, a new foot in Chuo-ku, which started operation in mid-Octoberbus.

Inferred from the Shonan Liner and the Good Morning Liner on the train, there is something "easy fast" image.

----

What's Harumi Triton Square next to Nihonbashi Takashimaya? 。

If you are a Chuo-ku mania, let's understand, this shockflair

The bus approached me while I was shocked.

Hitachi Motor Transportation, we want to see the same as our Edo Bus.

The shinyshine white bus took me to Triton Square in just 15 minutes.

In addition to the comfort, the familiar scenery looked fresh.

This time I got on the train from Tokyo Station Yaesu Exit-Nihonbashi Takashimaya-Triton Square System Harumi 01.

It seems that the system Harumi 02 is Triton Square-Yurakucho-Yaesu Exit.

The number of flights is substantial, I recommend it.

"Katsuo Kakuni Man"

[Mido] October 30, 2012 08:22

It is sold at the long-established "Ninben" main store in the Choredo Muromachi Building.
"Katsuo Kakuniman" is recommended.
The appearance is Chinese bun, but the ingredients inside are "Katsuo Kakuni".
Japanese-style and refreshing food.
It is packed with sweet and spicy soy sauce flavored bonito and onions, and bonito soup stock.
The aroma and taste of this product are exquisitely delicious. The secret ingredient seems to be ginger.
As expected, I think it is a dish that feels the history of the long-established "Ninben".
The price is 200 yen per piece and the price is reasonable. This is my lunch these days
One coin with 2 "Katsuo Kakuni Man" and dashi soup (100 yen) of bonito flakes.
500 yen course.

They also sold frozen items for souvenirs. (800 yen for 4 pieces)
When warming, you can't do it in a microwave oven, but you can't do it.
There is no doubt that steamed in a steamer is more delicious.

"Katsuo Kakuniman" is said to be limited to the season, but it is for shoppers.
I heard that until next year's Golden Week.
It is said that it's a good idea.
Why don't you try it when you drop in nearby?

Sunday, November 4 is the Marugoto Museum of Chuo-ku

[Apricot peony] October 24, 2012 08:30

ck1203_1210241.jpg
This event I'm looking forward to every year.

After all, as the title suggests, cultural events are held in various places in Chuo-ku, and the entire ward becomes a museum!

From the old days of Edo to the present, Chuo-ku, which has always been the center of Japan and has been at the forefront of the times while preserving tradition carefully.

On the day of the event, only the main ones, a city tour such as Ginza, Nihonbashi, Tsukiji, etc., a tour of the head office of the Bank of Japan, and a tour of the gallery in Ginza.
There are plenty of things such as a rickshaw experience at concerts, a navel exhibition that introduces the industries in the city at the Harumi Flower Festival, and a meeting of Yagenbori talks.

In addition, on this day, a free bus and boat operate, and the Edo bus of the community bus will be free to enjoy Chuo-ku plenty.
Oh, Chuo-ku's stomach! I'm going to scream.
It's great for those who want to participate in events in Ginza and Nihonbashi, but want to go to Harumi too.

One of the most recommended is a free boat with three coursesship.

On the Akashicho Waterside Line Tour Route and the Hakozaki / Harumi Route, you can see the Rainbow Bridge and Sky Tree from a perfect place, and it is the best if the weather is nice!
The Nihonbashi tour route is a great opportunity to see the roads and bridges that you usually walk from above the water.
In the Edo period, it was actually used as an important water transport, so it may be a good idea to think about that era.

Most of the events that still have many are free (some are paid), but some require reservations in advance, and buses and ships have time to operate, so the "Marugoto Museum 2012" Please see the homepage, the announcement of the ward dated October 21, and the detailed pamphlets distributed at the facilities of the ward.

If you look at the pamphlet and think about where to go, you will be excited now!happy02

It's held in Tokyo. On October 20, 19th the day before, to offer the service to Ebisu-ko.

The origin of the city began to sell fish, vegetables, household miniature shrine, etc. Daikon radish

It is called "Bettara City" because the pickle was sold well, and it is called "Bettaritsuzo ~" and "Betto"

Sprinkle the radish tied to the rope and put it on the sleeve of worshiper's kimono.

It was fun. Because radish is pickled with candy and koji, it sticks to clothes.

It is said that it came to be called "betara pickles". 15th Shogun Yoshinobu Tokugawa

He seems to have been a favorite. It is a traditional pickle that has been around since the Edo period.

There are many stalls and stalls at the festival portable shrine, and it is crowded with many people. Everyone is smiling.

There is also Edoya near here, and many people are shopping. "Otake University

Treasure Hunting-60th Chuo-ku Tourism and Commerce Festival-

[Apricot peony] October 18, 2012 13:00

ck1203_1210181.jpg
The Chuo-ku Tourism and Commerce Festival has finally begun!

During the period from October 1st (Mon) to November 20th (Tue), there are a lot of events, including live performances, stamp rally and various events, and I can't wait to see this time every year!

Among them, what I am looking forward to is the "treasure hunting game".

ck1203_1210182.jpg
Problem papers are distributed at stores and facilities in Chuo-ku, and based on the hints written there, search for the place where the treasure chest is placed.

There is always a story related to Edo, and this time, a clue to Ieyasu Tokugawa obtained and searched for "Yatoku's jewel" with Jan Jooss Ten as the guardian was found during the renovation work at Yaesu Exit of Tokyo Station, so search for "Hoju" based on that! Therefore, if you do not know the history, famous places and historic sites of Chuo-ku, you will not be able to easily reach the hidden places.

Last year, it was difficult not only to search for treasure chests, but also to unravel the encryption based on the keywords written there, and there were Braffs and fake treasure chests, so I was able to get along with people who were looking for hints and get closer to the geography in the ward, and met people who were looking in the same way at the place where the star was attached, and managed to get along.

This year, the total prize money and prizes will be 5 million yen! It's a big behaviour, so if you think it would be difficult, simply search for 8 keywords and OK!
I can't go around in one day, so I divide it into three times and complete the mission!

ck1203_1210183.jpg
In order to walk all over the place, I also participated in stamp rally, an antenna shop in various places.

Of the 17 stores in total, 12 stores are eligible to apply for stamps, but all 17 stores are cleared at will.
It was just the time of new rice, so it was fun to see the naming of rice in various places.

The antenna shop stamp rally is closed on October 18 (Thursday), but the treasure hunt is open until November 4 (Sunday).
