The 55th Cold Water Bathing Tournament (Tetsugunsu Inari Shrine)

[Yurikamome] January 12, 2010 12:00

On January 10 (Sun), a cold bathing tournament was held at Teppozu Inari Shrine.

Shinto ritual prays for Misogi Hae and sound health by bathing in cold water in front of the shrine in New Year.

In the Edo era, it was called Kanmisogi and Kangori, but after the war it was revived by replacing it with modern language as the "Kannaka Bathing Tournament".

Men wear Echichu loincloths and women wear white kimonos and enter ice water.

This is a traditional festival celebrating its 55th anniversary in 2010.

From 9:30 in Kagura Hall, there was a dedicated performance of Tepposhu Inari Hayashi with flutes, drums and drums.

The icicicles were carried in by truck.

The sky is clear and clear in perfect condition.

After the story of chief priest at 11:00, he conducted preparatory exercises such as Torifune, went out on public roads, ran around the shrine, sang several waka under the guidance of Mr. Michihiko, shouted and voiced to breathe and encourage the purification of spirits.

On this day, 80 people participated, including the general open call for participants, some of whom were about 75 years old.

There were about seven women.

It seems that there were also participants by airplane in Hokkaido, Miyagi, Fukushima, Ishikawa, Shizuoka, Fukuoka, etc.

Bird boat event (Torifu Negiyoji): The main focus is on rowing a boat.

This is a manners that purifies the mind and soul.

Yuken event (Otakebigyoji) ... Focus on the lower abdomen and raise a shout.

Michihiko leads the way in how to move the body and waka as the whole coordinator.

This is a manners that receives the spirit of the earth.

The operation of cutting evil with two fingers.

Air blowing event (Ibukigyoji) ... It is deep breathing.

Kanmisogi

After draining the water with a sword seal, "Ah!", And throw yourself into ice water.

He purifies his mind and body while performing a movement called "Furitama" many times, saying "Haredo Okami, Hareno Okami ...".

The group going up from the aquarium will perform bird boat events and other activities under the guidance of Michihiko. (Michihiko is the person who leads and performs this ceremony.)

It seems that an accident has never occurred during this sacred event.

Also, by participating in this, it is said that you will never catch a cold.

In today's age when people are less aware of the New Year and the beginning of the year, I felt very significant to participate in such a thing.

People who are immersed in ice water are doing their souls.

This year, 80 people were divided into two sets and alternately entered the water three times.

How many times do you have? And how much ice water is in the ice water is determined by Michihiko at that time.

There was a great man holding ice after the event was over.

・・Thank you ...

In interviewing this article, I was very helpful to Mr. Tatsuo Ishikawa of Tepposu Inari Shrine "Yayoi-kai Secretary-General".

Despite my sudden visit, my family welcomed me in the reception room and gave me a kind explanation.

I thank Mr. Ishikawa and other Yayoi-kai, who have protected and maintained traditional culture, and I felt the kindness and depth of Edokko.

Pine decoration. Bamboo decorations at a famous store in Chuo-ku (second installment)

[Silver] January 8, 2010 12:00

The New Year's pine decorations are about to be cleared. Before that, one of the famous stores I covered in the second installment.

Check how to cut pine or bamboo.

The pine decoration of Hotel New Hankyu at St. Luke's Tower. Edo, it's a samurai style, isn't it?

Is it a place that says, "If you enter the town, follow the town"?

The entrance of the same St. Luke's Tower. Even though the cutting method is the same, I wonder if the arrangement on the left and right is different.

The pine decoration of the Shiose Sohonke, the first bun in Japan. The method of cutting bamboo is "small body type".

A large Hagoita about 1m in the back. "New Year's Kotobuki" is transmitted.fuji

Miyakawa of Tsukiji. It's okay to call the main store. The kanji character of this store does not appear in this kanji.

The bamboo here is a "laughter mouth", and the tip is cut off. It's safe and secure.

The restaurant "Tsukiji Tamura" This is a Kansai-style "sunto type" cut.

"Rehabian" is a soba shop in the corner of Tsukiji Honganji. Decorating in Shino.

Shingari offers pigs at a common price opposite Tsukiji Central Market, and lunch is also available.

It's an affordable "Tentake". This is a bamboo decoration on a signboard all year round. Don't you wear pine decorations in New Year's Day?

Then, I hope that this year will be a fun year with an accent like bamboo.

I pray.

Next time, why don't you enjoy walking together while detouring the Tokyo Marathon Course?run
