Shinkawa's sake wholesaler known to the world

[Koedo Itabashi] May 31, 2011 14:30

In building Edo Castle, water transportation, which could transport a large amount of goods, was indispensable.

If you go up the Sumida River (Okawa) from Tokyo Bay and enter the Nihonbashi River, you will find the outer moat where Edo Castle stands in front.

This was an important water route to create river banks around, build castles, and organize town arrangements.

But what if it comes to the defense of the castle?

It is the fort of Shinkawa that stands there.

This area is surrounded by squares of Sumida River, Nihonbashi River and Kamejima River.

If you spread this place, the map, will it look like a tight axe blade?

There are traces of solid defense that glared toward the sea, such as the boat guard and the ruins of the mansion of the boatman (the head of the Shogunate Navy) remain around.

However, in Taihei's world where Edo shogunate is stable, the immediate threat is kept until the end of the Tokugawa period.

It is said that "Edo Shinkawa is known to the world with a sake wholesaler."

Around the banks of the Nihonbashi River and the Shinkawa area, which had been excavated almost parallel to the Nihonbashi River, it seems that it was a lively place where cruises from various countries gathered and white-walled sake warehouses continued.

"Descent sake" was transported from the upper (Kansai) to Edo, a large consumption area, while looking at Fuji on the way.

It seems that a major market for alcoholic beverages was formed from the entrance to Edo Minato.

Walk along the river in search of a place where that remnants remain.

There was. A picture on the balustrade of Shin-Kameshima Bridge.

On the left and right, the scenery of "Okawa's boat" and "Unloading the boat".

This is used from the "Edo Famous Zoukai", which depicts the scenery of Edo in detail with text and pictures.

"Shinkawa Sake wholesaler" may be the basis.

I thought, "What kind of taste was sake from the Edo period?", And when I looked a little at Yokocho, there was a stylish shop that seemed to give delicious sake and a good appetizer.

When the sun went down, I wanted to stop by again.

Kasama Ware Ceramics' Small Path Exhibition Tsukiji Tass Gallery Wakamatsuya

[Silver] May 31, 2011 08:30

"Kasama Ware Pottery Four-Pass Exhibition" is being held from May 30 to Saturday, June 11 at Tsukiji Tass Gallery Wakamatsuya, 6-12-3.

Kasama is known for Kasama Inari Shrine, one of the Nihonbashi Seven Lucky Gods, opposite the Hisamatsu Station in Nihonbashihamacho. It has a connection with Chuo-ku, isn't it? Here, "Kasama Inari Shrine is the Tokyo branch of Kasama Inari Shrine, one of Japan's three largest Inari shrines, Kasama feudal lord, Sadanao Makino, was respected by the servants from the head office and is known as Mon Saburo Inari. You. "The guardian angel of Fukutoku Longevity, who is a god of longevity, guidance and good luck, is aSeven Lucky Gods of Nihonbashi.

Today, I've seen the exhibits of people from Kasama City, which has such a relationship. I got the postcard.

"We aim to recover the affected areas Ibaraki and Kasama Ware, and make part of the sales a charity in eastern Japan through the Red Cross." I would like to introduce some of the works.

English guidance for Hamarikyu Gardens-Semi-day sightseeing hospitality for foreign guests (2)

[Aun (Aun)] May 17, 2011 09:30

hamarikyuucontrast20110514.jpgFor business customers from overseas, I would like to pursue "Chuo-ku where they can enjoy" Japanese-style "in a limited short time" for those who have difficulty securing a sufficient sightseeing schedule.

This time, on the homepage introducing Hamarikyu Garden, "We provide a garden guide in English (free) for foreigners. Saturday / Sunday: 11:00 am ", and on sunny May 14 (Saturday), we asked for a companion without prior permission. I will come to the site where the volunteer guide guides the customers and walks. The duty volunteer guide on this day is Mr. T. Mr. T, who speaks English with beautiful pronunciation fluently, is an active business person who has lived overseas and is an Audit & Supervisory Board Member at a logistics company. I saw him in his 50s, but I was jealous of not only his English conversation skills but also his gentleman-like appearance.

By the way, in the actual performance, Mr. T called out "Good morning" to a group of four foreign men who came shortly after I had obtained Mr. T's permission, and the leader said "No!" I passed. Mr. T explains to me, "That misunderstands me as a key money. Especially in developing countries, tourist destinations tend to guide them as kind, and some people demand chips later. Even if you make a mistake in that kind of thing, you should not be surprised."   I once thought, "Mr. T should lower the placard that he wrote" GUIDE FREE "to his chest," and thought, "But this good free appeal may be rather suspicious."

Mr. T started a one-on-one guide to the next arrival in the early 30s and the wake-up man. He wants to take a water bus bound for Asakusa departing at 11:45, so he will take a walk with a good tempo from "300 Years of Pine" to "Yon Liaokan Ruins" and "Shioiri no Ike" direction. However, the process explanation is omitted. My guest told me that I was visiting Japan for the second time last fall, and I was with my wife. This time, for business purposes, I arrived in Tokyo on Wednesday and flew to Hong Kong tomorrow Monday. Because I belong to a foreign financial company, it is a breathtaking sightseeing while traveling on a business trip.
At the arbor in the garden, while listening to the explanation of the restoration model of Masugata castle pointed to by Mr. T, I thought it would be effective to visualize past scenes like this restoration model and make it easier to contrast with the landscape here. A few years later, when CG videos such as falconry in the Edo period and duck hunting in Meiji period are skipped via wireless LAN, and guests stand at Kamoba while watching videos on the screens of smartphones and smart pads that they carry around. The guest was taking pictures in the wind that felt the high-rise building over the garden. The contrast between traditional Japanese-style scenery and modern times seemed interesting. It may not be seen in Kanazawa / Kenrokuen, Okayama / Korakuen or the gardens of the Adachi Museum of Art in Shimane Prefecture, and may be sold at Hamarikyu Gardens.

Press the "ENGLISH" button on the upper right at the beginning of the screen operation on the ticket vending machine bound for Asakusa at the water bus stop, and you can buy the ticket according to the English display thereafter. It would be natural for those who know, but I was impressed.

Tsukiji Standing Gourmet 2 Views-Ichikushi Tamagoyaki and Delicious Tunayaki-

[Dandy Pine] May 14, 2011 17:47

DSC02608.JPGDSC02606.JPGOn the opening day of Tsukiji, "Yamacho-san", which has a small shop in a corner of the rest area facing "Nami-dori", which is always crowded with many people, is popular with kushishi egg-yaki ("Kushitama").
It is a stand-up gourmet that we recommend during the walk around Tsukiji Outer Market. It's just the right size to eat while walking, and you can choose something warm and cold, as well as sweet and less sweet.

DSC02607.JPG
The price is 100 yen per skew. Outside Tsukiji, a fierce battlefield for egg-yaki, the only egg-yaki that is sold with reasonable skewers is here "Yamacho-san". By all means, please.

I would like to introduce some of my favorite food.
Did you know that Tsukiji is not called a sea bream-yaki shop, but called a tuna-yaki shop?
Fresh fish sea bream and tuna are also traded in the market, but there is only one tuna grill shop in the out-of-office market without bream grilling.

DSC02609.JPG DSC02610.JPGThe tuna-yaki "Sanokiya" has a small shop on the left immediately after entering the first alley from Harumi-dori St. side. There is a cute signboard at the frontage of the store, about one frontage, so you can find it immediately.
"Sanokiya"'s tuna grille accurately expresses the bulge of the fuselage, which is a characteristic of tuna, and the swelling stomach is filled with plenty of ingredients "Anko". The raw material of the "Anko" is Tokachi red beans, and the red beans use the finest variety called "Toyoho".

DSC02611.JPG DSC02612.JPGThere are two types of tuna grilling, "hon tuna" and "medium toro". It is said that the stomach of this tuna contains Kokura Ann, and the Nakatoro contains Kokura Ann and "Anzu". The finished tuna grill has wings like a dumpling, and the surface crisp and inside can enjoy the texture of the fluffy. By the way, "hon tuna" is 150 yen. "Nakatoro" costs a little more than 180 yen.

Outside Tsukiji, you can sample at various shops, but we recommend "Ichikushi Tamagoyaki" and "Tunayaki" for tasting.

Children's cheers resonate at the Children's Center Festival

[Shitamachi Tom] May 11, 2011 09:00

Every year in Chuo-ku, the Children's Center Festival is held in each district.

As it is introduced in the May 1 issue of the public relations paper "News of Ward" of Chuo-ku, please take a look.

News of ward May 1 issue third page of wardChildren's House Festival Poster. JPG

In the first "Kyobashi area", it was held at [Akatsuki Park] on May 8 (Sun).

The day was blessed with hot weather, and more than 600 children came and were excited.

Parents and neighbors who accompanied me smiled at this situation and participated together.

Children's House Festival "Sumou".JPG

At the venue, corners such as the "Nawatobi Championship", "Fun Tamare", and "Nokotakotakota" (Sumo) were set up, and children with participation cards were enjoying themselves while turning around. It is a smile that many generations, from elementary school students to infants, play well in the same place.

Children's House Festival "Crown Show".JPG

At the Crown Comedy Show, a whirlpool of laughter was spreading around a pleasant performance.

After that, on May 15 (Sun), at the Tsukishima area [Tsukishima Daiichi Children's Park], and on May 22 (Sun), at the Nihonbashi area [Hamacho Park], respectively, The Children's Center Festival will be held.

Please take a look at it as a place for local people to interact.

I would be glad if you could talk to the "small inhabitants" who will support the future Chuo-ku.
