The bookstore seems to be an intellectual profession when you think about it, but in your private experience, only the bookstore is not particularly intelligent in the business selling goods. However, from the limited experience I have met so far, secondhand bookstores have quite a lot of hobbyists and many interesting people. Bookstores dealing only with new books are, of course, focused on business rather than hobbies.
Heading from Ginza to Nihonbashi, there is a small bookstore called LIXIL Book Gallery at the base of Kyobashi. I'm dealing with a new book, so I'm a regular businessman in my sorting. However, there is something about this bookstore, and it is intellectual and hobby like a secondhand bookstore. If you look at it, there is a unique atmosphere that deals only with books in certain categories such as architecture, gardening, art, and folklore.
I asked the shop what I had been worried about before. "Who thinks about this assortment?" It was said that the two women who responded decided and sold. When asked, "Do you have qualifications such as librarians or curators?", Asked the question, "I don't have anything special. I'm studying art. I've been doing this store for about 10 years, so there are some seniors. " In short, they have an assortment of products with their sensibilities.

It seems that this bookstore was originally started by the cultural promotion department of a pottery company called Inax. Currently, in addition to Inax, it is managed by the LIXIL Group's cultural planning group, which was integrated last year by construction-related companies such as Tostem, Shin Nikkei, SunWave, and Toyo Exterior. Although this bookstore's assortment is basically in line with company operations, it is a cultural activity that transcends the boundaries and I think it is a successful example of Mecena.

In addition, there is an LIXIL gallery on the second floor of this bookstore, where various exhibitions are held at all times. When I visited, there were white porcelain "Yukari Otani Exhibition", cloth art "Sakai Wakkae Exhibition" and "Textile Exhibition to Color Architecture". As an aside, the "Textile Exhibition to Color Architecture" is a subtitle of the beauty and technique of Kawashima textiles in Kyoto, but I was very surprised and impressed by the history of Kawashima textiles since the early Meiji era.

Ginza Street is a bit different from bookstores. It is a shop that I would like to take a stop in the middle of a walk.

Where did you come at 2:40 p.m. on March 11, 2011? I was born near the wall of the Kidai Shoran, an underground concourse in front of Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi.Great East Japan Earthquake's Memory and Reconstruction exhibition is being held in the same place. (Until the 30th. Free of charge.
About 20,000 people died in missing person, about 360,000 houses partially destroyed ... more than 600 days have passed since great disaster, but traces of earthquakes and tsunamis remain in various places and many people are forced to evacuate. The organizer says that the exhibition was held to convey the response to the Great East Japan Earthquake and the situation of reconstruction, and that the days of fighting against major earthquake will not be weathered.
The exhibits include those affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake (road signs, clocks, etc.), photo panels before and after the tsunami, and panels introducing reconstruction activities, but photos of Ishinomaki Kitakami River estuary and Takada Matsubara have a feeling of millet on the skin no matter how many times you look.
Another interesting thing is the introduction of disaster traditions in Tohoku. It is a legend that passed on safe evacuation site to future generations based on the experience of the past tsunami, such as Funakoshi Yamanouchi in Iwate and Yamadamachi, and the story of Matsuyama and Kosaji in Miyagi and Tagajo.
At the end of Matsuyama Nami Kosoji (Motosuke Kiyoharano) while squeezing the sleeves into a contract.
It's a familiar song with Hyakunin Isshu. The wave crosses Matsuyama at the end ... It is an analogy of what can not happen, but the tsunami rushed to the surrounding area in Great East Japan Earthquake, but only Matsuyama at the end remained without flooding.
※Nihonbashi "Memory and Reconstruction of Great East Japan Earthquake" Exhibition

●Organized by Great East Japan Earthquake's Memory and Reconstruction Exhibition Executive Committee
●“Nihonbashi” Preservation Society and others
●Planning Non-Profit Organization National Highway Exchange Meeting
●Supported by Chuo-ku, etc.
On March 11th, on Chuo-dori, on the ground, preparations for the 100th anniversary of the Nihonbashi Bridge, "Edo Furumachi Festival", which will be held the next day, were reaching its final stage. I also bought an advance ticket for one of the events, "ladder liquor tournament", and was looking forward to the day, but the festival was canceled. I would like you to revive the ladder liquor tournament with Tohoku sake and appetizers someday.

I ate eel bowl at Ginza Takebatei, which I wanted to visit once before.
I would like to go to the main store in Kibiki-cho, but first from the Ginza store (* ^^*)
It is located along Harumi-dori St., the intersection of 4-chome.
There are A and B for eel bowls, A costs 2310 yen, and B costs 2850 yen.
I should have asked what the difference was (^^;
I'm not sure, but I tried B for the time being.
Eels in front of Edo are open back. The steaming method is also different.
I'm a Kansai person, so I'm familiar with the eel of Osaka.
This is delicious (*^^*)
It's strange because I feel like eating eels will give you energy (laughs).

The weekend is crowded even though it is not the day of the Ox at the end of August (^^;
It's a few tens of minutes to wait outside the shop in the rain. It's a popular shop!

Last Saturday, 17th, an international exchange gathering was held at the Tsukiji Social Education Center (commonly known as Tsukiji Shakyo). The organizer is the Chuo-ku Cultural and International Exchange Promotion Association, but I was originally doing this volunteer staff, and on that day I also helped as a staff member. Until now, I've been working all the time during the holding time, so I've never experienced the events around me, but it's really fun to participate! From the 1st floor to the 4th floor of Tsukiji Shakyo, all reserved for this gathering! From ikebana, tea ceremony and dressing to wadaiko experience. There are few Japanese people who have experience. It's wonderful that you can experience it all at once in a day! The first floor is a wadaiko experience. The teacher will monetize everyone according to the sound of the depression drum in the example. When I asked the people who hit the drums together, I was excited, "Awesome !!"

The second floor is a dance corner, Japanese play and foreign play, salley dressing experience, etc. From 12:00, there was a Sri Lankan dance. It seems that the dance in the photo is a dance offered to God.
From 13:00, Bon Odori. This is a participatory type, I danced for the first time in 20 years, but recent Bon Odori dances are "Dancing Hero"!
On the third floor, there are many corners where you can experience mainly Japanese culture, such as ikebana, tea ceremony, and furoshiki. I also experienced furoshiki wrapping, but it was not very difficult to wrap it, it was beautiful in terms of art, and I was able to feel the goodness of furoshiki again.
In the tea ceremony, we also had Japanese sweets in earnest and delicious tea.
On the 4th floor, disaster prevention, crime prevention corner, Sri Lanka corner, cooking corner where you can eat Sri Lanka curry and kenchin soup, and international exchange corner.

At the disaster prevention corner, you can sample emergency food and see disaster prevention goods. The theme was international exchange, and we also offered disaster prevention information for foreigners. This kind of approach is important.
It was a very satisfying event with all kinds of experiences in a day. The Chuo-ku Cultural and International Promotion Association holds an international exchange salon once a month for the purpose of interacting with foreigners living and working in Chuo-ku. In December, we will have international exchange while playing the New Year in Japan. It looks fun- For details, please see the International Exchange Salon page of the Promotion Association.

Ginza Kansei is located in the West Fifth Avenue Building in the West Fifth Avenue of Ginza's West Fifth Avenue
This is the shop of Chef Miki Yasushi Sakata.
It is a homey shop that is French but does not have a high threshold.
He is very friendly to come to the kitchen and listen to wine himself.
A French lunch in Ginza with a credit card campaign
I made a reservation for a plan that I could eat for 3,000 yen, but the content was a lunch of 6,000 yen!
There is a welcome drink, and the first appetizer.
This appetizer was very vivid with a variety of vegetables.
For some reason, I forgot to take a picture ... Shock (>_<)
The next thing that came out was the cold soup of beats! Beet soup is unusual!

Homemade bread. The round was delicious just before this!
House wine is the white of Bourgogne! This is also perfect for cooking.

The main dish is flounder with fish and meat with Japanese beef.
This flounder has excellent sauce with white wine and the best mariage!
The five grain rice next to the meat is unique to a Japanese chef.

For dessert, babaroa of matcha and salt caramel ice cream!

I also like authentic rich French, but I also like it.
French cuisine made with domestic vegetables by Japanese chefs
It tastes delicious and gentle~ (*^^*)
