Izuko, a remnant of Rei Iwao Island

[Shitamachi Tom] June 7, 2017 16:00

Echizenbori Park_201704(2)_R.jpg

The renewal of Echizenbori Children's Park in Shinkawa has recently been completed and has been neatly maintained. It is popular not only as a playground for children, but also as a place for local residents to relax. It is also loved as an oasis for people working in nearby offices to take a break during lunch breaks. The local event, the Children's Center Festival, was also held here just before.

Reiganjima Ancient Map 2053_R.jpgThis area was dug in the Edo period, and it was called "Echizenbori" because there was a Nakayashiki of the Fukui clan, Matsudaira Echizen Mamoru. It is interesting that the name still remains in the name of the park.

In addition, the name "Shinkawa" was established by Edo shogunate in the early Edo period, which was called "Edo Nakajima" and then divided into two areas. The north side was called "Hakozaki Island" and the south side was called "Rei Iwao Island". The newly excavated canal is called "Shinkawa" and is connected to the current town name.

Echizenbori Park_201704(5)_R.jpgIn a corner of Echizenbori Children's Park, there is a stone monument indicating the connection of "Rei Iwao Island". It is explained that it is related to Rei Iwao-ji Temple, which was once in this area. The temple itself later moved to Fukagawa, but the name remained in the place name.
Rei Iwao Island appears in the "Kaibori no Okei" held in Shotaro Ikenami's popular work "Onihei Crime Book" Vol. 7. If you follow that description ...
"Shinkawa is a river that splits the original Rei Iwao Island into two north and south, and sake wholesalers were lined up on both banks. There are three bridges in Shinkawa from west to east, from Ichinobashi to Sannobashi. "
There are few remnants at that time now, but you can feel the scent of the past in the atmosphere of the nearby Kamejima River.

Wouldn't it be a good idea to take a walk while enjoying the scent of history? Please drop in.

Tokyo Minato matsuri

[saru] June 7, 2017 14:00

Hello, my name is Saru.

May 28 I went to Tokyo Minato matsuri, which was held at Harumi's passenger ship terminal.

Take the Edo bus and get off at Harumi 3-chome and walk while watching the construction site of the Olympic Athlete Village in 12 or 3 minutes to the venue.

At 10:30, we arrived at 9:40 as early as possible to watch the “Firefighting Pageant of Water” by the Tokyo Fire Department, which started at 10:30, but quite a few customers have already received it....。 But I was able to keep this position.

The curtain of the pageant has risen from the parade of the little children of the boy fire brigade in Kyobashi, Nihonbashi, and harbor in Chuo-ku.

And the protagonist of this event is the appearance of eight fire boats and three helicopters.

The simultaneous water discharge of the fire boat was very beautiful and powerful like a fountain blowing up from the sea.

In the exhibition training, there was a rescue from the helicopter, and the explosive sound that went up close was impressive.

It seems that Japan's water firefighting began with the donation of a fire boat to the Kyobashi Fire Station Tsukiji Branch Office in 1936, and Chuo-ku is closely related to the water firefighting. By the way, the nickname of the fire boat at this time, "Miyakodori", has been handed down to the name of the largest fire boat to which I belong now.

On the stage of the venue, the Fire and Disaster Management Agency Music Band performed, stalls lined up, and it was an event that both adults and children could enjoy by opening escort ships and dredging boats.

I went to Tsukiji!

[Hikoharu Co., Ltd.] June 7, 2017 09:00

I went to Tsukiji. Tsukiji is the one that cannot be removed is Namiwa Inari Shrine.

"Tsukiji Lion Festival" is still a little early, but I went through Chinowa.

In the precincts, the fresh green of weeping ginkgo is very vivid.

The water bowls and lion heads of Namishi Inari Shrine are privately owned folk cultural properties.

`` The religion of the Shinto and Buddha among the people is very popular, and on the anniversary of the Yuran Bonkai, Higan, Nibutsu, Nirvanakai, and Soso, you can see the crowds of visiting temples everywhere, and the opening of the Shinto Buddha and the opening of the niche. did. -Omitted-The wind of organizing a religious group called a lecture, worshiping shrines and temples, offering prayer theology, or dedicating torii, lanterns, banner stones, water tanks, etc. in front of the shrine is also very popular, and this is also a merchant. It also became a publicity. From "History of Chuo-ku"

Tensui bowl of Namishi Inari Shrine is also described in "Chuo-ku History" as an example.

The predecessors of Edo may have faith, appearance and spirit of Shinto and Buddha, which we do not have today.

Then, the stone monument of "Hagiyama", the birthplace of the Japanese Navy on the site of Yuonen, and the back of the stone monument is the fish riverbank water shrine.

Of course, I checked the main pillars of Umiyuki Bridge, but I forgot to take a picture.

I still had a little time for lunch, but since I came to Tsukiji, I wanted to eat seafood and went to the Tsukiji Fish Bank Odawarabashi Building in the Tsukiji Outer Market.

There is a retail store on the first floor, where you can get the ingredients you purchased at the food court table on the third floor.

By the way, tuna red meat ¥800 fan shrimp sashimi ¥700 octopus fish ¥300, which was a very reasonable price. Draft beer is 500 for medium jokki. It's a perfect place for those who drink during the day. If you come to Tsukiji, please try using it. But be careful not to drink too much!

Phantom mackerel sand

[The Crown and the Rabbit] June 6, 2017 12:00

Did you know that mackerel sandwiches are becoming a secret boom in fashionably boulangeries, bakeries, cafes, cookpads, etc.

What? What? If you think about it, please try an online search with "Saba Sand".

To put it quickly, baked mackerel is sandwiched in bread, it is a B-class gourmet of Istanbul, Turkey, and in this area, fish bread = "Balque Execk".

In the same way, I think that it is very easy to accept for our Japanese people, who love mackerel.
"The image of the absolute standard" Saba salt grilled set meal "is too strong, and at first it was difficult to accept it...."It's no exaggeration to say that it's the spark of this mackerel sandwich boom, Mr. Kadoi of Tsukiji Naka Wholesale "Kyotomi".

It was about 10 years ago that the phantom mackerel sand was born!
In the Tsukiji area, there are many small events closely related to the local area, so Mr. Kadoi, who also trained in Japanese cuisine, took advantage of Turkish mackerel sandwiches to the uniqueness of Japan, Tsukiji, and wholesalers It was created over the will of.

That commitment is reflected everywhere.
Saba is baked carefully with charcoal fire, one or one with affection. If you burn the skin, you will soon become poroporo, so he says, "I will not let anyone other than yourself, your son and your child."
Bread is a trade secret. He ordered directly to the bread department of a high-end grocery store, so he said, "I can only get the number of bakers receive."
Other ingredients are quickly heat-treated tomatoes and sliced onions. Lemon in the shape of a comb to squeeze.
The taste that has been studied and evolved in 10 years is definitely Japan's best!

Well, why is it a phantom?

"Kyotomi"'s retail store is located in the Tsukiji Fish Bank Kaisaibashi Building.

Saba Sand is only an event-friendly product, so you can't buy it at the store.

Well, then, you can eat it!
I think you can hear your cry. ( ̄▽ ̄)

I was told about the schedule of the event in the future.

August Tsukiji Honganji Bon Odori
September Kachidokibashi Riverside Autumn Festa
October Tsukiji Autumn Festival, Akatsuki Park Health and Welfare Festival

Note) It is not confirmed because it depends on the situation of purchase and manpower.

In addition, since the quantity is limited and it is now very popular, it is a long queue at the time of the event.

Unfortunately, there is a possibility that GET may not be possible, so please be aware in advance.

Well, please take care of it and embody the phantom mackerel sand.

Lunch for gutsuri products CAVATAPPI Tsukiji Italian

1. June 6, 2017 09:00

100_2412.JPG 100_2413.JPG

It is a 2-minute walk from Tsukiji Station and a 6-minute walk from Higashiginza. CAVATAPPI (Cavatappi) is a restaurant that has a reputation for "Taste of Sicily's Mama". There was a line at noon, so I've been worried for a long time. In addition to a limited menu of only 10 meals, there are 4 types of pasta lunch (salad, pasta, drink set). There are 5 counter seats and 7 table seats, but the arrangement is quite spacious. While wondering what to do, add to the "Asari Toshimeji zucchini tomato sauce" (including 1050 yen tax) set. I had plenty of salad, and finally the pasta came. A great amount! Even though I am impressed that I eat well, I can't afford it.

100_2410.JPG 100_2411.JPG

When you visit the shop, the amount of pasta is 120g. Normally, it is 70-80g that is served as a person, so even those who eat it quite a bit will be satisfied. Recently, the number of places where there is no drink for lunch is increasing, but I'm glad that this is included in the set. Next to the counter, I ordered a glass wine after beer. The wine that arrived was overflowing from Nami and glass.

I couldn't help but say, "It's amazing." He answered, "I'm always coming." Well, if you become a regular, you will have more joy. I received a member card as recommended at the cash register. In addition to fresh seafood purchased at Tsukiji Market, meat dishes using short-horned beef and Iberico pork are also popular course menus ranging from all-you-can-drink 4,800 yen, so it seems to be good for gatherings such as women's associations. Cavatappi is a wine opener in Italian. I remembered that I had a pasta called Cavatappi in the shape of a stopper.
