At the gallery "Gallery Yaesu Tokyo", located in Yaesu Underground Shopping Center, Yaesu 2-chome 1, Yaesu Underground Shopping Center No. 1, Yaesu Underground Shopping Center, a wooden Aya painting exhibition by artist Kazumi Miyakawa is being held.
The period is from Monday, October 15 to 21 (Sun).
"Ki-Aya painting" is a painting created by Mr. Miyagawa's own name, using the technique of "inlaying" made by cutting a thin wooden board (approximately 0.6 mm thick) and inlaying it.
I remember seeing "Ki-Aya Painting" for the first time at Miyagawa's exhibition held at this gallery Yaesu in 2015, and I was impressed by its preciseness and beauty.
At that time, the tree itself was not colored at all, and I heard from the person that it was completed as a single work by utilizing the natural color, grain, and wood surface of each tree. I was surprised.
This time again, works that make use of the characteristics and beauty of the material itself are on display.
(Shinagawa Month)
In addition to the certainty of technology, the unique calm atmosphere of the material being natural is overflowing throughout the gallery where the work is exhibited.
(Snow in Fukagawa)
At this exhibition, Utamaro trilogy "Snow, Moon, Flowers (Snow of Fukagawa, Tsuki of Shinagawa, Flowers of Yoshiwara)" is also on display.
After this exhibition, this trilogy will be stored and displayed at the Shimizu Minenzaka Art Museum in Sannenzaka in Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto City, and this is the last one that you can appreciate this trilogy in Tokyo.
(Flower of Yoshiwara)
The event will be held until this weekend, so please drop in early.

In addition, we received special consent for the photography in the gallery, and we were able to talk to Mr. Miyagawa who was at the venue.
Thank you very much
