In the same year, the announcement of new hair by the National Federation of Barbers was started, and he became the chief committee member of the setting. The foundation for new hair presentation to this day has been created.

October cherry blossoms

[Sam] December 1, 2018 14:00

R0036211ELS.jpgDSC_0660SQ'RSG.jpg "October cherry blossoms" are planted in the front yard of St. Luke's International University.

It is said to be the subspecies of Kohigan, a hybrid of Edhigan and Mamezakura, and blooms intermittently small double flowers from October to early spring.

The flower color is white to pale pink, with 3 to 5 flowers blooming sparsely.

Although it is not gorgeous, it is lit up in orange and clearly emerges in the night sky, with the spire of the St. Luke Chapel in the background, creating a dignified atmosphere unique to this period.

St. Luke's Chapel is a place for revelation of the mental pillars of medical and education at St. Luke's International University / Hospital as a place to find the ability to respond to various problems, including illness, while calming and praying.

There is a refreshing and harsh air.

50-year-old concept from buildings - Former Dentsu Headquarters Building

[often slap] December 1, 2018 12:00

From Chuo-ku government office (1-1 Tsukiji), walk along the Metropolitan Expressway toward Shiodome.... At the base of the celebration bridge, you can see a building with a somewhat strange presence.

sbt_1811_1.JPG

There are many ways to call this building, but it is "Old Dentsu Headquarters Building" (1-11 Tsukiji).
As the name implies, the building was headquartered until the advertising agency Dentsu moved to Shiodome in 2002.
The building was completed in 1967 by Kenzo Tange, a leading architect in Japan, and was designed by Kenzo Tange.

This building, in fact, was part of a very grand concept.
Kenzo Tange created a master plan called the Tsukiji Redevelopment Plan in 1964, three years before the completion of this building.

<Reference> Image of Tsukiji Redevelopment Plan

https://www.tangeweb.com/works/works_no-32/
(I fly to the homepage of Tange City Architecture Design)

The Tsukiji Redevelopment Plan is a grand concept that connects large-scale buildings to create a city like a single system.
Each building has a structure that allows the building to freely extend in height and lateral directions according to demand.
(By the way, Mr. Tange is also famous for proposing the concept of "Tokyo Plan 1960" that allows the city to extend to the sea on a larger scale.)

The former Dentsu headquarters building was originally planned to be part of this magnificent system.
The design has been changed due to construction costs, etc., and the original plan is slightly different from the actual construction.
Looking at the side of the building, you can see that it expresses the nature of "extending more and more" as seen in the Tsukiji Redevelopment Plan.
(Please see the photo below!)

sbt_1811_2a.jpg

sbt_1811_2b.jpg

① Inorganic walls with few windows that indicate that they are "cross-sections" on the way instead of the "surface" of the building.

The beams are popping out a little, and it's going to extend it.
③ The window frame is cut off at half of a unit!

If you look like this, the building looks like it's really growing and it's interesting.

sbt_1811_3.JPG

Although it is such an old Dentsu headquarters building, it is also characterized by the use of materials such as concrete and metal, and the finish of industrial products pursuing functionality. Then, the space without walls and pillars on the first floor can be seen by the influence of the French master Le Corbusier's idea of "liberating architecture from the ground." These are characteristics found in Modernism architecture.

This building is also one of the first cases in which a system called "specific block" was applied.
...Until then, the height of buildings was limited to 31 meters (approximately 100 feet) in large cities in Japan, except for a few exceptions, but the height restrictions were abolished due to the progress of building technology and high economic growth. In 1961, a system called "special block" was established in which heights can be set only within the block, and Japan's first skyscraper building, "Kasumigaseki Building" was linked to the building. The former Dentsu headquarters building is one of the first projects that were designated as a specific block on the same day as the Kasumigaseki Building.
It is about 60m high and is not a rare height in Tokyo now, but at the time of its completion, it would have symbolized Japan's rapid economic growth and the rise of urban areas in Tokyo.

The former Dentsu headquarters building, which conveys the architectural tide and social situation at that time, is now an empty building and we have heard rumors that rebuilding is planned soon.

If you go to think about the air feeling 50 years ago, it is now

[Chuo-ku Tourism Certification Measures] Rivers and bridges (1)

[Hanes] 09:00 on December 1, 2018

Hello. This is a new correspondent, Hanes.
It's been more than 4 months, but in mid-July, I started appearing on Chuo FM for the first time.
"Instagram is inevitable! In addition to the back story of ROAR COFFEE, which groans both power and concentric.
I talked about the charm of Chuo-ku and how to study the Chuo-ku sightseeing certification for about 15 minutes.
I was just biting it because it was my first appearance.
Thank you to everyone who listened!

DSC_2429.JPG

The application for the Chuo-ku Tourism Certification started on October 1st.
This time, JUMI, a central FM personality, also introduced me.
I would like to write a little about Hanes-ryu Chuo-ku sightseeing certification measures.

Before that, it was the most important Chuo-ku sightseeing test, but mainly about history and culture since the Edo period.
You will be asked about 100 questions with different difficulty levels.
Among them, the following two things I felt particularly good at.
River and bridge problems (where rivers and capital heights intersect, where and how many bridges are built, etc.)
Route problem (which station and which line goes through? If there are multiple routes, the year of opening can be used as a hint for the answer....)

It was less than a year since I started living in Chuo-ku when I applied for the certification.
The scope of action was very limited, and for some time I was commuting on foot.
I didn't have any knowledge of rivers, bridges and routes.
Some of the examinees who are not from Tokyo like me are.
I think there are some people who have similar weaknesses!
This time, we will focus on rivers and bridges, and introduce Hanes-style verification measures to be used as a reference for testing measures.

First of all, I would like to remember the following five things about rivers and bridges.
①Bridge location
②The order of bridges (by river)
③The confluence of the river and the bridge before and after
④It is said to be a feature of the bridge.

⑤Reclamation of rivers

In this article, we will introduce the points of one bridge location (which bridge is (place name) and where (place name) and where (place name)).

■Bridge where the place name is a hint

Ryogokubashi (2-chome Higashi Nihonbashi, Chuo-ku and 1-chome Ryogoku, Sumida-ku)
This name was given because it connected Musashi and Shimousa across the Sumida River.
Kiyosu Bridge
At the time of construction, it was named after the connection between Nakasucho, Nihonbashi-ku and Kiyozumi-cho, Fukagawa-ku (currently Nihonbashinakasu and 1-chome, Kiyosumi, Koto-ku), which were on both banks.

■Bridge over the island
I think there are individual differences, but the bridge in the southeast area of Chuo-ku tends to be a pitfall (especially for test takers who are not from Tokyo).
・Bridges span from the Minato, Akashicho, and Tsukiji areas to the Tsukuda, Tsukishima, Kachidoki, and Toyomicho areas
・Bridges spanning the Harumi area from Tsukuda, Tsukishima, Kachidoki, and Toyomicho areas

Like Asashio Ohashi, Asashiobashi, Asashio Kobashi, Reimeibashi, Reimeibashi and Reimei Ohashi
Even if the name is similar, the location and size of connecting are different.

IMG_2430.JPG

Therefore, we recommend that you keep such information referring to the official text p.196 of the certification released this year!
In particular, the following three items that pass through Ring Route 2, which opened in early November, must be checked.
Tsukiji Ohashi (Sumida River / between Tsukiji and Kachidoki)
Reimei Ohashi (Asashio Canal / between Kachidoki and Harumi)
Toyosu Ohashi (Harumi Canal / between Harumi and Toyosu)
However, Chuo-ku, which has many rivers and bridges!
Don't forget to check the bridge locations in other areas.

I've briefly introduced the points of the bridge so far, but since the study method is for each person, the method that suits you best is the best!
You can put a map on the bathroom and remember it with your eyes, copy the map and remember it by hand.
You can actually walk around the town and learn it with your body.
You can remember your own way of remembering repeatedly with your mouth and ears!
If there are people who can go to the Hanes style, which will be introduced more than once in the future, please refer to it.

※In this article, we will introduce some of the reasons for this.
If you learn the contents written here, you will not be able to pass it.
 Please include it in advance.
