Discover Chuo City: Ginza Sushi Sachi Honten, a long-established store that combines tradition and innovation.

[Hanes] Nov. 18, 2018 09:00

Hello. This is a new correspondent, Hanes.
Ashamed, I myself have a sparse place in gourmet food.
Many famous shops in Chuo-ku may happen to know at events outside the city or travel destinations.

The other day, at the event "Long Table" Kizuna "", a special event for the 10th anniversary of the Marunouchi Chefs Club held at Marunouchi Nakadori in Chiyoda-ku, next door.
I learned about Ginza Sushi Sachi Honten, a long-established sushi restaurant in Ginza that has been around since the Meiji era.
At this event, you can have a collaboration menu of ingredients from Yamanashi Prefecture with Mamoru Sugiyama, the fourth generation master, and Mamoru Sugiyama.
One of the menus is "Yamanoyuki Umi no Yuki Autumn Megumi Onion Ramen".
This is a special menu that is not served at the shop, and it was popular as "Ramen made by sushi restaurants".

One coin (500 yen) is a dish prepared by a long-established sushi restaurant.
Or I felt very much that it was free (when I attended an event and got a ticket)

As a seafood, ramen has a thick fish cut.
It has been conveyed that it is a special ramen that is one rank higher.
You can also use high-quality Japanese pepper (Yamatsu Tsujida) as you like.
I was able to fully enjoy the taste of each ingredient.
I haven't actually visited the store yet, but expectations are growing!

And above all, I have won one star in the Michelin Guide Tokyo.
It is a shop that adds a new essence to the tradition of serving sushi with wine, so why not try using this shop on a special occasion?

From the window of the "Chuo-ku Marugoto Museum" tour bus

[Hanes] Nov. 16, 2018 18:00

Hello. This is a new correspondent, Hanes.
As the senior correspondents wrote,
I also served as a volunteer bus guide on the tour bus at the Marugoto Museum in Chuo-ku on November 4th.
It was tended to be at first because it was the first challenge this time, but after running the same road several times,
I was able to grasp the timing and the ad-lib became effective.
There's nothing to do.

IMG_20181111_092251.jpg

This time, we picked up three information on Chuo-ku, which had a good response to passengers on the tour bus, and picked up them.
We will introduce it together with the event in November.

■The population of Yaesu 2-chome is the smallest 24 people in the ward (* Information before updating on November 2)
According to the "Population and Number of Households in Chuo-ku (as of November 1, 2018)" published by the Chuo-ku Office, the current population is 31.
The number of households is 28, and the breakdown is 17 men and 14 women.

In Yaesu, urban redevelopment projects are currently underway, and many construction sites are noticeable.
When a new office building with the Bulgarian Hotel and Joto Elementary School has been completed, it will be completed.
Will there be some fluctuations in the population around here?
In that sense, it is an interesting block that I would like to pay attention to in the future.

■Nihonbashi Seven Lucky Gods
It is said that the religion of Seven Lucky Gods began in the Muromachi period.
The eight shrines related to Seven Lucky Gods in the Nihonbashi area enshrines Ebisu God, a thriving business.
Even today, tours around Seven Lucky Gods are still popular.

IMG_9365.JPG
(Sugimori Shrine, which enshrines Ebisu God)

One of the eight companies is Koami Shrine (Fukurokuju, Benzaiten), whose main religion is Ise-jingu Shrine.
The Doburoku Festival from Niiname-no-Matsuri will be held on November 28 (Wednesday), thanks for the good harvest of new grains.
From 9:00 am, a talisman made of Susukino, a representative of the seven herbs in autumn, will be awarded.
The benefits of good luck and prosperity of business are "mi" (body).
It seems that it is mizuku after "sticking" to the family's "mi" (body)

In the afternoon, the village kagura dance, an important national Intangible Folk Cultural Property, will be dedicated.
If you have time, why don't you go see it?

■The roots of the Sumida River Fireworks Festival
fireworks festival has become an entertainment now, but in fact it wasn't the beginning!
Many people died due to bad harvests and epidemics of 1732, and many people died.
The 8th Shogun Yoshimune Tokugawa, who was worried about this, held a water god festival on the Sumida River the following year as a prayer for the eradication of illness and the memorial service for the dead.
At that time, the boat inn and restaurant at the base of Ryogoku Bridge paid for it and obtained the permission of the Shogunate.
It is said that they have launched fireworks to memorialize the spirits of the dead.
In overseas tourism media, such roots are sometimes introduced.
When people from overseas ask about this fireworks festival, it would be nice if they could introduce Japanese culture, including their roots.

For the secret spots where you can enjoy fireworks from Chuo-ku, please visit us.
[Sumida River Fireworks Festival] How can I see it from a secret place in Chuo-ku? Please take a look at it.

That's all for the three selections of Chuo-ku information that had a good response.
For lunch on this day, I had entered the Yatai Village Championship at the Harumi Autumn Festival.
I had chicken kebab from Turkish food stall "Ruby's Kebab".

DSC_2933.JPG

The kebab, which has a good cospa, has a good response to eating and delicious.

DSC_2934.JPG

And what is Harumi Wharf, the first and last stop of the tour bus, a trip advisor?
I was ranked 19th in "Popular Date Spot 2018"
Despite the fact that there are popular shopping and gourmet areas such as Ginza and Tsukiji, there are also areas that are popular for shopping and gourmet food.
We surpassed them and achieved the only top 20 from Chuo-ku!

DSC_2938.JPG

At night, you can enjoy the light-up of the Rainbow Bridge.
You can relax while listening to the sound of the waves.
It is a recommended spot for those who are not good at places with many people.

Chuo-ku has a beautiful spot with interesting history, culture, and night view.
Every time you come, you will surely have a new discovery!
Please come and visit us when you come nearby.

Chuo-ku x Spain (2)-Nihonbashi seen by Rodrigo-

[Hanes] Nov. 12, 2018 09:00

Hello. This is a new correspondent, Hanes.
The other day, in "Chuo-ku x Spain (1)-Food and Architecture-", I mentioned the relationship with Spain found in Chuo-ku.
This time, I would like to introduce the exchange with Spanish people about 400 years ago.

IMG_20181108_210657.jpg

The time is the night of September 30, old calendar, Keicho 4 (1609).
The Spanish ship San Francisco, which was heading from Manila, Philippines to Mexico, was distressed at Tajirihama, Iwawada-mura, Kazusa (now Onjuku-cho, Chiba Prefecture)....
The ship had 373 passengers, including the Spanish Don Rodrigo (Philippines' Temporary Secretary-General of the Philippine and the Countess of the later Deputy King Nueba España).
When Edo shogunate learned about it, 317 out of 373 people survived!

Before leaving Uraga to Mexico, Rodrigo stops at Otaki, Edo, Sunpu, Kyoto, Bungo (Oita Prefecture), Usuki, etc.
The secretary Manuel de Mora wrote down the sights and interactions with Ieyasu on the way, and
I submitted a report to the King of Spain Ferlipe as a report
The report contains detailed Japanese customs, etc., and is a valuable resource that shows the appearance of Japan about 400 years ago.

When you read "Don Rodrigo's Japan Observations 400 Years ago by Spanish" which is easy for children to read, you can read.
There was an interesting description, so this time I would like to introduce some of them from the book.

■Was it unexpectedly similar? Japanese and Spanish customs
[Thanks and Greetings] (p. 18)
"The lord of Otaki had a wonderful reception like a courtesy of the court of the city of Madrid, the capital of Ispania."
"I came out to pick up the Lord, but when he saw me, he stopped and saluteed with his hands and head in the same way as Spain. And the Lord kissed me with my hand."

[Seat] (pp. 18-19)
「(...The Lord and I gave each other for a while, asking which one should arrive at the upper seat. Among the people of Ispania, the right side is the upper seat, but in Japan, the person who is the sword on the left side is the upper seat. That's because it's better to put the opponent on the right side to pull out the sword and cut it off. On the left side, there is a close person to trust. The Lord forcibly recommends me to the upper seat on the left."

It seems that both countries had similar bows and humility of giving up senior seats.
It was an unexpected discovery that was not expected only in Japan at the time when there were still few exchanges with overseas.

■Otaki Castle (p. 19)
"Between the first and second gates, there are bunkers, vegetable gardens, Inada, and gardens, and even if they are surrounded by enemies, they can be held for months."
All the rooms in the room guided were wooden buildings, and in Japan, there is a description that stones are not used in rooms where high-ranking people live due to fear of earthquakes.

I myself have become interested in Japanese castles over the past few years.
I didn't think the structure of Japanese castles would be praised from overseas.
And I was able to know why I was particular about wooden architecture, and that the people at that time lived with considerable awareness of earthquakes.
In this way, you can reconfirm the fun of history.

■Town of Edo (p. 29)

"There is a gate (Kido) in the town, which is divided by occupation and people. (...) Everyone lives separately and is not cluttered. "
「(...) There seems to be a section called fish market, so I was guided. Here, various fresh and dried fish of the sea and river, salted fish, and many large cages were filled with water and fish were sold. There are many fish selling, so when selling poorly, I go out to the street and sell it. "

IMG_2923.JPG

The "fish market" introduced here refers to the fish market "fish shore" in Nihonbashi for about 300 years until it was relocated to Tsukiji in 1935.
At present, there is a monument of "Nihonbashi Fish Market Opening Site" in Hashizume "Otohime no Hiroba" northeast of Nihonbashi.

IMG_2919.JPG

At that time, the area around Nihonbashi was crowded with many shoppers from the early morning, along with daytime playhouses and Yoshiwara at night.
It is said that the fish shore in the morning was thriving enough to be said to be "a place where a thousand cars fall in one day."
Just as Tsukiji Market was very popular among overseas people.
The vibrancy of the fish shore at that time was also novel to the eyes of Spanish Rodrigo, and it may have been very impressive.

Nihonbashi_Uogashi.jpg
(The statue of Otohime is drawn on the back of the fish living in Ryugu Castle.)

In addition, in addition to the characteristics of Japanese politics and the position of women, we also have a view to promoting this.
The benefits of friendship with Japan (for example, if a ship from Manila to Nueva España calls in the cold land of Japan and loads fresh and fine food on the ship, it can be preserved for a long time and avoids food corruption, which is the main cause of the death of passengers).

The relationship between Chuo-ku and Spain, which was sent in a two-part series this time...
It is a history known to those who know it, but a few years before the prohibition was issued by Edo shogunate.
It's interesting to have such a deep exchange that affects diplomatic relations.
Chuo-ku is still a place where exchanges with overseas have been flourishing.
After enjoying Spanish cuisine, why don't you think about the exchange about 400 years ago?

Chuo-ku x Spain (1)-Food and Architecture-

[Hanes] Nov. 5, 2018 18:00

Good evening. This is a new correspondent, Hanes.
There are many shops in Chuo-ku that serve overseas dishes.
Do you have any favorite shops?
Personally, I miss the Spanish food that my host mother sometimes cooks.
I often go to a Spanish restaurant in search of Paerilla or Tapas.

The other day, I had a paerilla lunch at LA BODEGA on the 10th floor of Tokyu Plaza.

DSC_2802.JPG

It was the decisive factor to choose this one among the many Spanish restaurants.
It means that you can enjoy "seafood and sea urchin, Iberico pork MIX Paerilla" limited to Ginza store!
There seems to be no luxury paella with sea urchins.

DSC_2792.JPG

Because it is lunchtime on holidays, the stylish interior of the shop is almost full.
I'm glad that there are counter seats that are easy for one person to use.

LaBodega.jpg

In addition to tapas, there are plenty of Spanish wines, so you can enjoy an adult dinner.

La Bodega 2.JPG

The tapas we had at this lunch is a tortilla of vegetable terrine, lentil beans, and potatoes from the left.
All had a modest taste that complemented the main paella, and the quantity was just right.

DSC_2797.JPG

And the paerilla, who came out with fullness, is the ultimate of luxury
There are so many kinds of seafood and Iberico pork generously.
With the addition of sea urchin, it has a very rich finish....
As you can see, there was a response to eating, and it was a very satisfying lunch.

DSC_2798.JPG

Why don't you take a look when you want to eat Spanish food in Ginza?

On the other hand, "I wish I could easily enjoy the tastes of various Spanish restaurants in Ginza....It is possible to fulfill the wishes of those who think.
"Ginbar" is a project that is held regularly in Ginza and allows you to enjoy Spanish cuisine and sake at an affordable price.
The next event is as follows.

Silver Bar Vol.4 ~ Autumn Mushroom Festival ~ Spanish trip starting from Chuo-dori
Date and time: From 17:00 on November 12, 2018 (Mon) to 24:00 on 18th (Sun)
Website: https: // Silver Bar. tokyo/

You can enjoy Spanish cuisine at a great price, and if you find your favorite restaurant, it's two birds with one stone.

And besides such Spanish cuisine, there is a relationship between Chuo-ku and Spain.
One of them is the brick-colored building with a presence that catches your eye while walking in Ginza.

DSC_2823.JPG

Yes, it's the Shiseido Building where Shiseido Parlour is located.
I guess there are many people who are a little surprised at this.

This is designed by Spanish architect Ricardo Bofil, and was completed in 2001 as the Tokyo Ginza Shiseido Building.
He is also designing buildings in Tokyo and its suburbs.

When it comes to design, the influence unique to Spain is not apparent, but it is not apparent.
Chuo-ku is home to many exchanges with countries around the world.Airplane
Interestingly, it also applies to a period of about 400 years back.
This will be introduced in "Chuo-ku x Spain (2)-Nihonbashi seen by Rodrigo-".

I want to participate at least once! Ginza's "Silver Tea Party" is colored by street trees

[Hanes] Nov. 4, 2018 12:00

Hello. This is a new correspondent, Hanes.
I participated in the 17th "Silver Tea Party" held in Ginza on October 28 (Sun).
This event, which can be said to be a feature of autumn in Ginza, has a high threshold and cannot be experienced.
It is very popular among women because it allows you to experience authentic tea ceremony.
I've been looking forward to participating this year for a long time.

Gincha.jpg

It may be surprising for those who are not familiar with the "Silver Tea Party".
In fact, instead of being held in an indoor tea room, the town of Ginza will be the Nodot venue.
I'm happy to be able to stop by for free while coming to the silver bra.

Gincha4.jpg

However, in order to participate free of charge, you will need a tea ceremony ticket distributed at each tea ceremony.
The flow to the event is as follows.
①I'll have a number tag.
②In exchange for a tea ceremony ticket with the start time of the participation round (three times a hour, about 20 minutes each time)
③Return to the tea ceremony at least 5 minutes before the start
④Participation

Gincha5.jpg

And it is recommended that you decide which tea ceremony to participate in in advance!
For Omotesenke, Urasenke, Mushakojisenke, Edo Senke, and Enshu-ryu tea ceremony.
This is because tea ceremonies of different schools are held in different places.
Some of you may be wondering, "I don't know the school, so I'm going to use which tea ceremony."
Why don't you choose a silver tea ceremony original sweets that differ for each tea ceremony?
There are only rare sweets made by a famous restaurant in Ginza for this tea ceremony.
The tea ceremony you want to participate in will be decided immediately.

Gincha2.jpg

For me, I don't have much image of the tea ceremony in Urasenke.
Select a place to offer "Kashi-Persimmon-" at Cafe Comsa Ginza store.
The sweets are eclectic in Japanese and Western styles, but it was a gorgeous finish different from other Japanese sweets.

DSC_2912.JPG

The design of the bowl was different, and there were some autumn-like ones with autumn leaves and persimmons.
(* Originally, it is not good to shoot at the tea seat, but this time I shot a little so as not to bother others.)

DSC_2914.JPG

Not only for foreign visitors to Japan, but also for Japanese who do not usually have the opportunity to experience the tea ceremony.
I think the silver tea ceremony will be a very valuable experience.
Unfortunately, those who missed the opportunity this year, next year in Ginza, where the street trees began to change color.
Why don't you experience traditional Japanese culture?

After all, Japan is the best! "Delicious Domestic Agricultural Products Charity Distribution Party"

[Hanes] Nov. 2, 2018 09:00

Hello. This is a new correspondent, Hanes.
On October 27 (Saturday), I went to the delicious Ginza x food and agriculture, forestry and fisheries festival "Delicious Domestic Agricultural Products Charity Distribution Party" held at Sukiyabashi Park (5-chome side).

This year's 18th distribution event will focus on vegetables used by famous restaurants in Ginza on a daily basis.
Producers who have a relationship with restaurants in Ginza took a lot of time and effort and raised them with a focus on safety and security.
It is said that you can enjoy fresh vegetables, fruits, domestic rice, etc.
It is one of the annual events in Ginza, a must-see for women who do housework (especially cooking).

At the opening of 12:30, a long line had already been formed around Sukiyabashi Park.

charity.jpg

With a donation of 100 yen or more, you can enjoy the taste of autumn in 16 prefectures!
Apples, persimmons, rice, dried potatoes, sweet potatoes, mushrooms, etc.
All of them are just tasty season, so they're blind.

IMG_2588.JPG

The most popular one was the "Shinano Sweet & Shinano Gold" apple from Nagano City.Apple
The distribution ended in no time!
In addition, set of lotus root and dried potatoes from Ibaraki Prefecture.
Gunma Prefecture's brand rice "Komatsuhime", brand rice "Mizuki Night", and Yamatoimo set also ended relatively early.

charity1.jpg

Unfortunately, even if you can't get what you want, please.
It's nice to be able to buy similar domestic agricultural products at the antenna shop.

Saitama Prefecture's "Sai no Kagayaki" pack rice, pear "Xinxing", cucumber and komatsuna set

IMG_2608.JPG

After returning home, I immediately made kabosu soba using Oita kabosu.
It is domestic and you can eat with confidence if you know the production area, so you can enjoy your appetite.

In such a charity distribution party, the largest number of loose characters in the past are gathered.
With a nice service that allows you to take pictures together.
(The right end of the photo in the upper left is the loose character "Nijinoko" of the Japan National Council of Social Welfare, Chuo-ku.)

charity3.jpg

If you missed the opportunity this year, we will cooperate with charity next year.
Why don't you enjoy freshly picked domestic agricultural products?
(* The proceeds from this distribution society will be donated to the Japan National Council of Social Welfare, Chuo-ku.)
