New Year's dishes, nighttime bells, Chinowa gourgle...It's Tsukiji at the end of the year!

[Hanes] December 31, 2018 09:00

Hello. This is a new correspondent, Hanes.
This year was the end of the year in no time, but how are you all going?
I think you may be busy preparing for New Year's Day.
When it comes to buying Datemaki, Kazunoko, Kurikinton, etc., which are indispensable for New Year's cuisine, it's time to buy
"At the end of the year! It's Tsuiji.

So, on New Year's Eve, I greeted Tsukiji Honganji, where you can hit the bell of nighttime, and then gave a greeting.
(* Bell bell towers will distribute 350 numbered tickets (one shot per ticket) from 22:00 on New Year's Eve. Click here for more information.

Even after the relocation of Toyosu, I went to Tsukiji Outer Market, where the bustle did not decline.
You can try to line up in a large line of more than 50 people in front of a long-established egg-yaki shop.
In another famous egg-yaki shop, I saw many clerks busy packing boxes for shipping.
There were more crowds than usual, and I was able to enjoy the lively Tsukiji.

Thumbnail image of IMG_3665.JPG

After that, we headed for Tsukiji Namishi Inari Shrine!
During the Manji period (1658-1661), landfill work in the Tsukiji area was not easy due to the waves, but as a result of worshiping the statue of Inari Myojin, which came out of the sea, the waves subsided.
This shrine was founded because it was able to proceed with construction.

The New Year's great exorcism ceremony is held until the 31st.

IMG_3679.JPG

You can go through Chinowa.
Why don't you pray for sound health and others for the new year?

IMG_3673.JPG

You can also visit the protection against misfortune ceiling large lion (wish skewers).

IMG_3675.JPG

IMG_3676.JPG

Put the wish skewer that wrote wish in the basket on the tongue of this large lion, and remember,
It is said that a large lion will swallow wish and fulfill it.

IMG_3677.JPG

The large ceiling lion is male and has a corner at the top of the head, and the black lion is female and has a giboshi.
This shrine has cultural properties that we want to keep as a measure against the Chuo-ku sightseeing certification.
If you have a chance to come to visit, check the large lion and the water bowl.

IMG_3669.JPG

And the Chinese zodiac sign in 2019 is also near the ceiling large lion.
Why don't you take a look at this as well?

IMG_3684.JPG

Recently, I heard that there are towns in the Kanto region that have suddenly cooled down and recorded 60 cm of snow.
When you go out, wear it like a calf sparrow and warm it out!

The cozy and taste are good! Capris, a hidden home-style Western restaurant

[Hanes] December 30, 2018 12:00

Hello. This is a new correspondent, Hanes.
Did you eat something special on the day of Christmas?
I went to a long-awaited lunch at Caprice, a hidden home-style Western restaurant that I was worried about for more than a year.

The surrounding area is the area of Hatchobori, where residential areas are relatively noticeable.
The door of the shop is fitted with something like a Victoria morning stained glass.
Located in the back alley of a British city, it features a cute appearance like a tea room that is familiar to local residents.

DSC_3372.JPG

The recommendation of this shop is a daily one-plate lunch!
One plate is a cafe-like sound, isn't it?
On the day of use, in addition to the composition of young chicken peach meat and herbs of Sagochi (changed to Shimaji), a menu of salad, butter rice, and soup.
When you enter the store with excitement about what it looks and tastes....

DSC_3369.JPG

It was a very small and cozy space where the word cosy was perfect.
I couldn't imagine it from the exterior, but it was also highly evaluated that fashionable Western music was flowing.

DSC_3373.JPG

Soup is self-service and free to replace.
I went to get soup and enjoyed the atmosphere of the shop.
The fragrant butter rice and the one plate you want have been carried.

It was overturned my expectations in a good sense, "somehow more authentic than cafes."
The amount of salad and good freshness were high!
While there are many shops where salads and appetizers come out first, if you want to have vegetables from time to time while eating the main, reconfirm that there may be such a one plate.

DSC_3374.JPG

Will this confi and herb-grilled finish in Cali be conveyed in the photo?
It's just right, and the salt content of the sauce is exquisite.
And the most impressive thing was the config!
At first glance it looks like a simple cooking, and it's actually time-consuming.
The meat is soft, with a moderate mix of greyby and oil.
It was delicious with a nostalgic taste like home cooking I ate at homestay.

DSC_3375.JPG

The soup is a taste that goes well with both Western and Japanese dishes.
It contained fried oil, bacon (chunk), asparagus (autumm potem), and tofu.
I want to make it by imitating it.

At night, it will be open on a separate menu, so if you are not working nearby, it may be better to use it at night.

DSC_3377.JPG

The atmosphere and taste are good, and the shop is very kind and perfect.
Please note that the payment is only cash.
I am not the only person who really wants to use it like a "hideaway"
When you come around Hatchobori, why not stop by?

[Chuo-ku Tourism Certification Measures] Songs and catchphrases

[Hanes] December 29, 2018 09:00

Hello. This is a new correspondent, Hanes.
This time, we will focus on songs and catchphrases, and introduce useful information for Chuo-ku sightseeing certification measures!

First of all, it's a song, but I don't say you should remember everything.
At least, let's keep the lyrics, composition, singers (if you have a representative person), and singing lyrics!
(If you can afford it, it may be a good idea to keep the performance of the lyricist / composer and the lyrics of other parts.)

These are not all songs and catchphrases related to Chuo-ku, but they are not all.
Like the previous Haiku and Kawayanagi, there are many impressive things.
When walking around the town, be sure to check these out.

※In this article, we will introduce some of the reasons for this.

[Chuo-ku Tourism Certification Measures] Haiku and Kawayanagi

[Hanes] December 28, 2018 18:00

Hello. This is a new correspondent, Hanes.
The date of the Chuo-ku Tourism Examination Examination is approaching, but is your study progressing smoothly?
This time, I will introduce you to visiting historical sites in Chuo-ku, which also serves as a measure against Haiku and Kawayanagi.

■Mrs. Takeko Kujo, poetry monument
She was born in Kyoto as the second daughter of the gatekeeper of Nishi Honganji Temple and married Baron Yoshiyuki Kujo at the age of 21.
My husband has been living separately for nearly 10 years due to studying and working in the UK.
During that time, I studied Waka (Nobutsuna Sasaki), Painting (Shoen Uemura), and Ikebana (Nishikawa Ikusatei) and refined my talents.

IMG_3622.JPG

The songbooks she left include "Kinsuzu" and "Kaosen" and the essay "Muyuka".
I would like to keep in mind the "Overy Things I'm going to be drawn from the great things" engraved on poetry monument in Tsukiji Honganji Temple.

IMG_3621.JPG

■Kawayanagi, Mizutani Ryotei stone monument
His phrase, worried about the customs of Tsukuda Island and talked about Setsuyoshi Tadataka at home, can be seen on the grounds of Sumiyoshi-jinja Shirine.
"I'm a gentle and hard man,"

■Bronze bell at the time of Kokumachi
This bell was installed in Honishi-cho during the time of the second shogun Hidetada Tokugawa, informing the people of Edo Castle of the time.
Because there was Nagasakiya (Dutch trading post's post office) nearby, Kawayanagi was written....
"I can hear the bell of Kokumachi to the Netherlands."

■poetry monument Takuboku Ishikawa
He joined the Asahi Shimbun in Takiyamamachi, Kyobashi-ku (currently Ginza 6-chome).
For about three years until he died at the age of 26 due to pulmonary tuberculosis, etc., he worked as a proofreader while working as a proofreader.
"Iss of the time when I became a newspaper light in Takiyamamachi in Kyobashi"

IMG_3635.JPG

In addition, his first songbook, "A handful of Sand," begins with "Crying up by the white sand of the shores of Kojima in Tokai and hitting crabs."

■Echigo-ya
Enomoto (Takarai), one of the Juetsu Shomon and a representative of a group called Edoza (which features a flashy phrase that reflects the Edo kid's temperament), wrote such a phrase about Echigoya. .
"Echigo-ya's sound and clothespin,"
The scene seems to suddenly come to my eyes.

IMG_3647.JPG

It's a great deal, so let's remember the other phrases at the corner together.
(We will not explain in detail here, but we recommend that you also check the background where each phrase is written!)

"The path of the crane is as expected in the spring of the sun."
"There is no day when one bell can't be sold, spring in Edo"
"I wonder if this number of boats will be cool."

■Site of Kaikaikan
Kaikaikan, which opened in 1905, is a two-story wooden ryokan in Kappo cuisine, which was relocated from Sendai City.
At that time, this area was a scenic and quiet place with a panoramic view of Tokyo Bay, so famous cultural figures stayed there.
The following is a summary of the Kaikaikan:
"Let's see the winter sea and make the New Tsukuda Sea Water Museum wabi live."
(From Isamu Yoshii's songbook "Poison Utsugi")

■19 tombs
On the left side of his tomb (Shinenzan Toyo-in), the creator of Tokaido Naka-Kurige, is located.
The phrase of a famous dictionary is engraved.
"Goodbye to ashes with the smoke of incense stick in your spare time."

Toyoin. jpg

■The end of Shoin Yoshida
Despite being an excellent man who raised many of the late Tokugawa shogunate soldiers, his resignation phrase, executed in the Kodemmacho prison, is set up in Kodemmacho.
"The body is kept in the Nobe of Musashi even if it does not decay,"

■Sushi
Such a phrase was written because the hand of the craftsman holding the sushi resembles a spell of ninjutsu.
"Vinegar rice held by the body of magic" (Kawayanagi haiku collection "Shufu Yanagi Taru")

I've picked up Haiku and Kawayanagi so far.
All of them are impressive things that are memorable.
If you have a phrase you don't know, why not check it before the test?

※In this article, we will introduce some of the reasons for this.
If you learn the contents written here, you will not be able to pass it.
 Please include it in advance.

Shintomi Town Association Mochitsuki Tournament, where community bonds shine

[Hanes] December 26, 2018 09:00

Hello. This is a new correspondent, Hanes.
Christmas is over, and it is time to prepare for the New Year in earnest.
If you say what to do at this time, write New Year's cards, general cleaning, and sticking!
This time, I would like to introduce the mochi of Shintomi Town Association held on December 23 (Sun).

IMG_3583.JPG

As shown in the flyer above, the venue was the street in front of Shintomi Kuminkan.
Many children gathered with the Tokyo Metro participating this year!

IMG_3584_.jpg

The opportunity to wear Tokyo Metro uniforms and take pictures with Metopon is valuable.
And looking at the panel of the train, the destination was "Shintomi Town Association Mochitsuki Tournament".
What a smart measure! I'm surprised to see this kind of device.

Metro. jpg

There was also a white bike ride experience and a VR earthquake experience corner.

VR.jpg

And when it comes to the main mochi, it's very authentic.
A convenient mochi machine has spread, and it has become difficult to see it!
Even in my hometown, I've only seen it at a traditional bun shop, but I'm sure you'll see it on the streets of Tokyo!
There is no doubt that the rice cake made with seiro is delicious.

IMG_3591.JPG

It's a rice cake that can be experienced regardless of men and women of all ages.
"Oh, it's good," said a vigorous shout.
There were also smiling scenes, such as veterans teaching young people tips on sticking.

Sticking. jpg

There was also a mayor of Chuo from Shintomi-cho, and I was able to see a little bit of the vision of Chuo-ku after the Tokyo 2020 Games.
The mochi was served as zoni, grated radish, kinakomochi, and anmochi, and was crowded with many people.

IMG_3616_.jpg

Thank you to the women who prepared the mochi skillfully!

IMG_3618.JPG

In the meantime, I had a zoni.
The soup stock was effective and the scent of yuzu was good.
Also, it's nice to have two large rice cakes.

IMG_3612.JPG

In addition, the sake "Shintomiza" was also served by adults.
Currently, the Kyobashi Tax Office is under construction, so you cannot see the information board at the site of Shintomiza.
Shintomiza (Relocated from Asakusa Saruwakacho in 1872. At that time, it was still called Morita-za) was used as a symbol of Civilization and enlightenment by using gas lamps.
It is said that the ninth generation Danjuro Ichikawa worked on a new historical drama (live history) and contributed to the development of the theater world.
It is an indispensable theater for talking about theater in Chuo-ku.

IMG_3593.JPG

9 months since I started a correspondent...
One of the attractions of Chuo-ku that I discovered this year is the bonds of the community.
I came to Tokyo with the image that people in Tokyo have no neighborhood relationship and are cold.
It was an amazing and happy discovery
Next year, I would like to participate in local events and touch on the goodness of Chuo-ku.

※About this event, we have permission of introduction from town council.

Rediscover the charm of Japanese tea! @ The 72nd National Tea Festival (3)

[Hanes] December 25, 2018 14:00

Hello. This is a new correspondent, Hanes.
This is the final report of the 72nd National Tea Festival Report.

■Yoshimura Co., Ltd.
At this booth, we were able to compare matcha or sencha at different temperatures of HOT, COOL, and room temperature.
I choose matcha that I don't usually drink too much! Personally, I felt HOT was the most delicious.

IMG_3577_.jpg

If you answer the questionnaire and vote for the temperature you feel the most delicious, you will be able to do so.
I received a heart-shaped tea bag tea (left photo).

IMG_3578.JPG

■Aichi Prefectural Horticulture and Agriculture Division (Nishio Tea Cooperative)
We had a milling experience here, and we were able to make matcha.
Turning the stone mill counterclockwise at a pace of roll once a second, maybe a little matcha came out of the gap!
Although it was a small amount, I was happy to have the matcha that I saw myself (right in the photo above).

IMG_3567.JPG

■Shizuoka Tea Commerce and Industry Cooperative
At this booth and adjacent table, where the letters "Shizuoka Tea BAR" are particularly eye-catching.
I chose one of the 17 kinds of tea from famous tea producing areas in Shizuoka Prefecture, and learned how to make delicious tea and taste it.

IMG_3563_.jpg

IMG_3570.JPG

I chose Fukuroi tea, which depicts "Dechaya" in the Ukiyo-e of Hiroshige Utagawa at the post town in the middle of the Tokaido.
(Tokaido, Hiroshige Utagawa)...There is also a connection with Chuo-ku!
Fukuroi tea served by a traveler walking along the Tokaido....Don't you worry about it?

This tea is said to be "blue and clear green, and its freshness seems to be reminiscent of a specialty melon."...
Look at my tea in a slightly darker (3g) and I'm convinced.

DSC_3314.JPG

While talking about the tea teacher who was present and the parent and child who likes tea, each of them has chosen.
I had Karinto and Western sweets.
Two cups of tea can be brewed, and the first and second cups change the astringency.
I enjoyed both cups with fresh feeling.

After that, I answered the questionnaire and had this cold tea.
It's a stylish container, so if you shoot it with ikebana, it looks Instagrammable.

DSC_3317.JPG

On the way home, I answered a questionnaire near the entrance of the venue and received two types of tea that I liked.
It was a very satisfying event that I couldn't think it was free, and it was a good opportunity to review the appeal of Japanese tea.

IMG_3581.JPG

Even if you missed this opportunity, you can see the antenna shops in each prefecture in Chuo-ku.
You can buy a variety of teas from various places.

DSC_3311.JPG

Why don't you drink warm Japanese tea this winter and rediscover the goodness?

※We have received permission to introduce this event from a representative of the Japan Tea Industry Central Association.
