On the 8th floor "Communication Zone OPUS", 4K images of whale sharks and sea creatures of Okinawa are screened with powerful large screens and high-resolution sounds full of realism.

On Saturdays and Sundays in July and August during the period, a “business trip class” will be held by the breeders of the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium, which can be learned by parents and children.

I came to see the so-called "Shiokara dragonfly" at nearby Tsukuda Park.

When both male and female are immature, the body is pale brown and black spots, and the compound eyes are light brown, but the color of the body and compound eyes changes depending on the degree of maturity.

Males become darker when mature, and the back of the abdomen is covered with grayish-white powder, and a two-tone dress. It is said that the name is derived from this powder as salt.

The compound eye is dark blue, and it is said to be the model of the lyrics of the nursery rhyme "dragonfly's Glasses" "dragonfly's Glasses are Mizuiro Glasses ...".

Females do not change their body color even when they mature, and are commonly referred to as "Mugiwara dragonflies".

In rare cases, even females seem to be covered with powder and have a shiokara shape, but it is possible to distinguish between male and female due to the difference between the color of the compound eye and the shape of the tail tip.

It is widely adapted and inhabited in ponds, wetlands, paddy fields, ditchs, puddles, artificial water fields, etc.

There are several reasons why dragonflies are relatively healthy in the city center of Tokyo.

First of all, the existence of grass and ground as a feeding ground. In other words, there must be a green space where small insects fly around to a certain extent, such as parks, gardens, riverbed, baseball stadiums and soccer fields.

And there are trees and grasses that rest their wings, and watersides that spawn.

Many dragonflies found in the city center are considered to be a type of spawning ground where relatively shallow and little flow is relatively low.

Wild creatures are actually quite strong.
