"Ginza Senbikiya" Tsukiji store opened today as a "sweets and chocolate specialty store using seasonal fruits". Shigeko Ikeda was well known as a kimono collector, but he died last October while looking forward to this exhibition. There are many magazines and books, so I think many people are familiar, but actually seeing it is also exceptional. "It seems that the collection was triggered by one obi, looking for kimonos and obis that match the obi, and if you notice it, the number will exceed 10,000 items" (from Matsuya's pamphlet).
The "Obidome" on display is amazing. Of course, there are many things that use gemstones, but are they the subject of obi retaining, such as insects, bats and centipedes, vegetables, eggplants and broad beans? There's something I think.
What kind of band and kimono did you coordinate with this obi? I feel like I was able to show the depths of the kimono world. Since it is the New Year, there are many Ikeda-san fans and kimono lovers, and the venue will be more noticeable with stylish kimonos.
