Monjayaki vs. Okonomiyaki

[Sunset Hill] June 21, 2010 10:00

6/19 (Saturday) We participated in a gathering to enjoy the taste of the world under the name of "Monja World Cup".

It's an international exchange salon.

Since the number of people is large, check at hand with the reflector above.

I had never eaten monjayaki before, and okonomiyaki was more familiar to me.

First of all, the sauce maker taught me the history of the sauce, how to make monjayaki, and tips.

The difference from okonomiyaki was mainly the amount of cabbage.

Everyone makes a basic Japanese version of Monja once, and then divides into countries such as Korea, Taiwan, China, Italy, etc., and challenges each country's proud Monjayaki.

Some countries put kimchi, while others put pork or mutton.

Once baked, go around each country with a postcard (a tool that replaces chopsticks used when taking monja from an iron plate) to taste the monja.                          kunibetu.JPG

It's the Ghana version of South Africa

After this, rub the bank, spread the whole thinly, and burn it.

Kukusu (pasta still smaller than sesame), tomatoes, bacon, palm oil (oil squeezed from Abra palm nuts), chickpeas and other standards. It was delicious.

The first place is "Mexican version of Monjayaki"

Lemon was working well.

Congratulations

Finally, a prize was presented to the top three places by everyone's vote.

It was a short time, but it was a fun time to cook and talk with foreigners.

I would like to thank the many people who took care of me in various ways, such as preparing materials.

The next international exchange salon is said to be "Let's wear a yukata at Tanabata" on July 10 (Saturday).

It is said that yukata will be prepared for foreigners.

Tsukiji River Park Early June

[Silver] June 21, 2010 10:00

In early June of this year, neat flowers were blooming under the influence of the heavy rain in May.

The photo below is an empty tree.

It is "Gumi" that reminds me of the nostalgic taste.

The pomegranate flowers also begin to bloom.

What? There is an avocado tree!

That's right. Let's look for it in the middle of the walk.

The tip is on the aisle.

The statue of the heavenly woman at the Mitsukoshi Nihonbashi Main Store and the marble pillars

[Yurikamome] June 16, 2010 09:00

The Mitsukoshi Nihonbashi Main Store was opened as an Echigo-ya, a kimono dealer in the Edo period, but in 1904, it became the first department store in Japan to declare the Department Store.

The current building incorporating Renaissance architecture was completed in 1935 (1935).

In 1999 (1999), it was selected by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government as a "Tokyo Metropolitan Historic Building".

It is also famous for the Lion Pipe Organ Mitsukoshi Theater, but I was always concerned about the "Tenjo Statue" in the central hall.

Here are some pillars containing ammonite fossils.

Statue of Godo

This is an image that symbolically expresses the basic philosophy of our customers, true heart.

It is a masterpiece completed by master craftsman Gengen Sato over about 10 years.

It was erected in 1960 in the central hall on the first floor of the main store to commemorate the 50th anniversary of its founding.

It is the moment when a heavenly woman wrapped in Zuiun descends on the flower core.

The whole picture was thought to you well, and only the center of the statue was large.

Ammonite

The interior, which uses a lot of marble, contains many fossils of various sizes from the dinosaur era.

It is called Ann Mogai and Kikuishi that are trapped inside.

It can be found here and there, such as pillars and walls in the Mitsukoshi Main Store.

Introduction of fire boats (Fireboat)

[Yurikamome] June 3, 2010 09:00

The Tokyo Fire Department harbor fire department is located in the fifth town of Harumi, Chuo-ku.

I moved from Kachidoki 5-chome as a temporary government building on August 3, last year.

We protect us from both the land fire and the sea fire.

There are 5 fire boats and 2 water scooters.

In addition to being active in accidents such as fires at sea or broken overhead lines, rescue of lives, etc., we also raise welcome fountains when large foreign passenger ships arrive.

Miyakodori 119 tons maximum speed 20.76 knots

It is a large science fire boat that can discharge large amounts of water.

It is equipped with two water guns of 10,000, 7,000, and 5,000L per minute.

Sumida 39 tons maximum speed 20 knots

Equipped with a telescopic water discharge tower, it is a 30-ton class that enables effective water discharge to tankers and high altitudes.

    It's a chemical fire boat.

It has high pump performance and water discharge capacity, and can cooperate with large-scale, long-distance water transmission vehicles on land.

It is equipped with a 150mm water outlet.

Until I lived near the fire department, I wasn't conscious of this kind of thing, but always let us know.

I am once again grateful that I have been active in protecting and protecting various disasters and accidents.

Every March, the fire department is opened to residents of the city, and it is said that it will create a day for interested people to visit.

I would like to take advantage of such opportunities to deepen my understanding.

※ As I posted on last year's blog, Costakurasica (large passenger ship) dive in the Rainbow Bridge.

"Miyakodori" and "Sumida" who raised the fountain high and expressed their welcome when entering the port at Harumi Wharf. I remembered that.
