Yae-zakura Akashicho welcomes you Mid April, 2016

[Silver] April 14, 2016 12:00

Today is a walk in Akashicho.

The road between St. Luke's International University and Maruyama Nori Store is called "Idomechi-dori".

At the southeast corner of Akashi Elementary School, there is an explanation panel about the settlement, which is convenient to learn about the history of this area.

At the Catholic Tsukiji Church, Sekiyama of Yae-zakura welcomed me in a soft warm pink color.

A little more in the direction of Mr. Shiose, Akashicho Ryokudo had unique flowers of Yae-zakura's "turmeric" and "Kazuha".

"turmeric" is turmeric. It was named because it resembles that color.

"Kazuha" in the photo is said to have been named because there is a single green meshibe in the center of the petals.

On the other side, Sekiyama (Kanzan) shook a fluffy, dark pink petals in the wind.

In the middle of the cherry blossom viewing in Yae-zakura, visit a monument to learn about the predecessor of the famous university here in Akashicho, the birthplace of the Mission School.

Monument of "The Birthplace of Women's Seigakuin"

And the monument "Aoyama Gakuin Memorial Land"

20160412Akashicho 008.JPG

There are many monuments around St. Luke's International Hospital and International University.

The fact that this land was designated as a settlement from the end of the Tokugawa period has led to Japan's Civilization and enlightenment since the Meiji era.

Going back a little more history, I think it would be good to face the Asano Family Residence in Genroku period, the Dutch studies at the end of the Edo period, and the monument to the birthplace of Keio University related to the dismantled Shinsho. Please enjoy Akashicho with a slightly different taste.

The process and hardships that led to the naming of "Residential Street"

You can see it on the website of "NPO Tsukiji Retaining Study Group", which is engaged in research activities on settlements.

Ginza Sakura-dori St. Yae-zakura in Ginza 1-chome is in full bloom.

[Silver] April 13, 2016 12:00

The so-called Kyobashi police box is officially called "Tsukiji Police Station Ginza 1-chome police box", but it is called "Tsukiji Police Station Ginza 1-chome police box".

The row of cherry blossom trees that leads from here toward Yurakucho is named "Ginza Sakura-dori St.".

20160412 159.JPG

Most of the Sakura-dori St. is Yae-zakura such as Sekiyama and it's best to see it now. About 25 trees are planted on the north side and more than a dozen trees on the south side.

There are antenna shops in Ibaraki, Fukui, Kochi, Okinawa, Yamagata, etc., where you can enjoy shopping.

"Tokyo Art Entertainment 2016" will be held at some galleries in Nihonbashi, Kyobashi, and Ginza districts.

Please enjoy the warm spring breath of Yae-zakura before and after that.

I think this beautiful Yae-zakura blooms early this year.

I think you can enjoy it until around April 17th.

Enjoy cherry blossom viewing in Ginza.  Ginzo

first shrine visit for a newborn (Suitengu)

[Tachibana] April 12, 2016 16:00

On April 10th (Sun), I went to Mr. Suitengu as a prayer for safe delivery and his grandson, first shrine visit for a newborn.

sui1.jpg

The first thing that surprised me when I arrived at Suitengu after noon was that I only visited main hall and had to wait for more than an hour before entering the precincts.

If you think about it, the first "Dog Day" after Suitengu was returned to oyster shell town. It may be natural that you can't wait and come to visit.

But we still have a two-month-old grandson, and if we thought we would have to give up today, the security guard told us that first shrine visit for a newborn would be able to enter without waiting, so I immediately applied for first shrine visit for a newborn and quickly passed through the waiting room.

The waiting room is a spacious and well-lit room.

The elbows of the bench in the waiting room can be raised, and if it is vacant, it seems that you can keep the baby sleeping while waiting. There is also a nursing room.sui9.jpg
And a celebration flower was received from Prime Minister Abe.

sui6.jpg
It is a long corridor that leads from the room where Mr. chief priest pays to the exit.

Thanks to Suitengu's consideration so that pregnant women and babies will not be lined up for too long, we were able to complete the visit safely.
Thank you very much.

Tsukiji Market Tour and Sushi Making Class

[CAM] April 10, 2016 16:00

Today (April 9), a total of nine students, eight U.S. university students and one attendant instructor, were invited to the Tsukiji Market in response to an acquaintance.

On Saturday, Tsukiji Market was noticeable by visitors, especially foreigners. Chinese people don't know from their appearance, so the ratio of foreigners seems to be quite high.

I will focus on photos where the face is difficult to identify as much as possible.

In addition, I have obtained a license (English) of an interpreter guide, but according to today's Yomiuri Shimbun, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism has revised the law (deregulation) so that even non-qualified employees can be guided for a fee. It seems to be in the direction. It seems to be a measure to further promote the inbound business and to welcome the Olympics smoothly.

Visit the Seafood Intermediate Wholesalers Area.

IMG_2911.JPGThere were quite a lot of people outside the venue

IMG_2913.JPGAlthough the cherry blossoms have already begun to fall, we walked along the banks of the Sumida River to Tsukuda while watching the cherry blossoms.

IMG_2915.JPGThe newly renovated red torii gate of Sumiyoshi-jinja Shirine is still noticeable.

Ginkgo germination

R0037246RSG.jpg "Ginkgo germination" is one of the Japan Meteorological Agency's biological seasonal observation information.

On April 6, the Tokyo Regional Meteorological Observatory announced that "Ginkgo germination has been observed in Tokyo."

When about 20% of the leaves come out, it is considered a "germination date", and this year is one day earlier than normal and two days later than last year.

By the way, the standard ginkgo tree in Tokyo is the so-called "earthquake ginkgo" in the Otebori Ryokuchi (known as Kiyomaro Park) at the northeastern end of the Imperial Palace, which escaped being burned down from the fire caused by the Great Kanto Earthquake.

Ginkgo plants breed worldwide from the Mesozoic to the Cenozoic era, fossils have been excavated, and there are many species, but ginkgo is the only surviving species native to China.

It has a unique characteristic and forms a ginkgo family in one genus.

Even when yellow leaves are even more beautiful, resistant to pests and pruning, can withstand fire heat, is long-lived, and is heavily used as a street tree.

Ginkgo on the green road at Hamacho Park entrance has also sprouted and the season has reached.

Freshness of young green shoots grown from light brown stems.

Even though it has just germinated, it has a fan shape in front of it.

Ginkgo grows fast, so it is said that seeds can become mature trees in relatively short years, and can be bred in Hikobae and branch cutting.

(The right at the beginning is an image of the fresh green season.)

Suitengu - New shrine hall -

[Kra-san] April 10, 2016 09:00

The new shrine of Suitengu has been completed and can be worshiped from April 8 (Fri).

In March 2013, a temporary shrine was set up near Meijiza in Nihonbashihamacho, where the reconstruction of shrine hall and the shrine in Kakigara-cho was carried out.

The new Suitengu Shrine, which incorporates shrine hall and modern architecture, has been transformed into a shrine that is fitted with modern times. The entire precincts will be rebuilt into a new facility with earthquake resistance (full seismic isolation), and it will become evacuation site in the event of an earthquake.

During the construction, the newly relocated "Kiho Inu" (in the surrounding Earthly Branches, it is said that if you stroke your zodiac sign, you will benefit from giving children, safety at home, protection against misfortune, etc.) has returned to the grounds.

In addition, the attached Suitengu-mae police box has been completed in advance (February 17) and has resumed operations. The new police box is a bright and modern glass-walled building that has been redesigned from the conventional police box.

Why don't you visit "Suitengu" which became the new shrine hall?
