Walk along the bridge of Keigo Higashino "When the curtain of prayer goes down"②

[Tachibana] January 21, 2015 09:00

In September last year, as the first step to walk on the bridge at the time of the prayer curtain descends, I wrote about the area near "Yanagibashi" written on the January calendar in the novel, but this time in February of the calendar I would like to write along "Asakusabashi" that was written down in March and "Saemonbashi" in March.

asa1.pngThe town in Chuo-ku, which borders Asakusabashi, is now called "Higashibashi 2-chome", but before the house indication was changed, it was "Nihonbashi Ryogoku". From the image of JR. Ryogoku Station and Ryogoku Kokugikan, the place name Ryogoku is often considered to be Sumida-ku, but the original place name "Ryogoku" was in Chuo-ku. Even now, the name of the post office remains as "Ryogoku Post Office". By the way, the Sumida-ku side was once the place name "Higashi Ryogoku".

ryougokujp.jpgIn addition, on the side of Taito Ward side of Asakusabashi, there is a monument of "Asakusa Mitsuke Ruins". Mitsuke was set up in the Edo period to crack down on people heading to Asakusa Kannon and Oshu.

In the vicinity of Asakusa Mitsuke, Seizaemon Akamatsu took Taiheiki in the Edo Genroku era and became the birthplace of Edo-lecture, but a monument commemorating this was built in the immovable style of Yakken digging.

In addition, there is a county mansion on the Chuo-ku side of Asakusabashi in the Edo period, and an explanatory version is built next to the police box, but there is currently Nihonbashi Jogakukan where the site of the county mansion was located. Although it is a women's junior and senior high school integrated school, a new school building was completed in 2009, and this year's entrance examination will be co-educated and the school name will be changed to "Kaichi Nihonbashi Gakuen".

It's Saemon Bridge.

saemon1.jpgThere is also a boarding house between Asakusabashi and Saemonbashi, and a houseboat is moored.
(I just saw Saemon Bridge from Asakusabashi. The building on the left is Nihonbashi Jogakukan.)

saemon2.jpgSaemon Bridge is bordered by Taito-ku on the north side, Bakuro-cho on the south side, and Chiyoda-ku on the west side.

How to cut pine decorations and bamboo for New Year's Day Hotel Edition

[Silver] January 13, 2015 09:00

We have previously posted pine decorations for New Year's Day.

At the "pine decoration" that celebrates the New Year, "how to cut bamboo" is cut diagonally, cut flat on the nodes, and decorate bamboo bamboo grass with pine, It's different at each shop.

When I introduced this year's "Nihonbashi Seven Lucky Gods Tour", a few customers asked me a question.

It seems that Kadomatsu varies from region to region.

First of all, as for the cut, it seems that it has been cut sideways since ancient times, but since the Warring States period, it has been cut diagonally especially in samurai. It seems that this is called "Sogi".

In places where the tradition of Kyoto is valued, bamboo still does not cut diagonally. So, in Kyoto, there are a lot of "sunto".

In addition to these two basic cutting methods, recently, the top of the bamboo is cut sideways and used a bamboo node to leave the shape of the mouth, so that it is not dangerous.

This time, I photographed the pine decorations of a hotel called a Western Ryokan.

This is the Marriott Hotel "Sogi" at the Kyobashi Trust Tower.

The pine decoration of the Millenium Mitsui Garden Hotel, which opened in December 2014, is Sogi.

The pine decoration of Courtyard Marriott Ginza Tobu Hotel is "Sunto".

And I went to Uchisaiwai-cho and saw the pine decorations of the oldest hotel in Japan, which celebrated its 125th anniversary this year.

This is "Sagi + Mouth" with the upper part of the bamboo flat, the nodes in the middle, and the lower part with a modest opening of the mouth.

Each hotel seemed to be particular about it, and it was a very interesting exploration.

"Mighty stepscoffee stop", a coffee specialty store that you want to drop in casually.

[Mido] January 7, 2015 14:00

What I wanted to introduce this shop on this blog was that the shopkeeper was at the time of separation.
It's great to say to customers, "I have a good day today!"
Because it was refreshing.

Mighty Steps, a coffee specialty store that opened in Nihonbashi Honmachi last July.
The theme of coffee stop is "I want to drop in casually when I want to take a break.
It's a stop.
A 60-year-old wooden house has been renovated, the store is on the first floor, and hair is on the second floor.
The salon "harfwarks RW" and nail salon "ungu" enter.
The store area is 10 tsubo and the number of seats is small, with seven seats.

  001.jpg

To make use of the characteristics of coffee beans, blending is not performed, and normal per cup.
We are particular about the drip type that uses more than 1.5 times beans.
Increase roasting time and slowly roasting beans with hot water that is not too hot.
The face of the shopkeeper who drips paper is serious and feels the tea ceremony.
The coffee menu includes drip coffee (380 yen), iced coffee, and iced coffee.
Café latte and ice cafe latte (450 yen) only. Ethiopia, Kenya,
It offers several kinds of beans, such as from Brazil, according to your preference.

There are also ice cream and baked goods that go well with coffee.
"Organic Ice Cream (380 yen)" had a smooth taste.
(I personally recommend this one.)

 003.jpg

The location is just two alleys from JR Shin-Nihonbashi Station, so it's hard to understand.
I think it's better to aim for a Chinese restaurant (Sorikaen Nihonbashi) opposite.
After eating Chinese food, you can drink delicious coffee with the flow.
In my opinion, the Chinese restaurant in the back alley is cheap and delicious.

The 30th Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Store Nihonbashi Seven Lucky Gods Tour

[Silver] January 6, 2015 17:49

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Nihonbashi Seven Lucky Gods Tour, sponsored by the Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Store, sponsored by the Nihonbashi Shichifukukai, and sponsored by the Chuo-ku Tourism Association.

In front of the Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Store, it was crowded with people who applied for participation from 10 o'clock.

While waiting, you heard a happy conversation, saying, "I'm the twelfth!"

Visit the shrines of 1 Koami Shrine, 2 Chanogi Shrine, 3 Matsushima Shrine, 4 Suehiro Shrine, 5 Kasama Inari Shrine, 6 Suitengu Shrine, 7 Sugimori Shrine, and 8 Takarada Ebiju Shrine in Nihonbashi Seven Lucky Gods.

Have a stamp of proof of worship at Sugimori Shrine on the way.

⑧At Takarada Ebiju Shrine, delicious "Bedarazuke" from Takaya in Tokyo was served and sold. I also bought one souvenir. It is also perfect for beer and sake!

And at Yamamoto-noriten, a cute lucky girl in a glossy kimono was waiting. Thank you very much for taking pictures!

DSC06626 (300x169). jpg

At the back of Yamamoto-noriten's shop, I received a picture plate of this year's zodiac.

At the shop, delicious grilled seaweed is really sold at a special price, and I purchased one.

After that, on the rooftop of Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Store, we received a towel of this year's zodiac sign and an invitation ticket for the exhibition.

At the Mitsukoshi store, the “Good luck Hokusai Treasure Ship Medal Rally” was also held and participated.

I'd like to participate again next year! It was made of silver that made me feel stronger.

This is the result of this year!

May this year be a bright year, I wish you all the health and happiness.

On December 8th, we performed for the second time at Chuo FM Hello! RADIO CITY.

I introduced the Tokyo City Air Terminal (T-CAT), which connects Narita Airport Haneda Airport in Nihonbashihakozakicho by limousine bus.

The limousine bus celebrated its 60th anniversary last year and various events were held.

A retro wrapping bus, a non-orange body bus, appeared, and during the last year, you can get on a bus bound for Narita Airport at the price at the time of its founding ...

There are several restaurants at T-CAT, and many foreigners from the airport recommend it with a unique and good atmosphere, so please drop in when you visit Ningyocho Suitengu, which is within walking distance!

The photo shows the "Limousine Bus Goods & Digout Items Sale" held on October 18th.
