Hello.
It's on the top.
Hot days continue, how are you going to spend?
This time, I would like to introduce the Yoshino Sushi Main Store (3-8-11, Nihonbashi, Chuo-ku), which inherits the tradition of Edomae sushi.
That's right.
Before introducing you, do you know that there was a fish shore in Nihonbashi?
・・・ Time goes back 425 years. In 1590, after Ieyasu Tokugawa entered Edo, Settsu Country
More than 30 fishermen from Tsukuda-mura, Nishinari-gun (now Nishiyodogawa-ku, Osaka Prefecture) went to Edo to create "Tsukuda Island".
With permission to fish in the vicinity of Edo, he offered seafood to the Tokugawa family.
In the sea at that time, a large amount of fish were landed, and even if they were paid to the Tokugawa family, there would be much.
Therefore, fishermen focused on Nihonbashi, which has good water transportation, and began selling seafood on the banks of Nihonbashi.
This is the beginning of the Nihonbashi Fish Bank.
At present, there is a stone monument called "the birthplace of Nihonbashi Fish Market" on the site (1-8 Nihonbashi Muromachi).
At that time, it was so prosperous that it was said that "a thousand cars fell in a day", but it was so prosperous that it was said that "a thousand cars fell in a day."
The market was lost due to the Great Kanto Earthquake. Later, it was decided that the fish shore would be relocated to Tsukiji.
The history of the Nihonbashi Fish Bank, which lasted for about 300 years, will end its curtain.
The Yoshino sushi main store in Meiji period, where there was a fish shore in Nihonbashi, started its business at a stall.
One day, I made a fresh tuna fat that had just been purchased on the fish shore into sushi.
It was a big hit. A regular customer often ordered "sushi that was easy to eat."
It seems that it was named "Toro".
Yes, "Yoshino Sushi Main Store", which has a shop in Nihonbashi 3-chome, is the birthplace of "Toro"!
This photo is from the time I visited Yoshino Sushi Honten.
I was thrilled at lunchtime on weekdays and passed through the noren.
The shop is already full. Businessmen, people who have finished shopping at Takashimaya, etc.
It was a lively and warm atmosphere with people who enjoy drinking from the daytime.
The Yoshino sushi main store has inherited the spirit of "Sushi is the food of the common people" and "Stall sushi loved by the common people" for generations.
I learned about the history of Nihonbashi Fish Bank and became a shop I would like to recommend more and more.

Art Aquarium is a hot topic for its novel taste every time.

The following article is published in the Nikkei Shimbun today (July 10).
Long-established town "Sisters" alliance, Nihonbashi and London-centered Mayfair, cultural transmission and sightseeing attraction.

>Volunteers from long-established stores in Nihonbashi, Tokyo, will collaborate with Mayfair, one of London's leading commercial areas, to develop sales channels and attract tourists from this fall. Work together with Mayfair, where long-established stores are concentrated, as a "sister city" to disseminate traditional products overseas. We aim to increase the recognition of "the long-established Nihonbashi store" for foreign customers who are increasing toward the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and increase the number of customers.
As a commentary on the “Mayfair District”
>The district is located in the City of Westminster, a special ward in central London. Close to world-famous tourist attractions such as Hyde Park, Buckingham Palace, and the British Museum. Long-established stores such as clothing stores and jewelry stores are lined from the head office of large companies. There are many well-known long-established stores in Japan, such as the tailor of Saville Row, a sacred place for suits that became the etymology of suits, Henry Pool, and the shoe store George Clevery. It is also a luxury residential area where politicians and nobles live.
It is said that there is no problem. "Nihonbashi" has a lot in common. I hope Nihonbashi will also be able to build more luxury condominiums and evolve as a "high-end residential area."

Yaesu Book Center Main Store, opposite Yaesu South Exit of JR Tokyo Station Yaesu 2-chome, is currently holding an exhibition and sale of reprinted old maps of Edo, Meiji, and Showa.
Needless to say, Yaesu Book Center is one of the largest bookstores in Tokyo, and when it opened in 1978, it was Japan's largest bookstore.
As a student at that time, I remember thinking, "I can stay here for a day" in the sense of happiness surrounded by specialized books (It's a story from an era where there is no shadow or shape such as Amazon).
Currently, an old map exhibition and sale is being held on this first floor.
On display are maps of Japan and middle maps of the Edo period, maps of Edo and bird's-eye views of Tokyo in Meiji period. Referring to the location of Edo Castle and Hamarikyu, when you start thinking about what is going on at the time of the upper residence of the feudal clan at that time, you forget to see the passage of time.
I think it's beautiful with color printing and can be enjoyed as an interior.
The event will be held until July 12 (Sun).
By the way, because it is located in a business district, I remember that Sunday was closed at the time of opening, but now it is also open on Sunday.

Speaking of Hidemi Sugino, it is known overseas as Japan's leading pateisier, but I have visited a shop in Kyobashi.
The shop is located between the Police Museum near Ginza 1-chome and LIXIL. I heard after 15 o'clock on Weekday Day, and when I entered the store, the big showcase in the center caught my eye. "Well?" Two-thirds of the case is empty. When I asked, it seems that 22 kinds of cakes were completed at the time of opening, but he replied, "It's time ..." According to a friend of the eating shinbo who introduced the shop, "It's really spectacular to line up all the way." There is a cafe in the back of the shop where you can have cakes. There were several types of cakes that were limited to the store, and when I asked, only three of the six types remained. I decided to have these three kinds and wrap several available for souvenirs.
The two groups were guided to the seats and finally became our turn. According to my friend, I waited for an hour on Saturday. Shooting is prohibited inside the store, but we received permission and photographed only on the table. I'm sorry that you can't understand the shape that can only be said to be "beautiful" because the arm in the photo is bad. Can you get 2 pieces with a "light" texture? The cafe au lait is also wonderful. I would like those who say "in short, milk coffee" to eat it. I'm sure you'll get a scale from your eyes. In this case, you can also understand the fan's lament that you don't know if you can buy your favorite cake even if you visit the shop. Some people think that the price of more than 600 yen is a cake, but I think this "beautiful" and "taste" will be "convinced".

Do you know the face that you put on your face when you dance Noh?
Now, turn west at Nihonbashi Maruzen and go to "Tanaka Yaesu Gallery". "Histo Iwasaki Koki Memorial Noh / Kyogen Painting Exhibition" will be held until July 6th.
A scary face, a gentle woman's face, a smiley old man, a foolish face, Daikoku and You may have time to rest your mind without getting tired of watching.
Noh is said to have started in the Muromachi period, and it seems that Noh masks have a long history. Each side reflects the heart of a person (called "Omote") is made of cypress. It is a work that is carved three-dimensionally, painted with chalk, and takes several months to create it.
When viewed from various angles, you can see a different expression, and enjoy the emotions and emotions of humans. I think you can see it.
If you have time, why don't you stop by?
By the way, on June 30, I came to the purification of Natsukoshi at Koami Shrine in Ningyocho. I hope you will be able to spend the next six months again this year.
