A base for local travel in the city center. An interesting hostel in Bakurocho, a wholesale district!

[Shiba Inu] February 27, 2017 09:00

Recently, there has been a series of fashionable hostels that can be easily used in the "super city center" area around Tokyo Station. The feature of these hostels is that they are made with a focus on mobility for those who want to experience the city from morning to night, or from night to morning. What I want is not a luxury, but a cozyness and freshness of information! It's very popular with tourists.

The pioneer of this trend was in the wholesale district, Bakurocho! "IRORI" opened at the end of 2015.

DSC_8512.jpg

It is a large guest house built by renovating a 40-year-old building and can accommodate about 70 people. It starts at 2800 yen per night! The management body is R.Project Co., Ltd., which has launched a number of projects to rediscover the charms of various parts of Japan. Mr. Dai Tamesue, a medalist, is also a member of the board.

IMG_8201.jpg
There is a reception and a cafe on the first floor. There is a real Irori in the entrance space! They are going to bake fish here in the morning and evening. Furniture and interiors have local products from various places, and have plenty of seasonal feeling.

IMG_8202.jpg
This cafe and lounge is also available to ordinary guests who are not staying. Every day, popular shops from all over the country go on business trips to provide delicious food and drink. The price is also affordable! The coffee is carefully brewed over time every cup, and it is very delicious.

DSC_8519.jpg
And the very recommended reason for general use of IRORI's cafe is that there are a lot of free papers and tourist maps!

There are many information magazines, although useful contents are covered not only for tourists but also for neighbors. You can enjoy it just by reading them while drinking coffee at the end of Irori. There are people who send this much maniac information and live information of Chuo-ku....I'm also surprised at that.

IMG_8204.jpgBoth tourists and locals.

It is also a place where you can feel the local culture other than Tokyo.

Please go to "IRORI", where many "people who want to taste Tokyo" come and go regardless of age, gender, regardless of nationality, come and go. Please visit this website for information on the day's cafe menu and accommodation information!

Hinamatsuri

[Marsha Horiuchi of Edo] February 23, 2017 14:00

An exhibition of the "Mitsui Family's Hina-sama," which tells the coming of spring, is being held at the Mitsui Memorial Museum in Nihonbashi until April 2.

According to the literature, "Hina play" is said to have existed since around the Shohei period (about 1070 years ago). Hina doll
When it was done, it was simply made of paper of men and women, and it was not necessarily a play only for women.
The fact that boys also played is in the "Goods and Classes". (From the catalog of Nara Prefectural Crafts Association)

According to the dictionary, "Hinamatsuri" is a celebration of the growth of the family's girls at the Hina doll festival on March 3rd.
With the hope that the children will be elegant and beautiful like the Heian nobles.
It is said that dolls representing the Emperor, Empress, and those who serve the court, dressed in beautiful Heian period costumes are displayed.

If you take a step into the museum, you will find a variety of tea bowls from the period, and if you like tea, you may be a coveted dish.
And there are many of the chicks of Meiji period, and I am surprised by the delicate skill of his work.

In particular, the chick decorations in Photo 2 are 3 meters wide and 5 steps high, and it is said that they are calm in gorgeousness.
I thought it was such a thing.
Hina doll in Photo 4 is a master craftsman at Nihonbashi Jukenten, and 5,6 dolls are works by master craftsman from Kyoto.
Photo 8 shows the heart of Wabi, a villa run by the Kita Mitsui family in the Koiso district of Oiso, Kanagawa Prefecture from the middle of the Meiji era to the early Showa era.

"Early Spring Oedo Nihonbashi Antenna Shop stamp rally" is another week.

1. February 23, 2017 09:00

Last fall, a product hit at stamp rally Antenna Shop in Chuo-ku, and challenged the Nihonbashi version with "Dream again." I came here right away. It starts at 13 o'clock. First of all, go to Toyama-kan at the base of Nihonbashi.

100_2257.JPG 100_2265.JPG

I purchased 750 yen of zodiac rooster made of Gokayama Japanese paper, 300 yen of mini hina hare, and 343 yen of trendy amazake. Next, we headed to Nara Mahoroba-kan.

100_2258.JPG 100_2267.JPG

Here is Kinako Cream Daifuku 226 yen x 2, okara 160 yen.

The third one that bothered me was the Nihonbashi Shimanekan.

100_2259.JPG

In front of "Mie Terrace", a sister called "Today February 22 is Ninninja, Ninja Day" was invited by a sister called "Iga Hojicha" and tasted it delicious, so this is also 300 yen.

100_2260.JPG 100_2266.JPG

I decided to have a late lunch at the next restaurant. I've always wanted to look into it once, but it's the first time I don't have a chance. Seasonal local oyster gratin, risotto, and raw oysters are attractive. I got lost and decided to make it "Matsusaka Italian". This is a set of "meat sauce using Matsuzaka beef" and is 1800 yen with soup, salad and small bowl.

100_2261.JPG 100_2262.JPG

Because it faces Chuo-dori, people passing through the menu and the inside of the store. The table, which had been two sets, was almost full. From 14:30, there was "Ise Udon" at Cafe Time in addition to "Dolce and Drinks". It's nice for those who missed lunch.

After a break, go to Nihonbashi Fukushimakan. "San Fuji of 500 yen with 6 pieces" was attractive, but I gave up because it was bulky and heavy. I'm sorry to receive only the stamp.

The last is Nihonbashi Nagasakikan.

100_2268.JPG 100_2269.JPG

"There is a reason Maruburo" 378 yen and get it right away. Nagasakikan is the first anniversary of opening in March, and there is an event every day from March 1 to 10. Please take a look. 15 o'clock. Oh, I forgot my coffee!

There are many shops with restaurants, so it is recommended to take a walk + lunch to see Nihonbashi Burari.

In the Nihonbashi area, antenna shops continued to open, making it the second largest number of shops after the Ginza area.

If you collect stamps from 6 stores and apply, you will win luxurious prizes.

1st prize 6 prefecture specialty product set 6 people equivalent to 12,000 yen

2nd prize 6 prefecture special product set 12 people equivalent to 6,000 yen

3rd prize Each prefecture special product set 30 people equivalent to 1,000 yen

That's right. The application deadline is February 28. Please hurry.

sawatte03.JPG

The venue was on the second floor of the Nara Mahorobakan, and the lecturer was Toshiyuki Kitai, the chief curator of the Nara Prefectural Kashihara Archaeological Research Institute Museum.

sawatte04.JPG

This is a special display "Working and Experience Archeology!" Held at the Nara Prefectural Kashihara Archeology Institute Museum In conjunction with "Yamato Warrior - Kofun period's Weapons and Armours", a panel exhibition introducing this exhibition is also being held at the Nara Mahoroba Hall, where Mr. Kitai, who was in charge of planning this special display, will explain the highlights of this exhibition and talk about behind-the-scenes stories from planning to holding the exhibition.

sawatte05.JPG

It took about an hour and a half, but various things, such as the difficulties and ingenuity of conducting an exhibition where replicas of the exhibits and the exhibits, and the impressions of the blind who experienced the "Saru Exhibition" I was impressed to hear the story.

For healthy people, I thought the opportunity to be exhibited at the museum was valuable and a wonderful attempt.

sawatte06.JPG

By the way, on the first floor of the Nara Mahorobakan, a panel display of "Yamato Jizo Jufuku Sacred Ground Tour" is being held.

"Yamato Jizo Jufuku" means that Fukutoku is awarded by visiting the guardian of children and travelers of Jukaji Temple, where the attractive Jizo Bodhisattva in Nara Prefecture is enshrined.

There is a Senshafuroshiki goods @ 37-cho, Chuo-ku

[Nanako Tsukishima] February 21, 2017 14:00

Saturday, February 18 was the ninth Chuo-ku sightseeing test. I'm looking forward to the results.

By the way, this time, from the privilege of those who passed the sightseeing certification "Chuo-ku original Senshafuroshiki".

As you know, this furoshiki is studded with "Sensha bills depicting all the town names of 37 towns in Chuo-ku and patterns related to the place". There are three colors: red, black, and Edo-purple.
Furoshiki is now very popular as an important item of "Cool JAPAN", which is multifunctional with a single piece of cloth, and there are many ways to use it. So I'm very happy to receive it.

After I got this Senshafuroshiki, I changed from the one I used to "wrapping" to a "watching" one.
There are also bills that are obvious at a glance like Tsukishima's Monjayaki Shop Japanese shop curtain, but Nihonbashikobunacho's bills that depict "dansen" associated with a fan wholesaler are very tasteful. The Y-shirts and ties from Nihonbashi Yokoyama-cho are also interesting.

Such Senshafuroshiki has become the "wall hanging" of my home, and colors the Japanese-style room side by side with the woodcut amount of Hasui Kawase.

I have become a fan of Sensha bills, but the other day, I found a new Sensha bills Furoshiki goods at the Chuo-ku Tourist Information Center in Kyobashi Edgran, and I was more and more excited.
Book covers, paperback covers, smartphone covers, etc. are all three colors, red, black, and Edo purple, just like furoshiki.

This time, I purchased the "Edo Town Greeting Card" of "Kachidoki" in the photo.
Why don't you look for your favorite Senshafuroshiki goods and draw the name of the town in Chuo-ku?
