Japan has a reputation worldwide for its good security. It is said that the existence of "KOBAN", which has been nurtured over a long history and has now become an international language, is also great. There are various police boxes in the police box, such as those that stand out in the city, and conversely those that are built to blend into parks and surrounding landscapes and buildings. It's also interesting to take a closer look at the police boxes around the city.
This time, I would like to introduce a "police box" within the jurisdiction of the Tsukiji Police Station.
<Sukiyabashi police box> <Ginza 4-chome police box> <Ginza 1-chome police box>
<Sukiyabashi police box>
It was built as part of the Tokyo Metropolitan Cultural Design Project.
On the pointed roof, the outer wall is made of bricks inspired by Ginza Brick Street in Meiji period. At the time of the design presentation, there is an anecdote that the design model on the roof was not in time, and when the gusset needle was temporarily suspended and proposed, it was adopted as it was.
The word "KOUBAN", which has now become an international language, is on the front.
<Ginza 4-chome police box>
It was built as part of the Tokyo Metropolitan Cultural Design Project.
With a mirror-like exterior designed with space constraints, the cityscape of Ginza is reflected on the wall and blended into the surroundings.
A safety frog was previously placed on the roof, but now it has been removed.
By the way, the police box is located in Ginza 5-chome.
<Ginza 1-chome police box>
It was built as part of the Tokyo Metropolitan Cultural Design Project.
A roof designed to resemble a cod jewel attached to the main pillar of Kyobashi when it was replaced in 1922, which was preserved opposite the road.
The exterior wall is made of bricks inspired by Ginza brick street in Meiji period.
It is called a round window and a good eaves, and has a rounded appearance with corners.
<Ginza 8-chome police box> <Miharabashi Regional Safety Center> <Tsukiji Market Police Box>
<Ginza 8-chome police box>
The area around 8-chome used to be called Shimbashi Hanamachi.
At present, there are high-class clubs. There are also many galleries and galleries in the neighborhood.
It is called the color of the building, the shape, and the appearance is assimilated around.
Place a landmark (signboard) for the placement of women police officers.
<Miharabashi Community Safety Center>
It has a metallic cylindrical appearance.
A large four-story building.
When viewed from the side, it looks like a space shuttle launch pad.
Since April 1, 2007, it has been operated as a "Local Safety Center".
<Central Market Police Box>
Located in Masakadowaki, Tokyo Central Wholesale Market (Tsukiji Market), the kitchen of Tokyo residents.
The roof seemed to resemble a police officer's hat.
24h. It plays a role in supporting the safe living of local people in the sleepless block.
In addition, the police box has a landmark (signboard) that enhances visibility so that the place stands out even from a distance, and makes the design familiar to the police box.
There are three types of landmarks.
① ② ③
①Main stations, sightseeing spots, major facilities where many people gather, police boxes near major roads, etc.
②Police boxes near residential areas, shopping streets, kindergartens, schools, etc.
③Police box where female police officers are located
