Chuo-ku (Part 2) Enjoyed in Literature

[Nojinya] 09:00 on December 2, 2014

In the daytime, you can enjoy the warm sunshine, but the season is completely winter. When the sun went down, it was a season when you could catch a cold unless you go out with a warm look. Today, I would like to talk about literary works related to Chuo-ku as a recommendation for such a season. In June of this year, on the Chuo-ku sightseeing blog, we talked about Seicho Matsumoto's "Mujukujinbetsu Book" (Bunshun Bunko), set in the Ishikawajimajin Ashoba (/archive / author /ck1401 /), introduced as the second installment. It is Shugoro Yamamoto's "Sabu" (Shincho Bunko).sabu.png

"In the evening when the light rain burst like a haze, the bust crossed Ryogoku Bridge from west to east, crying. On a twin-striped kimono, a thin corner belt of Kokura, a faded black front hanging, and wet from my head." The story that begins with the lonely appearance of Sabu, which is also the title of the book, goes with Sabu to Eiji, who works at Omogiya Yoshikodo in Nihonbashikobunacho. In the same age, the two who started serving together at the age of 12 were 20 years old, they were able to work well, and Eiji, who was in front of a man, was busy every day with the work of money exchange merchant cotton in Honmachi. I was sending, but one day suddenly my master gives my time. Eiji, who was suspected of being the culprit of the theft that occurred in cotton sentences, tried to clear the innocence, but he ate the front payment from the cotton sentence and, as a result, was put into the prison of Kitamachi magistrate . Eiji, who was desperate for the preparation from his trusted customer and master, closed his mouth at all for the interrogation and did not talk about his address or occupation, so he was considered an innocence person and was sent to the Ishikawajima folk vaudeville. I will. "This place does not consider the detainee as a sinner, those who have a job in their hands can swell in their jobs, and those who do not have a job can find their favorite job. They are paid for those tasks, and they will be the source of proper work when they come to the world." Eiji, who has not heard the explanation of the concentric of the venue, has also grown through various incidents that occur at the venue, fights, storm surges caused by typhoons, exchanges with officials and other detainees, and friendships of old knowledge who visit visits You. "The three years of the visit at the place have been more useful than 10 years in Shaba." After spending more than 200 pages in the visit, Eiji leaves the island and welcomes a happy ending, reveals the mystery of the theft, but let's make it fun to read.

Nowadays, high-rise apartments in Okawabata River City are lined up, and it is a place for people who leave a slight remnant at the monument of Ishikawajima Lighthouse in Tsukuda Park, but "Sabu" takes us to Nihonbashi and Ishikawajima in the Edo period . Why don't you travel around the town of Edo at Shugoro Yamamoto World while warming hot on a cold night?

Participation report of Chuo-ku Cultural and International Exchange Promotion Association "Gathering of International Exchange 2014"

[Silver] 17:00 on December 1, 2014

"Gathering of International Exchange 2014" hosted by the Chuo-ku Cultural and International Exchange Promotion Association was held on November 15 at Tsukiji Social Education Center.

I've been participating for four consecutive years, so I couldn't wait for this day again.

I finished the reception on the first floor and went around from the fourth floor.

On the 4th floor, they served warm kenchin soup. I asked the sister in charge about the origin of the naming of "Kenchin soup".

It was said that it was cooked as buddhist cuisine at Kenchoji Temple in Kamakura. I wondered if it was named Kenchin Juice because the juice was hot (quente) from Portugal or Spain.

The warm feelings of the volunteers were added, and it was very delicious. Dutch cuisine, bittervalen, a croquette like a croquette, was also served with specialty cheese.

Here, you can enjoy delicious tea every year. On this day, we also had an elegant Sri Lankan milk tea.

In another room on the same 4th floor, a booth at the “Disaster Prevention Corner” is exhibited every year to raise awareness of disaster prevention.

I also experienced emergency food during the disaster. This year we had potage soup, but the texture of the potato remained and it was delicious.

There were also maps and manuals of the disaster evacuation site in Chuo-ku. You have to remember evacuation site in case of emergency.

On the third floor, there were dressing, ikebana experience, tea ceremony and tea ceremony experience, origami, furoshiki experience, and ink painting experience.

On the second floor, we enjoyed the introduction corner of Dutch culture, playing in Japan and playing abroad.

If you think about it, the relationship between the Netherlands, Japan, and Chuo-ku began with the Leafde. The names of the crew members Jan Jooss Ten and William Adams remain under the name of Yaesu and are recorded as Anjincho.

Siebold's book at hand, translated by Saito, and published by Heibonsha's "Edo Sanfu Noriyuki" also have a detailed record of the trip to Nagasakiya. Siebold (German) stayed at Nagasakiya in Nihonbashi, right? At present, there is a bust in Akatsuki Park in honor of his achievements. I was interested in Dutch games and pottery from Delft.

In the dance hall, a street performance by a Dutchman.

We danced Bon Odori and Soueden folk dance. Mayor Yada also jumped in and participated in folk dance.

In the music room on the first floor, I could not only listen to and hear wadaiko's performances, but also actually play drums.

After all, let's experience everything and enjoy it.

International exchange starts with knowing, understanding and respecting foreign cultures. I was happy to have a new friend today.

The Chuo-ku Cultural and International Exchange Promotion Association holds some fun events every month.

Winning the Tokyo Marathon

[Ryokichi] 09:00 on December 1, 2014

After receiving the lottery for the Tokyo Marathon 2015, I decided to run in the gorgeous city of Chuo-ku on February 22.

Well, I'm ready. I will practice a lot from now on! But before that, I wished. I wish you good luck.

Where shall I go? There was something I could think of.

Daikanonji Temple in Ningyocho. This temple is enshrined with a cast iron bodhisattva head that was originally located at Kannondo of Shin Kiyomizu-dera Temple in Kamakura.

The Kannondo was destroyed by fire during the Kamakura period, but later the head was dug out and laid here as main deity.

Among such a venerable temple, Skanda is enshrined separately.

Upon examination, the Buddha god of Tenbe, who is one of the eight generals of Masuchoten and is the leader of the thirty-two generals. It is said that he was able to make a quick comparison because he chased and regained the demon that took away the Buddhist shalt. There is also a story that Skanda came to be a treat because he ran around for Historical Buddha and collected food.

I wanted to be the god of running, so in Ningyocho, near the course of the Tokyo Marathon, I joined my hands with Idaten.
