Chuo-ku as seen in the work directed by Yoshio Naruse

[CAM] May 14, 2015 09:00

One of the pleasures of watching old Japanese movies is that you will be able to re-experience not only the content itself, but also the scenes of the old days reflected in it, life at that time, conversation, etc. Many of the works by Yoshio Naruse, who prefer women, especially women who live autonomously in mizusho sales, feature scenes of Chuo-ku.

Some of the silent works before the war, "Dream every night" (released in 1933), featuring a woman working in a tavern as the main character. Because it was shot on Tsukuda Island, you can see the scenery of Tsukuda Island at that time.

In addition, a work depicting a woman working in a bar in Ginza is "Ginza Makeup" (released in 1951). The main character played by Kinuyo Tanaka is that it is rented on the second floor of Shimotaya in an alley in the old-fashioned townscape of Shintomi-cho, which was still a water town where the Tsukiji River flows. In the theater program, Director Naruse wrote, "Shintomi-cho is a town that retains the old Edo atmosphere that makes you want to tilt your neck if there were such places in the city." . In 1951, Japan was still under occupation. There is a scene where Kinuyo Tanaka walks near Horikawa in Sanjuma, but the river is being reclaimed with rubble that came out during the air raid. There is still a little rubble on the side of the road. And Kinuyo Tanaka in this movie is in a kimono from beginning to end.

Since the age setting of "When a woman climbs the stairs" (published in 1960) was in the mid-1960s, Japan began to transform from post-war reconstruction to an era of high growth. At that time, "bars" were about to reach their heyday. The title "Woman" played by Hideko Takamine is a 30-year-old widow who lost his husband in a traffic accident, and is hired at a bar in Ginza to play Madame, but his parents' home is Tsukuda Island. In the scene where a sick "woman" recuperates at his parents' home, the houses of Tsukuda, the scenery of Tsukuda's ferryboat, and the Torii of Sumiyoshi-jinja Shirine appear. Director Naruse attended Kogakuin University in Tsukiji when he was a teenager, so he seems to have a special feeling in the vicinity of the Tsukiji River, but the Tsukiji River comes out in this work.

One of the works in which the Tsukiji River appears is "Aki Tachinu", which was released in 1960. The two children are the protagonists, but there is a ryokan where the mother works along the Tsukiji River. There is also a scene where they go to a department store in Ginza or go to Harumi Wharf through Kachidokibashi.

(These works can be seen in the You tube.)

Until the Showa 30s, good old scenes and society, which have disappeared completely from high growth through the bubble economy period, still remained. If you look at Naruse's work, you can feel that's true.

Daikabuki begins in May of Dangiku Festival

1. May 13, 2015 14:00

It seems that there are many people who work in earnest from today after the GW is over, and the city seems to have returned to the usual situation.

On a sunny evening in May, I went to Kabukiza Theater.

100_1762.JPG100_1763.JPG

The Dangiku Festival has begun. The evening section is from "Keiyasu Taiheiki" to "Chuya Marubashi", Kabuki 18th "Snayanagi", and "Kami Akie Wago Initiative" (megumi's fight).

As you all know, the Dangiku Festival is held in honor of the achievements of the fifth generation Kikugoro and the ninth generation Danjuro, and has been held every May since it revived in 1977. An elderly woman who was photographed in front of the two statues in the first floor lobby of Kabukiza Theater, said, "I'd better be in front of Kikugoro," and it's pretty cute to see each other.

100_1764.JPG100_1765.JPG

I was checking while listening to the name line of Mr. Matsu Midori of Chuya Marubashi, "Sango here, Kashiko Gogo ...", but the numbers do not match! The appearance of being surrounded by the way of catching using the doorboard is also amazing. Ryuishi Matsu Midori, young. "Janeyanagi" is said to have been premiered by Danjuro, the fourth generation of Kabuki 18th, but it is a performance that is rarely performed in Kabuki 18th. This is the first performance in Kabukiza since Ebizo revived in a voluntary performance two years ago. The last "Megumi's fight" is familiar, but it is a spectacular word that each of the 40 Tobi and sumo wrestlers rampage narrowly. The large rise of jumping on the roof without a ladder or turning the dragonfly from the roof is harassed. This is the fun of Kabuki. There is no doubt that it will be shy.

In the intermission, I found a new product only in May. I always asked, "Do you have anything this month?", So I told me, "Yes." It's "Ooka in the middle of making it." It is a product in connection with the lunch performance "Ooka Masadan", but this confectionery shop is located where the Ooka family residence in Akasaka was located. It seems to be "handmade" because it is a type that puts bean paste on the skin when you have it. 3 pieces are 650 yenya. Since lunch is the last week, I decided to have it first.

Danjuro has died, but it is a gorgeous, lively and luxurious stage performed by the Ichikawa family Ichimon Sogo and Otowaya Ichimon Sogo. It is also recommended for those who are watching Kabuki for the first time because it is easy to understand.

Ginza Restaurant Week ★Ginza jaggiolo

[Mapo ★] May 13, 2015 09:00

Ginza Restaurant Week was held again this year.

The first thing I went to was an Italian restaurant called Ginza Jagjoro.

It's located in B1 of Duplex Ginza Tower on 7th Street.

Of Santa Maria Novella, the world's oldest pharmacy in Florence
It is a ristorante based on the idea of natural healing and preventive medicine.
                        Excerpt from Jagjoro HP

You can eat lunch at Ginza Restaurant Week for 3240 yen (including tax).

4 dishes of appetizer, pasta, main and dessert

The appetizer is a herb salad of 15 items, which is also a signboard menu of Jagjoro.
There was one topping for free from 4 types, so I chose salmon.

KIMG0228.JPG KIMG0229.JPG

I don't like herbs very much because it's so much.
It was hard to eat up (laughs).
But it's very kind to the body.

And the pasta is "You can choose two types of pasta if you share it with everyone."

I went there, so I made the cherry shrimp Arioriorioo and homemade potato gnocchi.
I'm glad I could eat two kinds little by little.

KIMG0230.JPG KIMG0233.JPG

And the main one is the roast of mochi pork
It was literally delicious as mochi (*^^*)

Dolce was hot on this day, so I made it gelato.
Chocolate and pistatio★

The drink was served as a cafe latte and it was a very satisfying lunch.

KIMG0234.JPG KIMG0235.JPG

Actually, my original Koshu wine was on this day.
It was at the peak of drinking, so I brought it in. (3,000 yen carry-on fee)

It goes well with fish, but it goes well with pork.
It was a refreshing Italian, so it was perfect for every dish.

KIMG0237.JPG KIMG0238.JPG

By the way, Santa Maria Novela is also located in Ginza.
I'm going to see you soon.

Monuments of Soseki and Nihonbashi

[Dimini ☆ Cricket] May 13, 2015 09:00

Nihonbashi often appears in the works of Meiji literary writer Soseki Natsume. For this reason, stone monuments are built in places that are particularly closely related (red point on the map below).

sohsek5.jpg

On the roof () of Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Store in 1-chome Nihonbashi Muromachi, there is a monument (A) of "Echigoya in Soseki".

Soseki's works, including "Sanshiro", often commemorate the appearance of "Echigo-ya (Mitsukoshi) kimono shop".

sohsek1.JPG

At Nihonbashi 1-6 (Southeast of Colled Nihonbashi Annex Square), there is a monument (B) of "The Stage of Soseki Masterpieces".

There was a vaudeville “Kihara-tei” (Kihara-dori) that appeared in “Sanshiro” and “Kokoro”.

sohsek3.JPG

At Nihonbashi Nakashu 5 (next to the apartment near Nishizume Kiyosubashi), there is a monument (C) of "The site of the place where Soseki" Cat "performance is performed".

"I am a cat", which was staged for the first time in Soseki's work, was performed at Masagoza.

sohsek4.JPG

In addition, there is no monument, but Shirakiya comes out such as "I am a cat", and Maruzen appears in "I am a cat" as well.

Shirakiya is currently choledo Nihonbashi (1-4-1 Nihonbashi), and Maruzen is 2-3-10 Nihonbashi.

A little bit "there" picnic?

[I want to see] May 12, 2015 18:00

Exit 12 of Kayabacho Station.

Walk to the right with the yellow sign in the direction of Hatchobori.

When you see the fire department, you will find Sakamotocho Park (from 1889) next to it.

"Sakamotocho Park" is said to have been opened in 1889 (1889) as a pioneer in a small urban park.

Spring is full of cherry blossom viewing, and now we are greeted by greenery.

"Ara, Neko-chan Connicihua" "Is it the main crane?" What a cat

Eat lunch on a bench ...

It's an oasis in the neighborhood where you can feel like a picnic.

<Machikado Exhibition Hall (Exhibition of portable shrine and floats)> There's also something.

By the way, the adjacent Sakamoto Elementary School is "1.1.1.1." Do you know that?

It was in 1873 (1873).

Founded as the first government elementary school Sakamoto school in the first junior high school district in the first university district.

In the Genesis of Public Schools, "1.1.1." It seems that it is the "first school" with the title.

There is a fire department next to the park, and at some times, there are times

When the fire department people go to work bravely, I realize that "Ah, I'm protected."

We would like to cooperate as much as possible.

Take the road, emergency vehicles are the top priority! after you
