Isn't it cold even though spring?

Angel Statue of Tensho Domae

Why? I have an angel. (Tenshodo) It seems to be because it deals with word matching with Tenshodo and bridal jewelry.

He has a role and is to shoot the arrow of love to a couple coming from the street. A shot couple may be happy.

Why don't you see the face of "Cupid" while shopping in Ginza? It's a pretty good look.

This is one of the masterpieces of sculptor Asahiko Yamada.

Oh~ Is there Inari Shrine in Ginza 4-chome?

[Shubo's Ten Hands] April 21, 2017 12:00

DSC_1898 ginnzakochizu.jpg

This is a map issued in 1861 (1861). There is Hodo Inari Shrine in this area since the Edo period.

You can see Yazaemon-cho in the place of the arrow. It's around the current Namiki-dori St. It is a shrine that was enshrined in Edo Castle to protect the growth of the successor of the Shogun family during the Edo period when the Inari religion was thriving. It is said that Yazaemon, the guardian of the temple, was built in response to the deity of divine spirit.

DSCN0684.JPG
In addition, Yazaemon placed his residence here and served as a talisman for Inari throughout his life. Therefore, it came to be called Yazaemon-cho.

Hodo Inari Shrine is still gaining a strong religion as a shrine that gives good luck in prayer for child treasures and thriving business.

Why don't you visit the shop in Ginza?

It's Hodo Inari Shrine.

The file Omikuji is elaborate. It's a souvenir.

Of course, it can be used as a file.

It's a very hard-to-understand place.

Turn left at Harumi-dori St. toward Tsukiji, turn left at the Ginza Tensho Domae angel and turn left at about 50 meters.

It seems that they have gone somewhere in spring with the peanuts. Now, 26 degrees, there are some short-sleeved people, and Ginza is already early summer. Before the grand opening of GINZA 6 on the 20th tomorrow, you can see a signboard that is conscious of 4-chome.

100_2344.JPG 100_2350.JPG

100_2352.JPGFrom today, Dick Bruna's design exhibition has started in Matsuya Ginza. Speaking of Bruna, I have a strong impression of a picture book writer known for Miffy, but this is the first time I have worked on more than 2,000 book designs and posters as an exclusive graphic designer at Bruna. Among the 200 paperback designs on display include familiar mystery writers such as G. Simenon's Megreg series, I Framing, L. Block, and A. Moravia. Looking at the display side by side, the refreshing feeling of color and design is wonderful.

It's a very simple and stylish cover design that makes you want to pick it up. In addition, new works by artists who are active in the Japanese design world under the theme of "simple tomorrow" are also exhibited.

100_2347.JPG 100_2348.JPG

In the next event space, an exhibition of the "Kuma no School" series celebrating its 15th anniversary is also being held at the same time. Today was a great line with the signing session of the artist and the painter being held at the first day event.

"Simple identity" exhibition "Kuma no Gakuko" will be held until May 8th.

Matsuya Ginza 8th floor Event Square From 10:00 to 20:00 on the last day closes at 17:00 pm

Minatoya Esoshi Paper Store Nihonbashihamacho Store

[Silver] April 21, 2017 09:00

I got off at Hamacho Station on the Toei Shinjuku Line, and I'm looking for it today.

I visited "Yumeji Takehisa Special Gallery Minatoya Ekusa Paper Store".

DSC04975.JPG

When you open the glass door, you will hear a quiet voice and say "Welcome." It's a calm and elegant voice of Kyoto language. Mr. Takako Ohira, my wife, responded.

Does the shop have a connection with Yumeji Takehisa? I asked, but my husband was a big fan of Yumeji Takehisa and started this shop.

Here in Hamacho, it has been more than 20 years since the store opened.

With permission, I photographed Yumeji's work in the store. The original color printing work is very nice. Indeed, it's a Taisho Roman.

DSC04976.JPG

Small items such as postcards are also sold, and it is also friendly to your wallet.

DSC04977.JPG

It is said that a calendar of Yumeji works is released every year.

This time, it's not Yumeji's work, but I bought "Gauze Muffler".

It is similar to the pattern of a kimono that looks like a woman in the picture is wearing. How about "Gauze Muffler" that is gentle to your skin?

DSC05011.JPG

The introduction of the shop can also be found in the monthly Nihonbashi, January 2017 issue, and the Free Paper Nihonbashi Goyomi April issue.

The address of the shop is 2-18-5, Nihonbashi-Hamacho, Chuo-ku, Tokyo (Meijiza-mae), telephone 03-5640-5978.

[Dimini ☆ Cricket] April 20, 2017 18:00

Yukino Iwatsuki's new solo exhibition "Miru 2017" is being held in the project room inside the Megumi Ogita Gallery, located on the first basement floor of the Ginza Otsuka Building, Ginza 2-chome.

iwatsu001.JPG

The period is from Tuesday, April 18 to 28 (Friday).

Opening hours are from 11:00 to 19:00 and are closed on Sunday, Monday and public holidays.

iwatsu000.jpg

From the room of the Japanese-style room, you can see the garden through the porch. The fresh green garden is beautiful, and light from the outside shines softly through the shoji door.

It's a casual Japanese landscape, but you can feel the coolness of the place and the breeze from the garden.

iwatsu002.JPG

In addition, there are works that make you feel fresh, such as works depicting green forests, glasses placed in fresh greenery, tableware, etc.

iwatsu005.JPG

There is also a work where a wide sea spreads out at the end of the road, and you can feel sunlight and sea breeze.

It is a group of works where the wind flows in a quiet landscape and drifts even a subtle feeling.

iwatsu004.JPG

Mr. Iwatsuki's solo exhibition at this gallery is the first time in about a year and a half.

iwatsu006.JPG

Mr. Iwatsuki has consistently published his work on the theme of "seeing" and expresses the universal beauty of everyday that appears with a sincere glance.

iwatsu007.JPG

The cherry blossoms are over, and the fresh green season is coming.

Please enjoy fresh greenery a little earlier at this exhibition, which will be held at the best time.

iwatsu009.JPG

In addition, we received special consent for photography in the gallery, and explained each work. Thank you very much

Nara Saidaiji Temple Exhibition

[Marsha Horiuchi of Edo] April 20, 2017 14:00

For the author who was born in Osaka, Japan's history is the capital of Heian-kyo (794) in Kyoto.
I think that the "Nara, Saidaiji Temple Exhibition" at the Mitsui Memorial Museum reminded me of the fact that there were capitals in Heijo-kyo and Nara before that.

In the late Nara period, Saidaiji Temple was built relative to the world-famous Todaiji Temple in the Great Buddha, and after the rise and fall of the times, in the middle of the Kamakura period, a high priest named Eison had the philosophy of "Koho Toshisei" and focused on medical welfare along with Buddhist law and tried to rescue the people.

The Ochamori ceremony, which is held every year in Saidaiji Temple in April and October, seems to be a sign of "sharing hard happiness with everyone", which is often forgotten.

There are many Buddha statues, metal Esoteric Buddhism tools, sutras and Buddhist paintings in gallery space.
All of them are elaborate, and as always, they are surprised that they were made around 1,000 years ago.
In particular, Eison (Kosei Bodhisattva) seated statue feels like he is still living in a temple somewhere (a 90-year-old large birth), and the gentle gaze of the statue of Manjushri, the anger of Aizen Myo, and the rage of seated statue (judicating the messenger in the underworld) are conveyed.

At the Mitsui Museum of Art, you may be able to do the meditation for a while, the mindset necessary for a busy modern age.

It will be held until June 11th.
