Earlier, I mentioned that there was no English explanation on the explanation board in the neighborhood of Ningyocho, but it seems that a considerable number of explanation boards in the ward have changed to English notation. For example, those installed at Harumi's "Japan World Exposition Secretariat Building Remains" and Tsukuda's "Sea House Remains".

The "Shikaikan Ruins" explanation board is displayed as March 2009 (2009), so it was installed more than 8 years ago. (It was clear that the photos listed in the "Citizens' Historic Site" section of "Monoshiri Encyclopedia" were taken when they were not written in English, but the latest published in October 2017 In the edition, it seems that it was finally replaced with the latest photo.)

When explaining in English, for example, if you say that most of Chuo-ku is a landfill (reclaimed land), this may contain multiple Rs and L, so it can be understood only by verbally. I feel unrecognized. For example, according to the dictionary, "reclaim" is used to reclaim the sea and "fill up" is used to reclaim ponds and rivers, so it can be mistranslations.

In order to avoid misunderstandings, I think it would be better to have a pattern of verbally speaking the main points while giving explanations in English instead of verbally communicating.

In a certain Asian country, the driver flies too much, so when I said "Safety First", I was turned around with a shaky expression and I was about to shout, "Isn't it dangerous!" When I thought later, the phrase "Safety First" was Japanese English, and it seemed that I heard "First" as "Fast" (fast). If you say "Safety Fast", it's natural to be surprised.

In that way, there is an unexpected misunderstanding just by verbally. Including such meaning, the explanation board in the ward should be changed to one that is written in English as soon as possible.

Harumi Triton Plaza 2F "Ai Green Pocket Plaza Flower, Water, Tree" is an annual mini-garden guided tour to stroll through the park with the guidance of an exclusive gardener.

This month was held on October 13th.

In the "Flower Garden", the bright red-purple Nobutton family "Nobutton" Cote D'Azur "" and the purple glossy large flower "Siconnobutton" attract attention.

The nobutton has a short stamen yellow, a long stamen is purple, and the seconnobutton has both long and short stamens.

The remnant Shirobanahagi, the pretty pale purple flowers of ancestor cyclamen "Hedelifolium" and the colony of grayheaded cuckoo are also impressive.

Purple-based "Murasakixikib", "Carostboku" Perpleia "", "amethyst sage", "Seiyo ginboku", etc. are also colorful.

The conical spikes are sweet, fragrant, mauve, white and red varieties, but the black purple "black night" is unique.

The park was a plant walk with the impression that the signs of autumn became even deeper, with deciduous tree starting to change color, led by Natsuta, and shicent oysters and Himeringo growing fruit.

From the left, "Hedelifolium", "Pearple", "Black Night", amethyst Sage. Squirrel

There are not only castellas but also civilization hall-hayashi~

[Mido] October 15, 2017 09:00

Speaking of civilization halls, castella No. 1 and telephones are often associated with snacks at No. 2 and 3 o'clock, but in fact, it is not just castella. The "Civilizationdo Cafe" is set up in the Nihonbashi Main Store of Bunmeido, where you can enjoy lunch and dinner. The inside of the store is spacious and you can relax. In the background music, slow ballad jazz was flowing comfortably. And there is also a terrace, so I think it's a good idea to relax on the terrace seats in this season in search of a sense of openness.

The lunch menu (5 types) comes with salads and drinks for about 1000 yen, so it can be said that it is reasonable. All of them are delicious, but the most popular is "milf-boiled egg Hayashi rice", which is modest in sweetness and is seasoned for adults. It's no exaggeration to say that beef and onions, which are likely to melt in black sauce, and the texture of semi-boiled eggs perfectly match, and it's no longer an exaggeration to say that it's artistic. It has a slightly rich taste, but it is not persistent and completes the meal. Indians are surprised not only at Castella but also at the Café in Civilization Hall, "There are palms too!" (I may not be able to communicate unless you are over 50 years old ... lol)

And under the drink I ordered, there was a coaster of that nostalgic commercial, Koguma Dance (Civilizeddo Mame Theater). Just looking at this, it seems that you can hear "Hell Orphe (Japanese title "Heaven and Hell")" in your head. Close to Mitsukoshimae Station, when you come to your neighborhood, why not have lunch at "Bikudo Cafe"?

The sale of Danjuro Ichikawa

[yaz] October 14, 2017 16:00

What is "Gairo"? In the Kanto region, Odawara's "Uiro" is historically known, but it is still vague, such as "food like Yokan" or "the name of any medicine?" . That should be the case, and Odawara's Gairoke continues to make sweets and medicines with the same name for generations. Gairo was the product name and the last name. In Tokasha 19's "Tokaido Naka-Kurige", there is a scene where Yajikita mistakenly eats the outside of the medicine as the outside of the confectionery and eats it with a bitter face. This gairo is the gairo of Odawara. "Is Gairo a confectionery or a mysterious medicine?"

If you are a Kabuki fan, you will hear that you are Toro, and one of Danjuro Ichikawa's 18th Kabuki, "Torouri", will come to your head first. This is the gairo of medicine, a specialty of Odawara in Sagami (Kanagawa Prefecture). In the Edo period, it was the Kabuki performance "Torouri" that made this medicine known to the world. When Danjuro Ichikawa, the second generation, was unable to speak well due to cough and sputum disease, and was in trouble because he couldn't stand on the stage, he took the groom and was completely relieved and returned to the stage again. It is said that he was able to do it. In order to inform people of such good medicines, with the consent of the Toro family, Danjuro's self-made `` Torouri '' was completed, and in 1718 (1718), Morita-za in Kibiki-cho (Ginza, Chuo-ku, near the back of Kabukiza) premiered. Was. This performance was hit hard, and later Danjuro, the seventh generation, was named "Kabuki 18th". The mouth of Gairo sales is equivalent to modern commercials.

"Gairo," But what is still famous is on its mouth. It is a series of fast-talking words that can be spoken smoothly because it has cured cough and sputum diseases. I would like to introduce some of them.

『...Armor harnesses Bugubagu, 3 Bugubagu, 6 Bugubagu, 6 Bugubagu. Chrysanthemum chestnut kukukukuri, and chrysanthemum kukukuri. Wheat garbage mugi garbage 3mugi garbage, combined with mugi garbage 6mugi garbage. Who is the Naganaginata of that Nageshi?...』。 That's why it's a dialogue that everyone has heard somewhere. The mouth of Toro sales is now used as a teaching material for vocal practice at training centers for actors, talents, and announcers.

Drug advertising png The exterior of the head office of the eight-story "Uiro"

The residence of the Goro Honke in Odawara. It's a good idea.

Why do you write "Gairo" and read "Uiro"? One of the ancestors of the Toro family was Chinen Yu, who had a government office called "Reibu Ingairo" in the original era of China. It is said that when the original was destroyed by the fire, he exiled to Hakata in Kyushu and claimed to be Uiro Chin. "Outside" was "Ui" in the sound of "Tang" which was the pronunciation of the original era, and can be said to be a natural process. This is the origin of "Uiro", and the name of the Chinese government has become the name of medicine and confectionery. Soki, the second generation of the Toro family, was invited to Kyoto by Yoshimitsu Ashikaga (the third general of the Muromachi Shogunate) to convey medicine from China (Mei) and devised confectionery for entertainment, It is said that he responded to the demands of the Imperial Court and samurai. The medicine was given by the Emperor of the time, "Tochinko", but since the Toro family made it, the medicine and confectionery were called Uiro in the streets. The fifth generation, Touemon, left his family business to his younger brother, and was invited to Odawara in the early 16th century by Soun Hojo, who boasted power in the Kanto region. The reason for this is unknown, but warload of the Warring States period and others may not have needed medicines such as the "gairo" that they can carry. The Toro family in Kyoto was cut off during the Tensho era (1573-1592), but the Toro family in Odawara remains and continues today. Many of the pastries of confectionery throughout the country were spread by craftsmen who served the gairo family in Kyoto.

The gairo of the medicine is a small, silver-colored round medicine. It is a popular medicine that cuts sputum and is said to be good for refreshing mouth and deodorizing, and seems to have been a universal medicine for people in the Edo period. Gairo, who resembles Morishita Jintan, is known as a specialty of Odawara-juku on the Tokaido, and many travelers bought it as a convenient way medicine. It is also popular as a souvenir, and it was a big hit during the Edo period, but in Edo it seems that it was bought at Taiwaya Kabei's store in Yokoyamacho, Ryogoku (now Nihonbashi Yokoyamacho, Chuo-ku). It was famous as a Toro stand in Edo, but unfortunately, there is no store in Yokoyamacho now.

You can watch the mouth of Danjuro's Gairo on Youtube, so please access the following URL and listen to it. Enjoy the smooth "mouth" judgement! I can't do it!

Kikunosuke's Newsaku Kabuki 2nd "Mahabharata Senki" Watching Record-Kabukiza Theater

1. October 14, 2017 14:00

100_2540.JPG 100_2539.JPG

Kikunosuke's second new Kabuki started in 2012 from that shocking "NINAGAWA Twelve Nights", when the audience of Kabukiza was swollen at the beginning. "Mahabharata" has only the knowledge of two major epics in India along with "Ramayana", so I was waiting a little anxious about what kind of stage it would be and whether I could understand it. When the curtain opens, Indian gods, like the introductory of Chushingura, raise their faces one by one according to Takemoto with board. The costumes of the gods such as Shiba, Brahma, and the sun god are also gorgeous. You don't have to worry about "it may be difficult" and you will be drawn into the stage in no time.

The rough line lets the gods share their mother in a conflicting human world, and the father sends out two brothers, Sun God and Sakra, to stop the conflict with the two people who embody "charity" and "power". Karuna, where the son of the sun god is full of compassion, and Taishakuten is an invincible child Aryuju Rai. Mercy or power will stop the battle Karona finally heads for the last battle with his enemy, Aryuju Rai, while being at the mercy of his mission. What's the difference?

From the long original, Karona-centered script was written by contemporary drama writer Go Aoki, and directed by Satoshi Miyagi. The main character "Karona" played by Kikunosuke, Matsuya's "Aryuju Rai" Unusually Shichinosuke plays the enemy role "Tsuru-like" princess. A luxurious caster with Kikugoro and left Danji for the gods.

This year marks the anniversary of the Japan-India Friendship Exchange Year, and it is a special project. I found "Original Masarachai" (8 packs 500 yen) at the stall. I'll have you immerse yourself in the lingering of the play.

100_2541.JPG

It was a hot summer day in October, but the audience also received the hot applause of the curtain call.

In the evening part, it is not overlooked that Tamasaburo plays Yodo-kun in the first role, such as "Kutatetori Kojo Chizuki", "Kanjin Korea Buntekan", and "Autumn Color Species". In the country, Nizaemon's `` Reigen Kame Yamahoko '', Shimbashi Enbujo was surprised by the injury of Sarunosuke, but `` One Piece '' played by Ukon and Kabuki fans are busy with fun wallets It is October.

Next spring, cherry blossom viewing of the Nihonbashi River at Ryukan Sakura Bridge!

[Shiba Inu] October 13, 2017 14:00

Currently under redevelopment, Otemachi 2-chome district.

A new bridge will be built in this area that crosses Chiyoda-ku and Chuo-ku across the Nihonbashi River! The name is "Ryukan Sakura Bridge". It is scheduled to open next spring. It's just about the cherry blossoms.

030011.jpg

I looked up at Ryukan Sakura Bridge from Nihonbashi River.

Crossing the bridge along with JR, it is a nice view for railway fans.

There was a moat called the Ryukangawa River at the southern road from the current Ryukanbashi intersection to the Higashi-Kamida 1 intersection, just at the border between Chuo-ku and Chiyoda-ku. It is an artificial waterway that has been reclaimed and dug several times from Edo to the postwar period, and has been completely reclaimed today in Heisei. However, traces and features of important diggings remain here and there, and the current intersection name also uses the name of the bridge that was built over the Ryukan River.

Due to this history, the word "Ryukan" was included in the name of this new bridge.

The location is between Tokyo Station and Kanda Station, near Shin-Tokiwa Bridge. As a result of this redevelopment, a skyscraper with commercial facilities and offices will be built....Rather, I am very much looking forward to creating a promenade and promenade on the banks of the Nihonbashi River where you can enjoy cherry blossoms. The gradual connection between Otemachi and Nihonbashi is expected to change the flow of people.

Next spring, I hope you will enjoy a walk around Nihonbashi in spring evening and Hanami.
