In the hot summer, the main festival once every three years that Ujiko from the Tsukuda and Tsukishima areas waited for. On the three major music festivals of Edo, Tsukuda Bayashi, six large banners were held, including the Lion Head Miyade and the highlight "Miya portable shrine Funa imperial procession".
The main festival (Reitaisai festival) was scheduled to be held last year in 2011, but this year has been extended by a year since the Great East Japan Earthquake. Due to the aging of the octagonal portable shrine produced in Tenpo 9 (1838), there was the first "with spirit" and "pilgrimage" of the second generation portable shrine Shingu, completed last year (2011).
A town block of Tsukuda 1-chome that preserves the original shape of Tsukuda Island during the Edo period. There is Sumiyoshi-jinja Shirine, and shrine parishioner at 1-chome is Miyamoto. The festival is prepared and operated by Sumiyoshi-ko, and Miya portable shrine, which travels around 1-chome, is carried by only members of Sumiyoshi-ko.
At the L-shaped Tsukuda moat at 1-chome, six large flags (approximately 18m in length) and a hug that supports the pole at the main festival are Tsukuda 1-chome town for preservation. It is buried under Kobashi, and it was dug up one month before the festival, and a large flag was set up one week before the main festival.
At the same time, the festival Japanese lantern of Sumiyoshi-jinja Shirine fell on the eaves of the town's houses, and the Kuroki Torii and Mataki were temporarily installed on the east and south sides of 1-chome. "Oriya", a reed making that houses the town portable shrine and the lion's head, is also built here and there, and the young people of Sumiyoshi Ko (Wakaishi), a large young people, and a caretaker in a yukata dressed in a new style for the festival. There is also a Kariya waiting for the festival, enlivening the atmosphere of the festival.
"The Lion Head's Palace,"
At 10:00 am on the 4th (Sat), it is said that grabbing the lion's head's nose will benefit, and a young Miyamoto (Wakaishi) will run at a high speed from the first gate on the Sumida River toward two lion heads waiting on the grounds. The lion head kneaded the precincts by young people and tried to go to the music stage of Kagura Hall. It was a magnificent lion head of a man.
"Ship imperial procession,"
In the past, it was said that the underwater imperial procession entered the Sumida River while carrying the Miya portable shrine, and a large portable shrine was carried into the sea by naked young people at the festival of Tsukuda Shima Sumiyoshi, one of the 100 best views of Edo in Hiroshige Utagawa. The underwater imperial procession was no longer held at its last festival in 1962.
In 1990, at the main festival, Miya portable shrine was changed to a boat imperial procession with a Goza boat, descending the Sumida River from Tsukuda, turning around Toyomicho on the southern tip of the landfill in the Tsukishima area, going up the Asashio Canal and turning around River City 21 to return to Tsukuda.
On the 5th, the boat imperial procession was carried by a young man by a young man to the Goza boat from the Sumida River terrace under the statue of the girl, Midori no Kaze, and at 7:00 a.m., the tugboat slowly pulls the Goza boat carrying Shinto priesthood and Miyaportable shrine. It's an impressive scene. A large audience came with applause.
After about an hour's boat imperial procession, the Goza boat appeared through Chuo-ohashi Bridge at 8:00 am, and applause came from the waiting audience.
When the ship arrives, another ship lays on the Goza boat, and the young people who ride it board the Goza boat, carrying Miya portable shrine. With a large crowd watching, portable shrine disembarked and the ship imperial procession finished safely.
The festival of Sumiyoshi-jinja Shirine, which has been continued since the Edo period. I would like you to convey the spirit of the people of Tsukuda Island for a long time as an important traditional event in Chuo-ku.

If you are interested in history, highways, earthquakes, and product exhibitions, why not take this opportunity to visit us? Also, on the wall of this exhibition hall (underground concourse of the subway metro Mitsukoshimae Station), a photo exhibition (air photographs around Nihonbashi) and "Kidai Shoran" are shown in permanent exhibition.
In the photo exhibition, two large photo panels are displayed side by side. One was from 2006 (2006), and the other was from 1944 (1944) before the Tokyo Air Raid. In 1944, there was Ryukagawa, Sakaigawa, a ward in Chiyoda-ku and Chuo-ku. Can I find it?
"Kidai Shoran" is said to have been drawn around the 2nd year of culture (1805) during the Edo period, the 11th Shogun Ienari Tokugawa, and detailed picture scrolls of the 7 towns (760m) from Kanda Imagawa Bridge to Nihonbashi. I am.
This picture scroll is a replica of the one owned by the National Museum of Asian Art in Berlin (actually expanded from 12.3m to about 17m by 1.4 times).
It's a valuable resource for knowing the state of Edo town at that time.
There are 88 stores, including Mitsukoshi's predecessor, Mitsui Echigoya, and 1671 people come and go, as well as 20 dogs, 13 horses, 4 cows, monkeys and hawks. If you look at it, you can see the bustle of the time.
It seems that he was visited by the Ushimachi Fire (Heitora Fire) in the following year's culture (1806), and it is a valuable picture scroll because it was the picture just before that. I think many of you have already seen it, but if you haven't yet, please take a look at this "Japan Hundred Highway Exhibition".

The world's mysterious animal exhibition created by the University of the Arts is being held at the Central Hall on the first floor of the Mitsukoshi Nihonbashi Main Store.
Animals don't move. About 20 animals (?) Yes. But all people passing by the strangeness of the material they made are surprised.
It reminds me of infinite ideas, playfulness, and his childhood when he was in elementary school. Well, let's take a look at it.
A large dragonfly, a large scarlet dragonfly standing in the sea world of "Naushika in the Valley of the Wind".
If you look closely, the feathers are thin sliced rings of colorful straws.
This is an australia bird with beautiful feathers?
The feathers are shavings that come out with pencil sharpening.
This is Hawk, a hawk made of plastic knife. Hawk of knife。
Almaziro. It's good, isn't it?
If you look closely at the shell, small eyes (moving black eyes) gather, and when you shake, the small black eyes move.
This is paper peacock (paper peacock).
It is made of paper (weekly Shonen Jump).
lizard.
My stomach is on the glass.
The title is "Background and Front"
A turtle.
The shell is marble.
Flamingo
Everyone is a unique material. It's well done. As expected, I would like to say "Geidai." 2nd year student at Tokyo University of the Arts.
This "Materials x Animals" exhibition will be held from August 10th to 22nd. It's free, don't miss it!

This year, the Tsukiji Honganji Noryo Bon Dance Festival, which celebrated its 64th anniversary for four days from Wednesday, August 3 to 6 (Sat), with the theme of supporting the reconstruction of East Japan affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake and saving electricity through private power generation It was held. On the first day, a memorial service for Great East Japan Earthquake was held, followed by a lively Tsukiji Bon Dance Festival. That's good! It's a summer tradition.
This year, it is said that it is a “private power generation Bon Dance Festival”, which uses a private power generator to supply power during the period to save power.
The three major Bon Odori dances in Tokyo are said to be the Yasukuni Shrine Mitama Festival, the Tsukiji Honganji Noriyo Bon Dance Festival, and the Oedo Festival Bon Dance Festival hosted by Chuo Ward. I wonder if it's because it's large and large.
A lot of Bon Odori songs are played on the Oedo Sukeroku Taiko and the drum sounds.
Local Ondo "Tsukiji Ondo", Chuo-ku "This is Edo Bon Dance", "Tokyo Ondo", "Coal Mine", "Home Run Ondo", "Yukata Ondo", "Sunny Japan", "Horin Ondo" and "Oedo Sukeroku Ondo".
The moderator on the tower also introduced eco bags to support the affected areas and charity women's professional wrestling scheduled to be held on August 20.
Saturday, August 20 11: 00-19: 00 at Tsukiji Honganji Temple, "LLPW Charity Pro Wrestling!"
Approximately 10 stores, including foxes (motsu stew), Torito (yakitori), and Shoro (egg-yaki), are opened from the famous store association of Tsukiji Outer Market. There are plenty of delicious flavors that can only be eaten here! It seems that he claims to be the most delicious Bon Odori in Japan. Please also refer to the blog of the correspondent "Maritsuki". http://www.chuo-anko.or.jp/blog/author/author62/
Then, there was also a “Tsukiji Smile Plaza” event, and there was also a food and drink corner using ingredients from the stricken area, which was crowded with many customers.
There was also a corner where small children could get souvenirs by playing WII quoits. If you look at the picture, the adults around you are more serious!
"Tsukiji Smile Plaza" is held once a month on Saturdays and Sundays, utilizing the precincts of Tsukiji Honganji Temple, Namiki-dori B Building Plaza and its surroundings.
Let's cheer up so that those affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake can return "smiles" as soon as possible! Under the slogan "From Tsukiji", charity events for reconstruction assistance, eating and drinking, and merchandise sales were being held at Tsukiji Smile Plaza. .
What is the event schedule for "Tsukiji Smile Plaza"? http://www.tsukiji.or.jp/tsukiji_smile_hiroba/
The moderator of the Bon Dance Festival gave the following information.
Saturday, August 20 11: 00-19: 00 at Tsukiji Honganji Temple, "LLPW Charity Pro Wrestling!"
Tsukiji Honganji is the temple of the Jodo Shinshu sect, and in 2012 it was the 750th anniversary of the Shinran, the founder of the Soso. There are Buddhist memorial service training and countdown events. http://tsukijihongwanji.jp/tsukijihongwanji/125
And there is a historical site in Honganji that must not be forgotten. ①"Takeko Kujo" lady poetry monument, the second daughter of Nishi Honganji Temple priest Koson Otani, a poet born in Kyoto. ②The Tomb of Hoitsu Sakai, the founder of Edo Rinpa, which follows the style of Kourin Ogata. ③One of the forty-seven Akaho Nanji, on the way to withdraw from Kira's residence to Takanawa Sengakuji Temple, `` Shinroku Hazama '' Peace pagoda, who tied 50 Kaneko to a spear and threw it to Honganji Temple as his own memorial service, .
④The tomb of Genseki Habu, a Dutch doctor in the late Edo period and famous for his treatment of eye disease. ⑤Magoemon Mori Tomb, a person who built Tsukuda Island and opened a shop that became the base of the Nihonbashi Fish Bank in the early Edo period.
Finally, this year, the Bon Dance “Oedo Festival Bon Dance Festival” in Chuo-ku will be held at Hamacho Park from 27th (Fri) to 28th (Sat), 17:00? 21:00.
How about the last Bon Dance that concludes this summer with the song "This is Edo Bon Dance"! It was like this last year. http://www.chuo-kanko.or.jp/blog/2010/08/21.html

July 7, 2011 08:30
On the morning of July 5 (Tuesday), it was a sunny and hot day, but we led a customer of the town walking tour “Nihonbashi Long-established Course 1” hosted by the Chuo-ku Tourism Association with correspondent “Catherine”. All of the long-established stores are famous stores such as "Ninben", "Eitaro Sohonho", and "Yamamotoyama", which were founded in the Nihonbashi area during the Genroku era and Ansei era in the Edo era. We had you explain about the history and products.
The tour started by gathering by 10:00 in front of "Ninben" on the first floor of Choledo Muromachi and explaining the participants' confirmation, precautions, questionnaires, etc. The required time per store is about 40 minutes, including the explanation of the store, shopping, and moving to the next store. Below, we will briefly introduce the descriptions of each long-established store and recommended products.
[Ninben]
Mr. Tomita explained the history of the store and the products.
It seems that the beginning of Genroku 12 (1699) during the Edo period, the first generation, Ihei Takatsu, lined up doorboards in Nihonbashi with "no cash price" and started trading bonito and salt dried fish. Mitsui Echigo-ya started the business of "no cash discount", but the first Ihei also built confidence at a low price. Also, at the end of the Edo period, "Ninben Bonitobushi Store" issued the first gift certificate in the world. The gift certificate at that time was a stamped silver thin plate, and then turned into paper.
It seems that new products have been developed with the relocation to Cored Muromachi and is popular. Natto Japanese sweet "Iromame Hoheto". You can enjoy various kinds of flavors.
Then, with a new idea, he started "Nihonbashi Dashiba", which offers "Katsuobushi rice", which is said to never get tired of eating every day. Under the theme of the basics of Japan's unique food culture, one soup and one rice, lunch menus include "Katsubushimeshi" and "Soup" (350 yen) (in July, cold mozuku soup, meat dumpling sesame miso, mokuzu soup) And "dashi drink" (bonito-bushi, bonito and konbu taste, etc. are offered at a restaurant, 100 yen per cup). We had a little salt in "dashi drink" (bonito-bushi and konbu flavor) to prevent heat stroke. It was hot and delicious.
It happened that the president, Katsuyuki Takatsu, came to the store and greeted him.
[Eitaro Sohonpo]
Mr. Nishiwaki explained the history of the store and the products. In the Edo period (1857), Yasubee Hosoda (young name: Eitaro) sold "Kintsuba", which was named from the sword Tsuba on the banks of Nipponbashinishi. It seems to be. It seems that the name of the shop was changed from "Izutsuya" to "Eitaro" after his childhood name.
It is a store curtain with the name of the store, but the color is said to be white on a dark blue background in Edo and white on the upper part.
At the entrance, there is a large red stone "Akadamaishi", which is a red stone carried from Sado at the villa of the Koza official "Goto" who manufactured the oval in the late Edo period. It seems that this was handed over by the first Anbei (Eitaro). There is a good benefit, and there is a good idea to pray with a lottery ... Since the villa of "Goto" was handed over, valuable paintings of Oukyo Maruyama were included in it, and Mr. Hosoda currently has it. I'd like to see it.
After entering the store, the "Japanese Confectionery Eitaro Main Store Mansion Factory" (written by Shinya Shibata) is displayed on the left wall, but at the "Bangkok Invention Expo" held in London in 1885 (Meiji 18) It is a valuable thing exhibited to explain Eitaro's manufacturing process, and is said to be the inhabitant of the ward Tangible Cultural Property in Chuo-ku.
In the introduction of the products, of course, there was famous confectionery's Kintsuba, but he emphasized the stick-shaped ball-shaped ball. It is a rare confectionery in the world that uses this wasabi as a raw material and is said to be Eitaro's original product. It is said that it is made by mixing sugar and grilled rice flour (steaming glutinous rice into rice cakes, baking and crushing), mixing the grounded Yamato potatoes and wasabi, and wrapping them in kneaded rice cakes. It seems that the soft touch and wasabi taste are good. Some of the participants were asked to buy it.
In addition, matcha candy, black candy, tea candy, throat candy (released in the spring of 2010), sweet name sugar (Amanatsuto: Nihonbashi limited), plumboshi candy, Arihira sugar (Aruheito: Nanban Watari sugar confectionery), freshly made bread etc. There was introduction. O umbrella I bought Eitaro candy and Kuzumochi.
There was also a restaurant in the restaurant where you can enjoy meals, sweets, shaved ice, etc. at reasonable prices. Weekdays are from 9:00 (9:30 on Saturday) to 18:00, meals are lunchtime: From 11:00 to 17:00 (Saturday at 15:30).
[Yamamotoyama] When I entered the shop, I was guided to the cafe in the back. There are 16 seats on the table, and it is a small room based on black, but there is a large red parasol in the accent, and ukiyo-e on the surrounding walls, giving you the atmosphere of Edo. In each seat, there were cool water tea and hojicha plastic bottles in glass vessels, rice crackers, seasoned seaweed, etc.
At first, Mr. Inoue (male) talked about the history of the store. In Genroku 3 (1690) during the Edo period (1690), Kahei Yamamoto (the first generation) went out of Kyoto to Edo and traded tea. Yamamotoyama was the product name of Uji Sencha, which was sold during the Edo period. It seems that it became the name of the store in 1941.
Next, there was an explanation of the product received from Ryo Chiki (female). Fukamushi Sencha seems to be delicious even when watered, and in fact it was delicious because I walked outside the hot weather. Two types of seasoned seaweed (ume and sesame flavor) and two types of tea friend "Nori Senbei" are recommended.
Recently, they sell Brazilian tea in autumn. October is the spring of the Southern Hemisphere, a new tea season. It seems that the quality of Brazilian tea is as good as Japanese tea.
Then, it was broadcast on the TV commercial (early 1940s) of the example, "Yamamotoyama, even if you read from the top, Yamamotoyama even if you read from below", but it seems that tea cultivation is performed on the mountain rather than flat ground, Yamamoto It is said that it is Yamamotoyama because it is a mountain of Sanchi's tea garden.
Mr. Chiki was carefully answering questions from the participants while pouring water tea to the participants. .
The coffee room menu consists of matcha, Gyokuro, Hojicha, Kombucha, Sencha (specialty deep steaming, Shizuoka, Uji, Sayama, Kagoshima Chiran, Fukuoka Yame) tea and Japanese sweets set (600 yen), tea and rice crackers (400 yen) ... Japanese sweets and rice crackers are collaborations with Japanese sweets "Nihonbashi Nagato". And it is ochazuke (900 yen, green tea pickled + green tea ume taste + Nagato Japanese sweets + Example tea). I want to try it once.
As mentioned above, there was a nostalgic Pessen "Nihonbashi Edo Long-established Tour" with the logos of "Ninben", "Eitaro Sohonpo", and "Yamamotoyama" at every shop.
Participants listened to the explanation at each shop, and enjoyed shopping such as recommended items. I think that everyone was very good in 2 hours. With the souvenirs and shopping items received from the shop, I returned home with a regret. I'm glad I could lead you safely!
The photo below is taken from each long-established store on this course. Thank you very much.
This "Nihonbashi Long-established Course 1" will be held on the morning of September 13th (Tuesday). Participation fee is free. The application deadline is September 2. If you haven't yet, please apply and check with your own eyes. I hope you win the lottery.
