A houseboat that passes under the Harumi Bridge and Harumi Bridge

[Kantaro 2017] 16:00 on August 31, 2017

This summer, the weather was unseasonable, and I feel that the cicada sounded short. Perhaps because of that, I was not blessed with the opportunity to take a picture of a houseboat passing under the title Harumi Bridge.

The Harumi Bridge runs parallel to the railway bridge of the industrial remain called the Harumi Bridge. This freight line connected Ecchujima Station of JR and Harumi Wharf, but was abolished in 1989, and all railway tracks were removed. However, the only remaining remain is the arch bridge, which is said to be "a valuable heritage that has seen the development of the Gulf Area."

The canal that flows below this is the Harumi Canal (or Harumi Canal), and the Ohashi that runs downstream of the river is also Harumi Ohashi, but this bridge is marked as Harumi, which uses spring letters. This bridge is also the ward boundaries between Chuo-ku and Koto-ku, where Harumi-dori St., which connects Harumi, Kachidoki, Tsukiji and Ginza in Chuo-ku, and Toyosu and Shinonome in Koto-ku.

It is recommended especially during twilight as a place where you can see the skyscrapers in the Harumi and Tsukishima districts that continue to develop in the bay area of Chuo-ku, the industrial heritage that is an abandoned arch bridge, the houseboat that colors summer nights in Tokyo, and the fun of the name (Harumi and Harumi).

Power of Tsukiji Outer Market

[Tom Shimomachi] 14:00 on August 30, 2017

Tsukiji Fire 2.jpg

The other day, the fire that occurred in the [outside market] was a major incident in which the surrounding area was temporarily chaos, but fortunately there was no human damage and I was relieved. I was worried about what would happen because it was a densely populated area of old wooden buildings. You would have been surprised too.

Tsukiji Fire 3.jpg
There were several shops that were unable to operate due to the fire, but it was painful, but there were several handwritten notes at the fire site, "Temporary business elsewhere I'm in sight. You can also be encouraged by touching the cutness of the blue sheet and the strength that you can never see.

IMG_5176 (2). JPGA greengrocer has been operating a blue sky only in the morning beside a nearby gas station. There are many regulars, and vegetables are sold one after another. Each time, encouragement and familiarity are exchanged, such as "Please do your best" or "I'm glad you have the business."

Tsukiji is not only full of humanity, but people with a strong heart that can withstand adversity support the food culture firmly. Please support the development and rollback of Tsukiji [outside market]. And I hope you will come and visit us when you come near you. Thank you very much.

Post box in the Ginza area

[O'age] 14:00 on August 28, 2017

Many of you may know that there is a gray and inconspicuous post near Kyobashi on the "Ginza Birthplace" monument. You care about the beauty of the city.

By the way, at Namiki-dori St., etc., it is a dark green and inconspicuous post. I don't think I've seen it in other parts of the city.

Also, the small post office in the Ginza area is not on the first floor of a rental building, but on the basement or on the second floor or higher, isn't this a characteristic of an expensive commercial area called Ginza?

The 28th Oedo Festival Bon Odori Festival in Chuo-ku

[Sam] 12:00 on August 27, 2017

DSC_0120RS'G.jpg On August 25 and 26, the 28th Chuo-ku Oedo Festival Bon Odori Tournament was held at Hamacho Park (2 Nihonbashi Hamacho).

This year, as a commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the enforcement of the central ward system, the Oedo fair Corner by the local store association will be expanded to further expand the circle of local communities and to fully enjoy the charm of the main ward where history and tradition live. There are plenty of fun, such as selling special products at the "Specialty City Corner in the ward", "Friendship and Exchange City Corner" and "Antenna Shop Corner", and "Citizen's Facility PR Corner", etc.

And while songs such as Chuo-ku Ondo "This is the Edo Bon Dance" flow one after another at the Hamacho Athletic Field, the dance team and drum team are performed on the stage on the central tower colored by Japanese lantern. Around the tower, the dance circle spreads many times, and the venue is full of vitality and enthusiasm.

Visualization of wall greening [Chuo-ku government office]

[The Minnie Cricket] August 26, 2017 18:00

Even in Chuo-ku, I often see buildings with green walls, but sometimes I want to know how effective it actually works.

The Chuo-ku Office has been installing a wall greening thermometer next to the front entrance for a long time so that the difference between the temperature of the wall that has not been greened and the temperature of the greened wall can be seen in real time by numbers. "visualization" is being planned.

hekimen001.JPG

On the day of shooting (August 22), the temperature of the wall that was not green on the wall was 34.3 degrees, while the temperature of the greened wall was 29.0 degrees, 5.3 degrees different.

hekimen003.JPG

Wall greening is amazing, or this effect using the power of plants is amazing.

From tomorrow (23rd), it will be sunny and the temperature will rise even more, and the effect of greening the walls is expected.

In addition, we received your consent when taking photos.

Thank you very much

Greening is not only on walls, but also rooftop greening and ground greening.

During the rain [Akatsuki Park Adventure Plaza]

[The Minnie Cricket] 18:00 on August 23, 2017

boken001.JPG

It is a scenery between rain, a park in Chuo-ku in Tokyo, where it has been raining since August.

boken002.JPG

On the west side of Akatsuki Park in Tsukiji 7-chome, the long elongated adventure plaza (map below, long elongated red frame), there are playground equipment using tires and Tarzan ropes, so you can enjoy a little field athletic feeling.

boken000.jpg

During the rain, many families used this adventure plaza (the photo was taken so that no one could enter)

boken003.JPG

Morning glory was also blooming on the fence of the adventure plaza, which matched the cheers of the children and made them feel summery
