Great zelkova in the friendship city of Higashine City

[wienerhorn] September 4, 2018 09:00

Higashine City, Yamagata Prefecture became a friendship city with Chuo-ku on July 6, 1991. It seems that Higashine City presented the cherry tree, which boasts the highest production volume in Japan, to Chuo-ku, and the edge of exchange grew. .
In Higashine City, there is a large zelkova, a nationally designated special natural monument. Over 1500 years old, the trunk circumference of 1.2m above the ground is a huge tree with a trunk circumference of 16m, 5m in diameter, and 28m in height. It is located on the premises of Higashine Elementary School in Higashine City.
How about a hot spring and gourmet trip from Tokyo on the Yamagata Shinkansen?

The Eitai Bridge was swayed by the power! The main festival of Tomioka Hachimangu Shrine

[Hanes] August 16, 2018 18:00

Hello. This is a new correspondent, Hanes.
On the 12th, I went to see the main shrine festival (Ninomiya carrying of miniature shrines) at Tomioka Hachimangu Shrine (Koto-ku)!

It is said that it will pass through Chuo-ku, and wait near Eitai Bridge.
One hour before the passage, local people with cameras and tourists from overseas are crowded, and it is very busy.
As expected, along with the Sanno Festival at Hie-jinja Shrine in Akasaka and the Kanda festival of Kanda Myojin, it is one of the three major festivals in Edo.
Shortly after a track with an impressive person with a drum and a dazzling smile passed by....

Start of watering in front of Eitai Bridge (Chuo-ku)
(Photo in the lower right: I'm sorry that it's hard to understand, but it's part of the watering.
The water was rising quite high, and it was impressive even from afar! )
And "Wasshoi! "Wasshoi!" And a large number of people and portable shrine came near.

THM4.jpg

It was found that the bridge was shaking due to the power of the people involved.
Suddenly, I was able to enjoy the sense of realism and power that I thought, "Isn't I also participating in the festival?"

This festival is held every three years, with the main festival, the main shrine festival, and the shadow festival, but this year is the year of the main shrine festival.
At the main festival held in imperial procession, where Hachimangu Shrine's Ohorai is held during the Year of Children, Rabbits and Roosters.
More than 120 towns, large and small, are carried by portable shrine, of which 54 large portable shrines are formed in imperial procession.
The next event will be held in 2020! It seems to be very exciting because it is the year of the Olympic Games.

At this festival, not only the imperial procession portable shrine, but also the performance and dance of musical instruments and famous watering.
Various events will be held!
Click here for the schedule of this year's Reisai Festival event (August 11 (Sat)-15 (Wed)).

I will leave in August half a month....In Chuo-ku, many summer festivals are scheduled to be held.
The remaining heat is still severe, but let's take care of heat stroke and enjoy the rest of the summer.

Chuo-ku - Creatures in the River

[Nyan,] July 25, 2018 18:00

Hot days continue every day. Sometimes I compare the world's highest temperature with Japanese ones, for example, Manila, Philippines.

When we know that today's minimum temperature is 25 degrees and the maximum is 30 degrees, "O ... cooler than Japan." Someday the southern country is likely to become a summer resort.

koukyo.jpg

Even so, for me who is busy with heat metabolism, I jog in Tokyo, which has become a free sauna. You can run 30 km in winter, but at this time it is 10 km and hello.

Rather than sweating, the feeling that the body is melting is enough to enjoy the process of degenerating from mammal to amphibians.

The photo is not Amazon. It's a place in Tokyo.

In fact, it is the moat of the Imperial Palace. Due to eutrophication and high temperatures, the overgrowth of aquatic plants may be gaining momentum and leaving Japan.

(It is said that the moat of the Imperial Palace is also refrigerated and filtered appropriately, but the transparency differs between the Hanzomon side and the Ote-mon gate side depending on the location of the filtration device.)

Well, what to hide, I love animals, and aquatic animals have been really familiar since childhood. In the future, I was seriously worried whether to aim for the master of Kungfu or the director of the zoo.

Events and history that are full of Edo atmosphere around the Sumida River are endless, and it is natural to call itself "Mizuto Tokyo" even from the daimyo residence made by drawing water from Tamagawajosui and the cityscape of Edo. I can't enter. At the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics 2020, the importance of transportation using waterways from Haneda Airport etc. will increase more than ever.

Oh! For that reason, although it has become better than the old days when the bad smell occurred, when traveling on a boat, I am inevitably worried about "dirty water". (Of course, there may be opinions about the large population and the large number of artifacts.)

And if you would like to see the materials that summarize the current situation of aquatic animals in Chuo-ku here, we will introduce Chuo-ku "creatures in the river".

In brackish waters where salt water is mixed, river water is divided into upper, seawater is divided into lower, and when the tide rises, seawater goes up the bottom of the river to upstream. It seems that seawater flows into the Iwabuchi sluice gate in Kita Ward on the Sumida River. Speaking of Iwabuchi sluice gate, it is 20 km north of Arakawa cycling road. The brackish water continues from the mouth of the river.

In general, brackish waters are mixed with freshwater and sea creatures, so the diversity of living things increases, but from that point of view, it is a bit disappointing that there are few creatures that can be captured. (Although there is no description on the above page, you can sometimes see mokuzu crab, which is said to be delicious because of the closeness of Shanghai crab.)

We believe that the purification of water quality and the improvement of biodiversity that can be seen will increase the value of Tokyo, and we will continue to watch it. (I would like to be involved not only in looking at it, but also in efforts to clean water.)

[Extra] Chuo-ku in Hong Kong I found while traveling

[Ino-chan] June 20, 2018 18:00

I went to Hong Kong at the beginning of this year.

The damp air that clung around the body, and the lukewarm wind that exposes it.

It is a fascinating big city that does not get tired of visitors, with its unique heat and fairyness.

IMG_2946.jpg

Hong Kong-like landscape with a high population density, commonly known as monster apartments.

※Because it is private land, prior permission is required for shooting.

I found the letters "Tsukiji" and "Tsukishima" in the city of Hong Kong.

It is pushed to the front as a "gimmick" (gimmick) that attracts customers.

It can be seen that the town name of Chuo-ku plays a role like a brand in this area.

Wanzi Ferry Pier on the island of Hong Kong.

This is Tsuchiuri Bay (Tokuwawan) area on the Kuryu side.

There was a time when the words "Made in Japan" and "made in Japan" were uttered.

However, it seems that these days have been more fragmented.

In Hong Kong, which has both English and kanji culture, the characters "Tsukiji" and "Tsukishima" are appealing.

Isn't it expensive?

Izu Highland-so, Chuo-ku above the price

[Mido] June 14, 2018 09:00

Some people may be thinking about a summer vacation trip plan, but for those who want to stay at a cheap and good inn, the recreation facility "Izu Highlandsso" in Chuo-ku is recommended.

What is surprising is the price of accommodation. If you are a central inhabitant of a ward or a person working in Chuo-ku, it costs "5200 yen" for 2 meals per night, and "4940 yen" for off-season. In addition, there is a 5% discount for groups of 10 or more. There's no way to use this.

However, because of this price, it would not be good for those who are looking for a luxurious and gorgeous trip. Some people may think that dinner is a little less. Therefore, it is recommended that you add individual dishes such as horse mackerel fried or shrimp fried to dinner. There are also special dishes such as stewed alfonsino and sashimi boating. (Reservation required by the day before)

Breakfast is buffet style, but the number of dishes is large and the number of accommodations is small, so I don't think it will be frustrated.

The rooms and baths were satisfactory at this price, and the staff were also kind. It's not a commercial somewhere, but I think it's just over the price. My family was happy.

Izu Highland is easily accessible from Tokyo, overlooking Oshima and Omuroyama, and there are many sightseeing spots nearby from the inn.

Harumi Kachidoki Canal Walking Course (2-1)

[kimitaku] May 31, 2018 14:00

I would like to introduce a walk course that goes a little far from Harumi Kachidoki.

From Kachidoki Station, go south on Harumi-dori St. From Harumi Triton Square, cross the Harumi Sanchome intersection and turn left. (This street that turns left is also Harumi-dori St..)

DSC_4472.JPG

If you proceed as it is, go to "Art Harumi" and turn right at the intersection. When you cross the Harumi Bridge, a large red and black bridge is on your right. This bridge is a bridge with a track that was used at the shipyard of the former Ishikawajima Harima Heavy Industries. If you look through the balustrade, the Rainbow Bridge is far ahead of the canal.

DSC_4474.JPG

This is Harumibashi Park. When you walk while looking at the flower bed, the surface of the canal is on your right. The crane's monument is red and beautiful. This is the Urban Gate Bridge. It opens like the old Kachidokibashi when the ship enters and exits. It's full of runners and dog walkers early in the morning. I'm surprised that this is the city center.

DSC_4482.JPG

There are many things to see. Next month.

Kachidoki Station → Harumi Triton Square → 3, Harumi Intersection → Art Harumi → Harumi Bridge → The Urban Gate Bridge continues.

Kachidoki Station → Harumi Triton Square → 3, Harumi Intersection → Harumi Ohashi → Shin-Toyosu Station → Turn left → Housing Exhibition Hall → Gas Science Museum
