The east side of Nakahashi was down

[yaz] January 20, 2019 09:00

The current Yaesu-dori is a landfill of the Momiji River, which was dug as a canal for transporting materials for the construction of Edo Castle in Keicho 17 (1612). Ten canals (Funairi moat) were dug on the coastline between the Edobashi Junction on the Metropolitan Expressway and the Kyobashi ramp. Eight of these were reclaimed in Genroku 3 (1690). The canal of Yaesu Street (Momiji River) connected to outer moat between Kaji Bridge and Gofuku Bridge. During the Enpo era (1673-80), the western half of the area, that is, Chuo-dori, the Momiji River (west side) on the outer moat side was reclaimed, and in 1774, the area from Kyobashi Intersection to Kuyasu Bridge (east side of the Momiji River) was reclaimed.

A picture showing the cityscape of Nakahashi Hirokoji appears at the Edo Famous Zoukai. Two roads (Chuo-dori and a right-angle road) are drawn, which one is Chuo-dori? You can guess that the road running from right to left is probably "Chuo-dori", can you decide?

Nakahashi Hirokoji (Edo Famous Places).jpg

There are many townspeople on the thick road, so I guess they are walking around the commercial areas of Ginza in Nihonbashi. The samurai and their servants are walking along the road that crosses from the upper left to the lower right, but they probably head to the castle. If this guess is "positive", the road going left and right is Chuo-dori. Let's analyze whether the guess based on this situation evidence is correct.

Looking at the oldest existing gu ticket map, the width of Tooricho (currently a block along Chuo-dori) was as shown in the figure below.Hoei era 7-Tora September book. jpg

  A = Countryside 10 B = Kyoma 6 C = Yokocho / Shindo Kyoma 3-4 (1 between Kyoma and 1 between Edo and 1.83m)

According to the "Hoei era 7 Tiger Year (Minami Temmacho Figure), the east side of Nakahashi Hirokoji Temple is only down between Chuo-dori and "X-A". After understanding this, let's take a look at the Edo famous place map. If you connect the eaves of the cityscape presumed to be Chuo-dori to the north and south (red line), it will be (red line), and you can see that the east side is decreasing in number as expected. From this consideration, it can be seen that the road leading to the left and right of the famous place is "Chuo-dori". I don't know how many X is.

National Treasure in New Year!

[Koedo Itabashi] January 19, 2019 12:00

"Yukimatsuzubibu"

It is a national treasure. His work is Oukyo Maruyama.

The six songs and one pair of folding screens are stored in the Mitsui Memorial Museum on the 7th floor of the Mitsui Main Building at 2-chome Nihonbashi Muromachi, and are usually open to the public every year in New Year.

Oimatsu with a strong trunk on the right, Wakagi on the left.

There's snow enough to turn into a branch.

The whiteness of snow shines brightly on the pine, which represents longevity and good luck.

In the air of gold mud, the rising morning light is refreshing.

The technique of drawing snow without drawing snow.

The white background of Japanese paper is left as it is, creating soft snow.

I'll be drawn in.

New Year's events will also be held in first full moon festival.

My grandson returns home. Hakone Ekiden. Visit Seven Lucky Gods. ・・・。

Surprisingly, time passes like flying.

In such a Mutsuzuki event, the action of "seeing national treasures" is added.

This year, we went to the Mitsui Memorial Museum.

About 35 years ago, I worked as a conductor at the Japanese National Railways.

The Senseki Line runs along Matsushima Bay in Miyagi Prefecture.

I saw the scenery of Matsushima wrapped in snow from the first train window that freezes in winter.

It is the snow Matsushima that was written in a song.

The world of sumi-e paintings of snow piled on trees and rocks that shape the islands.

There was no passenger yet.

This scenery is all alone.

Even though I was in the cold of freezing to the core of my body, it was impressive that the smile came out while shaking.

The railroad tracks are now laid away from the seaside after the earthquake.

The Yukimatsu-zu folding screen reminded me of myself in my twenties, who was celebrating the New Year while working.

It's spring, vague, Nihonbashi

[The Monkey] January 18, 2019 18:00

The masterpiece "Nihonbashi" by literary writer Kyoka Izumi is a work that was originally written as a novel and is so enthusiastic that Kyoka himself plays. I drew two geisha, Kiyoha and Takashi, who care for the same man. It is said that Kyoka from Kanazawa's longing for Edo culture is deeply rooted, and the air of Nihonbashi at the time of the Meiji era is transmitted. It was also talked about the fact that I found a handwritten manuscript last year. This "Nihonbashi" is being performed at the Mitsukoshi Theater until the 25th as a New Year's Hanagata New School performance.

Photo 2019-01-15 14 08 05.jpg

It was a commemorative performance 130 years since the beginning of the new school, and at the time of the premiere, Shotaro Hanayagi played Osensei and became a success. At the Nipponbashinishi Riverside Jizo-ji Church, there is a "plane-colored millennium figure" dedicated by Shotaro Hanayagi and is registered in the ward Tangible Cultural Property. The stage of the story began with this Nishi River Bank Bridge, and Shotaro also came to pray.

The book binding of Kyoka's book was Komura Yukidai, a Japanese painter, and the figure was also requested by Taro Shodai to Yukidai. On this day, the temple was closed and I couldn't see the picture, but there is a temple, and if you ask, you can show it. The photo shows Ema of the Millennium drawn by Yukidai. He was said to be a genius of design, worked on bindings, illustrations, and stage art, and was also a "designer" who was also enrolled in the Shiseido Design Department, which was just inaugurated.

Nihonbashi was also performed at the Mitsukoshi Theater in 1999 to commemorate the 88th anniversary of the Nihonbashi Bridge and the 100th anniversary of the bridge in 2011.

A luxury bread that sticks to Shikawa's water in Ginza

[Mapo ★] January 18, 2019 09:00

Ginza seems to be a boom in bread.
A new bakery opened next to Kyobashi Park in September 2018.

It is a shop called Shikawa, but the bread here is particular about water.
There is 60 water for 100 flour.
And by using alkaline ion water for the preparation water
It makes your ears moist like silk.
It seems that the melting of the mouth like light snow becomes a slightly sweet bread.

nisi2.JPG

It's really wasteful to bake it in a very fluffy way.
It's 864 yen for two loafs.
It seems that it can be stored at room temperature for 3 days including the day you bought it.

nisi3.JPG

Surprisingly, there are times when there are no queues at noon.

What I thought was a little interesting was that I collaborated with "Kamawanu"
If you wrap it in a furoshiki with your name, it will be a souvenir of 2,000 yen (excluding tax).
It's smarter than a paper bag.

In January 2019, you will also enter Osaka Senba.♪

[10th Excursion Series] Chuo-ku Historic Site where you can enjoy traveling around Tohoku

[Hanes] January 16, 2019 14:00

Hello. This is a new correspondent, Hanes.
When you hear the Tohoku region, do you think of any relevance to Chuo-ku?
After all, many people think of Higashine City, Yamagata Prefecture, a friendship city.
This time, apart from Higashine City, we will introduce places related to the historic sites of Chuo-ku that I found when visiting the Tohoku region.

[Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture x Tsukuda] Kaikaikan
Kaikaikan, a Kappo cuisine inn where cultural figures from the Meiji and Taisho eras stayed.
It was burned down by the Great Kanto Earthquake, and now only information boards remain in Tsukuda.
In fact, the building of this ryokan was relocated from Sendai City.
At that time, it was a scenic and quiet place with a panoramic view of Tokyo Bay.
It is said that Toson Shimazaki, Kaoru Osanai, Mokutaro Kinoshita, Rofu Miki, Isamu Yoshii, Manjiro Kubota, Yumeji Takehisa, and Ginnosuke Nisutsu also visited.

(I'm sorry for the evening photo.)

[Yamagata Prefecture x Nihonbashi Honmachi] Mt. Haguro
At the beginning of the Edo period, the benevolent bamboo became the lower daughter of the Sakuma family in Otemmacho.
One day, the conductor of Mt. Haguro in Dewa told him that he was an incarnation of Dainichi Nyorai.
Later, it is said that many people in the city who heard the story came to worship.

There is a stone monument called "Otake Dainichi Nyoraiido Ruins" at the site of the well she used now.

[Nakoso, Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture x Nihonbashikabutocho] Yoshiie Minamotono
During the Heian period, Yoshiie Minamotono headed for the attack on Oshu, suffered a storm near the current armor bridge.
When I threw a piece of armor into the sea and prayed to Ryujin, I was able to cross safely.

Armor Bridge. jpg
(Currently, there is an information board for the remains of armor.)

You can see the Yoshiya appearing here at Nakoso Seki and Nakoso Station in Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture.

IMG_3743.JPG
Photographed at Nakoso Seki. I'm sorry to rude again with the night picture.

On the monument at Nakoso no Seki, it is engraved that "the Heian period is nearing the end of the Gosannen War, the Mutsu Mamoru Genyoshi will go here on the way down to Oshu for its peace."
Then, just as we approached Nakoso, Yoshie stopped pieces and wrote such a phrase on the cherry blossoms flying on the warlord's iron clothing as if we had the spring to go.
"Is yamazakura?" ("Senjo Wakashu")
Bulse: It's Nakoso's Seki, named "I'm coming," so I don't think there's a blowing wind, but yamazakura's flowers are scattered enough to block the road.

Some of the historical sites in Chuo-ku are linked to Tohoku and all over the country.
You can also think about history by connecting historical sites while traveling.
And when I find a connection with my hometown, I'm sure it's not the only one who makes it even more fun to see historic sites.

There are some signboards that are not very noticeable and tend to spend time.
When walking around the town, be sure to check the information boards of these historic sites.

Creativity in the famous seat

[Asunaro] January 15, 2019 18:00

The tea room "Nyoan" built by Urakusai Oda (the younger brother of Nobunaga Oda) is one of Japan's three most famous seats.

Inuyama-shi. jpg

 <Inuyama City 2016 Photographed>

After many relocations, I am currently living in Inuyama City.
You can experience this charm at the Mitsui Memorial Museum.

An exhibition case that recreates the interior of the National Treasure Tea Room "Nyoan", which is related to the Mitsui family.

Now, "National Treasure Shino Chawan" is on display and is worth seeing.

I thought it was not wide because it was a two-and-a-half tatami mat.

I feel the actual space is wide.

I think this is one of the reasons for this.

And it leads to room around the tea ceremony entrance.

It seems that there is also the advantage of the ease of use that makes it easier to serve.

I won the tea ceremony space that combines the use and beauty.

Cafe. jpg

A moment of lingering in the cafe attached to it.

Eat sweet Japanese sweets and then drink matcha.
It's very comfortable.
