Tulips are in full bloom at Nihonbashi Toyamakan.

Spring flowers and tulips that everyone loves, from children to adults, and tulips, which are prefectural flowers that came to Nihonbashi Toyamakan from the home of Toyama, bloom in colorful flowers, and spring seems to have come a little earlier.

Until January 31 (Sun), the Tonami Kirihana Study Group's Tulip Fair is being held. Cut flowers will also be sold on the 30th (Sat) and 31st (Sun).

We spoke to the manager, Mr. Minamitani. At first, bulbs were exported to Western Europe. It is planted in the paddy field where rice cultivation has been completed as a back crop for effective use in winter, and eventually beautiful flowers became popular, making it an industry in this area. Today, it boasts the largest number of bulbs shipped and the number of varieties in Japan.
Every year, from September to October, bulbs are sold at Nihonbashi shops.
The Nihonbashi Toyamakan also has traditional crafts, seafood, mountain food, delicious sake shops, Japanese restaurants and bars, and tourist information corners. I would like to visit Toyama, which is right next to the road sign in Nihonbashi.
