From the middle of the Edo period, in the town of Edo, in December, "Toyotoichi", which sells New Year's goods in various places, was established, but the date and place to be held was generally fixed.

In the past, the 14th and 15th began in Tomioka Hachimangu Shrine, the 17th and 18th were Senso-ji Temple, the 22th and 21th were Kanda Myojin, the 22th and 23th were Shiba Shinmei Shrine, the 24th were Shiba Atago Gongen, the 25th and 26th were Hirakawa Tenmangu Shrine, and the last was Yagenbori fudoson onfudoson on the 28th.

Currently, it is held for three days from December 26 to 28 at the end of the year. From 1965, the wholesale district of Higashinihombashi opened a large-scale stall called "Dekoichi" and began to support it.
