From the middle of the Edo period, in the town of Edo in December, "Toshinoichi" sold New Year's goods in various places, but the date and place of the event were generally decided.

In the past, 14th and 15th started in Tomioka Hachimangu Shrine, 17th and 18th were Senso-ji Temple, 20th and 21st were Kanda Myojin, 22nd and 23th were Shiba Shinmei Shrine, Shiba Atago Gongen, 25th and 26th were Hirakawa Tenmangu Shrine, and the last was Yagenbori fudoson on the 28fudoson.

Currently, it is held for three days from December 26 to 28 in the New Year. From 1965, the wholesale district of Higashinihombashi opened a large-selling stall called "Dekoichi" and began to support it.
