New Town Development in Harumi

The Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games have closed, and in Chuo-ku, along with the large parking lot of Tsukiji, the Harumi athlete village has quietly closed.
As originally planned, the site will be maintained after this, and the dormitory building will be renovated and will accept new residents as private apartments. The transportation network, including the BRT, is expected to be further enhanced in the future.
In the past, there was Kokusaitenjijo in this area, which was a park and was popular with inhabitants of the ward, but since the Olympic bid was decided, it has been maintained as a site for an athlete village. Looking at the photos I took when I was once a vacant lot, I feel like it was a long time ago.
I visited from the venue when the athlete village was under construction. I never imagined that I would suffer from the COVID-19 pandemic at that time, but I would like to thank you for your efforts now to take the next step.
How will this district form a lively city in a few years? We hope that it will prosper as a new bustling area in Chuo-ku.
Harumi develops as an advanced area that attracts attention from all over Japan and around the world. I'm looking forward to seeing you in the future.
