It is said that the original form dates back to the generations of Heian Nara, but it is generally said that "Tahiraki reading" is the beginning. Until the Edo period, it was called "Kodan" after the Meiji era. It is said that Edo Kosha began when Seizaemon Akamatsu took Taiheiki at Tsuji, a town near Asakusa Mitsukebe during the Genroku era. This became the Taiheiki Koshakuba, and during the Ansei period, the Taiheikijo Kihara Monument was built and moved to the precincts of Yagenbori Fudoin, so the area around Yagenbori Fudo is the birthplace of Edo Kosha. .
