"Six ships" summer outfits with GSIX small boats floating
I'm always impressed with the decoration of the atrium of Ginza Six.
It is a sight seen from the store on the first floor, SIXIEME (Sigame). The bright red storefronts, cars, and pure white lines seem to tell the ship, and they don't seem to be misunderstood somewhere far away or in their dreams.
This work is CHIHARU SHIOTA's "Six Ships".
According to the leaflet I received,
"In this work, six ships with a maximum length of 5 meters will decorate the central atrium space under the theme of 'Six Ships'. Until now, ships have often been used as motifs in Shioda's works. Ships move forward in one direction, not only in people and things, but also in time, "What is existence?" It resonates with Mr. Shioda's question, who has been pursuing what it means to live, what we look for, and where we are going to go. In the new art, in Ginza, which is packed with the history of modern Japan, six ships depart and move forward in Ginza's "sea of memory", which has overcome various difficulties and continues to develop each time. The six ships are arranged at different heights and directions, so you will be able to enjoy an imaginary journey like visiting a different dimension while looking at the ships that can be seen and hidden from each floor."
CHIHARU SHIOTA "Six Ships"
Looking at a different angle from above, it looks like a landscape where lovers are going to go out for boating.
If you listen carefully, you will hear Bossa Nova's famous song "Barquinho".
