A great collection of delicious food and local specialties!
What to enjoy in the city? This year it will be held on weekends (October 19-20, 2024)

The annual event "Bettara City", where the streets around Takarada Ebisu Shrine and Sugimori Shrine are filled with stalls, will be held again from October 19 to 20 this year.

The sight of bettarazuke stalls lined up in a row is amazing!
But that’s not the only fun.

The city of traditional event and Ebisu Kobettara, which have been around since the Edo period, is full of various attractions.

What to enjoy in the city? There are plenty of things I want to do. ^^♪

Shrine
At Takarada Ebisu Shrine, Ebisu, which you can not usually see, will be specially open to the public.
This Ebisu statue was given by the Tokugawa family by Kayu Magome, who is said to have been created by the master craftsman "Unkei" of the Kamakura period.
This is a valuable opportunity, so I would like to visit you.

Stalls

Betta pickles (lightly pickled radish), which is the origin of the name of Bettara City, cannot be removed.
Earlier, the shop told me, "It's recommended to cut it and eat it with cheese," so it was very delicious where I tried it.

One of the pleasures is the stalls where local long-established and famous stores open.
There are gems that you want to taste at this opportunity, such as fish kasuzuke and Japanese sweets.

And you can't miss the elaborate stalls, such as "candy craft" and "carme-yaki" that can be enjoyed by the eyes, and "shichimi" that is prepared on the spot according to the taste of the customer.

Foods and drinks offered by local stores
It is the real pleasure of Betara City to go around various shops and find your favorite taste.
If you find a delicious dish or drink, you will want to visit the shop during regular business hours.

Traditional crafts of Edo
In Bettara City, not only food but also traditional Edo crafts are sold.
You can also get gems that shine with craftsmanship such as "Edo brush" and "Edo Kiriko" at this event.

In the past, I bought an Edo brush brush at a long-established store that was specially open at night in Bettara City.
I was surprised at a more reasonable price than usual.
When I actually use it, I feel that the quality is good and I am very satisfied.
