Experience the world of fragrance at Hatoido
This was my first exciting tour, "Touch the world of fragrance at Hatoido" was attended. In the middle of Ginza, the shop opens with a bell telling 10 o'clock in Wako. One of the origins of the name of Hatokyodo is said to have been named by his former client, Murotosu, and one of the earliest collections of poems in China, "Shikyo", "Imagi Arisu Iruga Iyuki" (a pigeon who is not good at making nests rents a rabbit nest and lives).
About Tokyo Hatoido
Hatoido, which was founded in Kyoto in 1663 (Kanbun 3), opened in Ginza in 1880 (Meiji 13), so that products can continue to be delivered to the Imperial Court in line with the relocation of the capital to Tokyo. This is the 139th year. We sell incense, calligraphy supplies, Japanese paper products (postcards, stationery, envelopes, etc.), and operate the Hatoido Gallery. Among them, "Oka" is a special focus, which sells various fragrance-related products. At the time of its founding, he ran a "medicine dealer" that handles medicine (herbal medicine) and its raw materials. A variety of fragrances from the ingredients of the medicine helped me to start making incense. In 1877, the then-Grand Minister, Sanetomi Sanjo, gave me the secret incense sticking method that was passed down only among the nobles, and the scent of Heian, which has a long history of more than 900 years, is preserved and transmitted.
Experience Monko
This is an experience of burning incense in an incense burner to hear the scent. While teaching the civil engineering of Tokyo Hatoido to teach you the procedure, we will use a special tool to burn incense. First, embed a small cylindrical charcoal that has set fire on a vessel containing ash. Next, while turning the incense burner, lightly press Haiyama so that it becomes a conical with ash pressing. Place the silver leaf on the ash mountain and put the incense tree on it.
The scent comes up from the incense tree warmed by charcoal and listens quietly. Eventually, the room was wrapped in an elegant scent.
Experience of type-pressed incense
Another experience is the type of incense. Mr. Takahashi will tell you. Choose your favorite fragrance from various fragrances in Tupper and mix it with water in the mortar. Place a large piece of material between vinyl and stretch it with a stick.
It is the same type as making sweets, and choose your favorite shape and cut it out.
The incense taken in the shape of stars, hearts, and bears is like cookies. It seems that you can use the incense you have made with it take home and dry it for 1-2 days.
From the time I entered the store, I was wrapped in the traditional Japanese scent and spent an elegant time. The customers also enjoyed the experience of making incense that they could not usually do. Since the time of the Heian period, there has been such a style of culture in Japan.
