　In 2017, the 400th anniversary of the founding of the predecessor, Honganji Edo Gobo, an information center with a shop/book center, and a joint tomb was newly established as part of the "Terato" project, which aims to become a familiar presence open to more people, Tsukiji Honganji with a new temple grounds. From 23:00 on December 31st, the annual New Year's Eve Buddhist memorial service "Nighting Party" was held in main hall, looking back on the passing years, thinking about the new year, and looking for the last Buddha's virtue of the year.

The main hall is lit up, with candle art featuring 2020 and tents selling soba and zenzai.　　　From 22:00, only 350 people who have obtained the "bell of night removal" ticket will be guided to the bell tower after worshiping the night removal party. Finally, the beginning of a new year, the first year of Reiwa will be reached.　Crackers are distributed to worshipers, and as the countdown choir is over and the year begins, crackers are rang all at once, and main hall is wrapped in loud cheers to celebrate the New Year. At the venue, New Year's books, Gagaku performances and pipe organ performances will be held, and it will be crowded until 2:00 closed.
