On the afternoon of August 24, just before the opening of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, the Air Self-Defense Force's acrobat flight team "Blue Impulse" flew over Tokyo. At the exhibition flight following the opening ceremony of the Olympics on July 13, the same red, blue, and green color smoke as the Paralympic symbol "Three Agitos" was fired to add color to the sky of the capital. The six aircraft formations that took off from Iruma Air Base in Saitama Prefecture arrived over Tokyo around 14:00, and from the western part of the city center, around the National Stadium, Tokyo Sky Tree, Tokyo Station, near Tokyo Tower, and clockwise for about 15 minutes around Tokyo. The flight course seems to have been set up so that it can be seen over a wide area. Despite bad conditions in the unfortunate cloudy sky, the Paralympic Games opening mood was successfully completed. Even at the Sumida River Terrace of Tsukuda Park, along with the approach of the formation, cheers came from the people who gathered, indicating the popularity.
