Wako's Thinking 26WAKO'S SDGs MONTH
The show window of SEIKO HOUSE GINZA is full of tropical rain forest plants.
In the window, houseplants such as monstera, caratia, and episkia are displayed.
The theme of this exhibition is "green".
(Scheduled to be exhibited until August 16, 2023)
GOOD LOOP A ⇄Z WAKO'S SDGs Month
At the front entrance, there was a booklet called "GOOD LOOP Sustainable A to Z WAKO", so I received it and read it. It describes what you think with the acronym A to Z.
A/ ATELIER
The "atelier" that makes sweets is located in the same building as Wako Annex. For more than 35 years, Patissiers have been creating gorgeous and delicious Meed in Ginza's sweets, inspired by the streets of Ginza and the changing seasons every day from the atelier window.
B/ BEAUTIFUL SIGHT
The building of Seiko House Ginza, where the Wako main store is located, was completed in 1932. As a landmark of Ginza, Tokyo, and Japan, we will continue to walk with Ginza as a symbol that tells the time.
C/ CLEAN ENERGY
Namie Town, Fukushima Prefecture, is working to create a city that utilizes clean energy for recovery from the earthquake. Wako uses renewable energy with zero CO2 emissions generated at Namie Sakai Daiichi Solar Power Plant. Going forward, we will continue to contribute to a sustainable society.
D/ DIVERSITY
Beyond gender boundaries, it is becoming a standard to enjoy dressing while sharing fashion and accessories. We have a navy blazer with a neat silhouette that can be used in 5 sizes.
E/ EXHIBITION
"Introducing wonderful arts and crafts as a store in the center of Ginza and connecting Japanese art and culture to future generations" Inheriting this feeling, we are planning a variety of exhibitions with works from various fields, from living national treasures to up-and-coming young artists who are expected to be active in the future.
F to Y are omitted. For Z,
Z/ ZERO WASTE
Reduction of waste from every aspect. The sustainable-themed show window displays with consideration for the use of renewable materials, upcycle materials, FSC and PEFC certified materials. After the end of the project, we will use it ingeniously so that it will not be discarded.
Please refer to "Wako's website" for details on the conversion of 100% renewable energy to all Wako stores.
In harmony with the buildings around SEIKO HOUSE GINZA
(Impressions of the author)
There is SEIKO HOUSE GINZA in harmony with the streets of Ginza Place, Ginza Mitsukoshi, Ginza Street, and Harumi-dori St., which are reflected in the show window today.
In consideration of the environment, Wako, together with Seiko House Ginza, is convinced that it will be loved by the SDGs for many years to come.
