I'm a little worried about a restaurant building
The 172nd (second half of 2024) Akutagawa Prize Naoki Prize, announced on January 15, 2025 (Wednesday). Jose Ando's "DTOPIA" and Yuki Suzuki's "Ghete said everything" were selected for the Akutagawa Prize, and the Naoki Prize was "The Sea that inherits Ai" by Yobaru Iyobaru. On the same day, the selection event was held again this time, a long-established luxury restaurant "Shin Kiraku (pictured above: Tsukiji 4-chome, Chuo-ku)". Every year since 1955, the first floor has been used as a selection venue for the Akutagawa Prize and the second floor has been used as a selection venue for the Naoki Prize.
The building was designed by 58 Yoshida, known for his modern Sukiya style. He is also the designer of the 4th Kabukiza (the current 5th Kabukiza Theater (upper photo) reproduces the appearance of the 4th stage as much as possible). It is said that it was built after the Great Kanto Earthquake and has been frequently renovated since then, but with its neat appearance, you can feel the "silent hospitality" that is one of the first wishes of the shop.
By the way, two houses, "Shin Kiraku" and "Naka Kanada (pictured above: Ginza 7-chome, Chuo-ku)" are "Japan's two largest restaurants", and these two houses plus "Kichicho" are "Japan's three largest restaurants.
